Food was lovely however staff were not very attentive and we were waited 2 hours for our main meal which is not acceptable

All in our meal was £155 for two including a bottle of wine which is what I had anticipated looking at the menu prior to us dining. The wine was £37 which I felt was rather pricey considering that I checked the price afterwards to find that you can buy it for £15. We waited for half an hour to have our order taken which I felt was a little long to start with. We both ordered fillet steaks to be cooked medium rare, one of which was cooked correctly and one was cooked medium. We also ordered a side of onion rings which were too greasy and the loaded fries I had with haggis and peppercorn sauce had rings of haggis which I found a little odd as that is how you see it in breakfast packs in the supermarket. Considering this is a restaurant that specialises in meat and a promoted relationship with local butchers for the price you are paying you would expect to see it presented better. The main issue for me was that later on that night I was sick in my sleep and although I can't really pin it on this restaurant it does seem a little coincidental that it was after eating at this here. Overall I would just say this restaurant is good and no more. Having paid £150 for two people I wanted to leave feeling a lot more pleased than what I did and I think that one of the steaks not being cooked correctly is very poor being that is their main selling point. To be totally honest I think they are overpriced and I would have said that for what we had £85 would have been more reasonable.

By far the best 3 course meal my partner and I have had. Service was really good but the food was different class. How they dont have a Michelin star is beyond me. Will definitely be back soon

Best meal we have had out in so long! Fantastic value for money and the food was just incredible.

Staters Coconut shrimp starter was lovely! Great portion size and flavours. The chicken waffle starter was poor. The bland macaroni coupled with the overly sweet waffle (with sugar granules) didn’t combine well. Mains Chateaubriand was majorly over-cooked from what we ordered. The sauces were nice but the scallops topper was a disappointment (£11 for 2 shrivelled unseasoned scallops). The other sides were ‘ok’ at best (not that warm) but the tomato was undercooked and the onion rings were overly salty. Wine Best part of the meal in our opinion -French Malbec.

Initial service coming into the restaurant was lovely, friendly & so welcoming. Service at the table was a bit hit & miss after we ordered food & drinks. No-one asked if we wanted more drinks through the service we had to ask. Also our main came far too soon. We had just finished our starters and were setting our cutlery down when the mains appeared. Plates had to be cleared and it felt a bit rushed. I would have been able to enjoy the food more if we had a little time between courses, we were not offered any black pepper or condiments either. That said the food we did get served was lovely but would have been more enjoyable if the service had been to the standard of the food. I marked the waiting time down as there wasn't enough time to digest food between courses

Restaurant was quiet, but it was a Monday night to be fair. Food was superb - we each had a different steak and all 3 were as good as any we’ve had. Service was attentive and friendly. All in all a first class experience.

First time visiting as we had a voucher from Christmas Lovely place Staff so nice and the food of course 10 out of 10

Quick to be seated. Took a while for first drinks order then pretty slow for food order. Didn't get mains until at least an hour after arrival. Waiter gave the steaks to the wrong person. As in asked who ordered medium/well done and who asked for well done and passed them out the wrong way round-ie he mixed up which was which. The steak dinners were very good. 2 people who ordered well done roast beef were disappointed as the beef was cremated on one side. Restaurant deducted one roast beef dinner from the bill.

Food was amazing. Lovely atmosphere, great staff was worth every penny. Will 100% be back. Recommend the zombie cocktails 👌

Very average! ☹️ poor cut of meat and full experience was just ok! Not much atmosphere and not the standard/all round experience I would expect for a £40 steak. Won’t be back unfortunately!

Staff excellent, food excellent, wee bit cold, wee notch up on the thermo n all would be perfect, but very good 👍

Been here quite a few times and it’s always been exceptional but unfortunately this time it was rather disappointing. The Mac cheese was very bland and portion sizes seem to have been reduced too. Will still go back as the steaks are the best and always tasty just hoping for better quality on the other things that create a great dining experience.

The chateaubriand & fries were perfect but it took a long time, just under 50 minutes from ordering, to arrive at the table! The Sticky Toffee Pudding was great as usual but the Pavlova 7 could have done with a reasonable amount more cream.

It was a bit noisy with screaming children during our meal.

Restaurant is lovely inside , service first class , steaks were divine . My wife and both chose to top our steaks off with haggis , probably too much ( 3 slices ) but the beef was of the highest quality . Our sons both had the chicken and waffles , it was no problem to order one without jalapeños , only thing slightly amiss was that the waffles were overly sweet . But overall , as good a dining experience as we've had , not cheap but a great treat for our anniversary.

There’s was a large party - birthday and anniversary which was fine but children were getting a bit boisterous, shouting and running around!

Food was lovely, service was ok. Opted for the market menu (due to wanting an early/quick Sunday lunch). The main building is stunning, unfortunately we were seated in what felt like a garage conversion to the side. The decor is definitely lacking in this section (felt a bit like the´cheap seats’). No complaints re the food tho’ and overall good value.

I ordered a burger and asked the server to make sure it was cooked all the way through. When it came there was several pink bits in it. I showed it to the server and explained I am pregnant and can’t take any risks with food. The server didn’t seem too happy that I had an issue with the burger and said I can assure it’s cooked but if you really want I can just ask them just to burn it for you? We were dinning with others and his response made me really uncomfortable although reluctant he took the burger away and explained it would be another 10/15 mins for my food which was fine. When the burger returned there was no pink bits which is what I had asked for but the chips I ordered where replaced with seasoned fries which I didn’t like so didn’t eat and is why I had ordered a different side and also the Russian dressing for the burger that came on the side was missing. They also hadnt melted the cheese like they did with the first burger so it made it quite dry. As everyone else had long finished there food I didn’t mention about the sides missing. The other dinners thoroughly enjoyed their steaks but on this occasion I was left disappointed but my food and by the response I received.

Meal was great wine good too … but when we went into the lounge after dinner every time the bar person but a bottle in the bin couldn’t have made it loud enough all you heard was bang ….

Best Steak in South Lanarkshire! I may even go as far as saying best Steak in Scotland 🤤 Friendly staff! Great atmosphere and chilled music choice! Will be back again for sure! Highly recommend you give it a try!
