An excellent family meal in the restaurant side of this beautiful, gastro pub. Service was superb, as was the food. Staff were attentive without being in your face, which is always a plus point. Would heartily recommend it.

Great ambience and super food. The service was excellent. If I had a criticism it would be no fish on the menu the evening we were there.

We visited on a Sunday Lunch. Booking process online was easy. We seated straight away even though the pub was very busy . The food was excellent however one of the specials my husband chose had sold out at 1.30. We will visit again to try the full menu.

In spite of the shocking weather we decided to make the 10 mile round trip for a pre booked birthday mussel meal. The bar was crowded and a little noisy and we were directed to a table for two in the doorway to the kitchen and not far from the bar. We thought the other more desirable tables would soon fill up but they didn't. Mussels and drinks fine, a better positioned dining table would have improved the experience. Will request a specific table next time and see if that works. Rick

Very efficient service and really flexible with dogs too. The house wines were good and the fish in batter and burger plus the excellent chips were top rate. We will be back to try the pie or fish stew options soon. Thanks to all the team there.

Went last night for food and wasn't disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious! In fact it was the best rump steak I've ever had. Good portion size too. The pub itself is really cosy and the staff are friendly and efficient. Will definitely be returning.

Staff where friendly but sat near drafts door, main course was tough and lamb starter was dry, they did give us desserts for free though. Would go back and give it another chance

Good venue with very nice food, the menu is not to large with daily specials on the wall board. Would have scored higher but it was a quiet evening and the toilets were in progress of being renovated.

Excellent food and value for money in a pleasant atmospheric sphere. The service was friendly and prompt! I’d recommend this for a lunch time or evening meal. Plenty of parking and child friendly place.

Place was nice, service was acceptable but not professional. Food was however lovely and I’d recommend anyone to eat here. The setting, people and food were all good.

Booked a table for 6pm on a Sunday. We ordered our drinks and were shown to the table. Onlt at the point of our order being taken were we told that all the roast dinners were all gone and that they only had burgers and fish and chips left. We specifically wanted a roast dinner, which is not an unusual request for a Sunday. This should have been made clear to us before we ordered our drinks and sat down. As it was we had fresh drinks and no reason to be there. So we paid for drinks we didn't now want, left and went to find another pub. Its a Sunday, with 4 hours until closing. I don't care how busy you were there is NO EXCUSE for running out of roast dinners on a Sunday. Its just bad planning. And next time, tell the customer at the point they arrive, not after they've bought drinks and are placing their order.

Disappointing overall. Lunch menu was not as stated on web site (apparently "not updated since start of New Year"). Food ok. Lack of ambience. Cramped seating. Gents toilets, although very clean, needing repair around sink area. Quite poor.

Food was excellent- tasty tender beef, crispy Yorkshire puds, relaxed, un-fussy atmosphere, though a bit noisy because the pub was very busy. Didn't need music playing and the TV on at the same time!

Lovely situation on the edge of Nottingham. Went there for treat with my wife and step-mother. Food was delicious. Staff were friendly and attentive. The only negative was the length of time between ordering and food being served - nearly an hour.
