The lads behind the bar were warm and welcoming g. Food was good and served in good time.
Great food even better customer service! We’ll be back. Thanks!
Great team lovely food! Serve decent coffee until later and I’ll give you full marks x
A lot of the menu was not available, I had to change my order three times. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. My grandson ordered a sirloin steak which was cremated, actually burnt black. I know I should have sent it back, but the girl behind the bar was mostly on her own. My bottled beer was warm, as was the glass. I ended up ordering two appetisers as my main, the salt and pepper chicken and the fries. The salt and pepper chicken was tasteless and its presentation was disgusting, it looked like something that was about to be thrown into the bin, I left virtually all of that. All in all, it was rubbish. We ended up eating snacks when we got home. I always enjoyed going the Dovey, but after last night, I definitely wont be eating there again.
Food was great, very generous portions. Service above & beyond.
Great food and good service and staff were very friendly.
Dreadful! At one point there were 7 dogs in the room making a terrible noise. We felt as if we were sitting in a barn. Drunk customers shouting. Waited too long for the meal. The staff looked as if they had walked in off the street. Bad was littered with dirty glasses. Never again!
Lovley food including the kids food, well priced, good energy. Thank you
Amazing food great quality really big portions and not too long to wait..
Lunch was really good, and service nice & friendly. We were well looked after
A great place to have lunch. Delicious food and drinks!
Great food and lovely service - enjoyable all in all.
Fantastic visit! The food was incredible - we will most definitely be back!
Blooming marvellous . Brilliant Sunday lunch . Proper massive dinner . Will come again.
Booked a table so we could watch the champions league final. Table wasn’t reserved and the DJ came on to ruin the football.
always a great time at the dovey, great food, drinks and atmosphere
1hr 30mins for food to arrive, no vegetables available in the children's menu, no coca-cola & no tea bags for a cup of tea. Food was ok but won’t be rushing to visit again.
Food was very good, we had the cod chips and the roast beef sandwiches plus a few drinks! Didn’t try the desserts but hope to try next time when we have more time
We came here after reserving a table for 4 persons, But to our dismay we were told they had run out of fish, pies, lamb and ribs, the only available items where burgers, out of the 5 disserts on the menu they only had one available fudge cake, they could of told us of the shortage of choice before we ordered our drinks, I will never come back here.
Great service, excellent food. Always enjoy visiting the dovey 👍🏻
the bbq rib with sides was done well. with a pudding not too bad value but can creep up if not careful. nice airy seating, good menu range.
I did not purchase food and I booked a table to watch the match. The atmosphere was good enough, i do find the TV's need updating or screens adjusting as all TV's seemed blurry. I do find the prices at the high end for a local pub, especially in terms of the Guiness. It was not the best tasting and overpriced. Find it weird that you shoot an Erdinger advert at the pub but don't have it on draft. Either the seating or TV's need relocating. It is not the best pub to watch the match in even though it's my preferred local as the staff are nice and the service is good. You have lights on above TV's making it reflective and blurry, the TV we were watching had a plant hanging down from it. You then also had two large TV's above seating were if you are sitting there you would do well to not have a sore neck or back from trying to look at them. Boss pub, boss staff, just needs prices looking at and how patrons watch the match definitely needs looking into. Apologies for the rant, been going the Dovey for years, but it just needs some little tweeks in my opinion, which other bars nearby seem to have realised.
Great brunch, beers, and spec for the match. Always excellent.
Would be nice to have a host greeting you on entrance, we walked in and looked around then had to queue at bar, 5 adults, a child and 2 dogs just to find out where our reserved table was! After this staff were lovely though and very friendly and attentive. Food was reasonable, we had roast dinners. I’ve had better but also had worse! Very dog friendly
Lovely steak from this place food is amazing would come visit again thanks
Service was great, staff really friendly and helpful Great location
Great food, really helpful friendly staff. Spot on to be fair
Had a trip to the world famous Dovedale Towers on a beautiful sunny Wednesday for a spot of lunch. The beers were superb and very reasonably priced
Lovely quality food, friendly staff. Overall great experience. would highly recommend a visit to here
Not been in for long time but was impressed. Very friendly staff who made me feel welcome bringing dog in which always nervous in doing so. Food was great. Will pop back.
Staff all lovely . I can recommend the halloumi and avocado burger, it's amazing. Great value food, big portions. Great pub.
Visited the area and spend a great evening at Dovetail Towers. Food was good, well priced with generous portion sizes. Atmosphere was lively without being too noisey. Will come again next time I'm in the area.
Absolutely love coming here. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a romantic meal or a group meal. Food is excellent as are the staff
Staff was a little slow, food was nice, thanks again
Food was average service was good and lovely atmosphere :)
Nice food friendly staff. We visit regularly would recommend especially for families.
Always like to go here whether planned or popping in. Staff are always friendly, food hot and very tasty. Great value for money
Always a pleasure to visit my favourite pub. Service was great as always and a substantial drinks selection.
Great service and food, little expensive for a Sunday roast. But very traditional home made food with lashings of gravy!!!
Lovely roast dinner and nice friendly staff. Dog friendly too.
The roast was OK but we had to wait over 40 minutes because a chef had not turned up. After the Liverpool parade the pub was busy and there was a long queue at the bar. More staff needed although the staff on duty were good.
We always have a good time match days are the best dinner and watch the game good atmosphere and staff are very helpful
Booked a table for Mother’s Day for me,my wife and 2 boys s - aged 5 & 3. When we arrived we were taken to our table in the ‘restaurant ‘area to be free by a big TV with the football on with the volume like a nightclub!! There was no way you could have a conversation and when I spoke to the staff, I was greeted with a hapless response - awful
Accommodated a large group with a pram very easily. Food was delicious and came in good time. Service good.
Very friendly staff and lovely food. Child friendly. Would recommend.
Turned up. Wasn't even open. Pointless in even offering bookings.
good atmosphere staff friendly and helpful variety of food ordered all enjoyed
Nice greet and meet, shown to our table promptly. Food was amazing and the portion and gravy was divine!!!
Always like the towers always a good atmosphere and nice food
Great service and good pub food 👍🏻 Especially with the football being on
