Even though we now live the other side of town, Four Bells is our go-to pub for tasty gastro pub food and a warm atmosphere. They have an ever-changing specials board and a menu that rotates often enough to never get boring and it's all reasonably priced. Never disappointed!
We've been a few times and Everytime we've had amazing food and very generous portion sizes! I recommend saving room for dessert too! A lovely village Gastro pub. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and value for money. Friendly service and pleasant surroundings make for a very enjoyable dining experience. Mussel night Food is served from 6 PM weekdays.
Excellent food as always, great service from the friendly team. A great location for nice food with friends or family. Definitely my favourite place for Sunday lunch!
Very disappointing. Ordered 3 meals and only 2 came. My poor grandma had to watch us eat and then have hers half an hour after. It was her birthday and it was ruined. We were then charged for all 3 meals. Will not be returning.
Great service very Polite and attentive staff. The food was delicious there was a lovely atmosphere In the whole place. A lovely buzz. Highly recommended will definitely return again Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening.
The Sunday roast was disappointing., vegetables were tepid and had to be sent back. They seemed to be understaffed and service was very slow and inexperienced it seemed.
We visited a Friday lunch time, the food was beautiful, excellent service in a most relaxing surroundings the staff were great, we would definitely recommend this inn.
We had a great meal and great service, as usual. The 'specials board' was excellent. I had an amazing Barnsley chop and my wife had a great sea bass dish. Super starters also. Great night out.
Lovely lovely food, would try again just to give them a second chance as the service was very slow, main took a while but was lovely, having to go the the bar to prompt drinks even after ordering & being asked if we had ordered more between courses, asking for the dessert menu twice, never got the bill went to the bar to pay even thigh we asked, just slow slow slow! Not great but as I said food fabulous.
Pleasant environment, good service, good food. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and drinks and we will be back soon. A good country pub with a relaxed atmosphere
Lovely menu, a step above normal pub grub and at a good price. I had the monk fish which was lovely. Great to see a pub that can accommodate gluten free with ease. Will definitely return.
We love The Four Bells . The staff are amazing , as is the food and environment . They catered to our table of 12 (including 6 children ) perfectly . Thank you .
The food was really good and the service was excellent the only downside was being seated right next to the door in the bar area despite having booked 2 weeks before. It was the most disappointing of our 3 visits there for meals, especially as it was a treat for a family member and we kept telling her how wonderful it was going to be.
Excellent food, especially the main course. However would have liked more choice for dessert. Excellent service from the team of young staff on duty. Will be very happy to return and hope to do so very soon. Very pleasant evening spent with friends. We look forward to our next visit. Thank you!
The Food was great, beer was ok, price was ok. Table was very cramped despite other bigger tables being available. Overall a pretty good night.

The service was excellent, staff all very pleasant.I was disappointed with my meal I ordered fish chips and peas,I guess I was just unlucky !because I got the tail end of the fish, anc was charged over £12 for the privilege!
Bar staff were so rude and patronizing. We were given a kronenberg glass which had cider in it. A genuine mistake by the girl that served us but when we said it was cider not larger the bar man was so patronising saying no its lager. The girl offers to swap as she realized she had poured the wrong drink which was fine but the male behind the bar kept just saying no its lager treating us like,we didn't know the difference. We won't be going back. You don't go for Sunday lunch to be patronized.
Lovely buzzing atmosphere on a Friday evening. Service as always was excellent. We had a table for 4 although we are not vegetarians we had 2 Poacher Pies, Sea Bass and Fish and chips....superb.
Beautiful food freshly cooked to a very high standard , visited on Monday night with my elderly parents and grown up son , it was a delight from start to finish , i would go more often , but i live in North Devon and was only visiting the area . Sue .
A lovely welcome received from friendly and courteous staff. Beautiful surroundings and food of the very best quality. Well done all we shall definitely be returning.
Great choice on the menu and the food was delicious. My husband tells me that there was also a good range of beers on tap.
Great food, great service! Decent park for kids and I love that dogs are allowed :) would recommended and will most certainly visit again! :)
We took our Son for a birthday meal, but his pint was a bit off, and his pie was cold in the middle. It had to be reheated. He drank his pint to save embarrassment.
The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff were so friendly as usual. Overall lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much.
Extremely enjoyable visit would enjoy a second visit. My partner was most impressed with the surroundins and I earnt extra brownie points, always a bonus
Made the wrong choice for my own meal. But my friends enjoyed theirs. Chorizo and Cod wasn't to my liking unfortunately. All previous meals I've had there have been excellent plus good service.
Great ambience, food and family friendly. The outside swings and slide is a bonus for those with little ones to keep them occupied whilst waiting for food.
Starters were good: Camembert for me and my husband had the squid. My main was roast beef, meat was fine but the gravy was tasteless and the veg was boring and bland. My husband had the ploughmans, he though it was good overall but quite dry with doorstop bread and no butter. Service was not very good standard, had to ask for sauces and it was difficult to get someone's attention for more drinks. When I paid the bill, in cash, they keep the change, about £4.50, my husband had to ask for it.
Fantastic food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Thanks for a great birthday night, we all had a fab evening. Craig and the staff always keep you going back.
Lovely dog-friendly pub! The food was excellent as usual. Unfortunately our waiter sort of forgot about us so we were waiting about 15 mins just for the dessert menu so we gave up in the end and paid and left!
We had Sunday roast lunch which was very good ,service wasn't quite as good as the last time we where there but they was very busy ,dessert was excellent cheese cake and brownie .
Booking was put back by 30 mins but the manager texted me early to check ok. Excellent lunch. Lovely staff. Dogs welcomed and were very happy too . A great pub and place to eat. All in all a very happy family.
Staff were attentive and friendly, surroundings pleasant, food was good but there were no healthy or salad options, which was a shame. Pricing was fair.
Food so nice I could have eaten it all over again!!! Took my 3 year old so was a bit on edge but the staff were amazing with him. Would recommend this place to anyone and everyone
Arrived a little early for booking but found a table almost immediately. We were with our 2 grandchildren so this was appreciated. Pre-ordered Sunday lunches had been kept for the boys and they loved them. Food was good and service attentive. We will be coming again when visiting from the north east.
Excellent fare and excellent service. The Four Bells takes pub food to another level, and their potted lamb starter is a joy. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Lovely place, great atmosphere, amazing food and fab staff. We will most definitely be going back very soon! (Portion sizes huge so dont over order!!)
Excellent service, amazing food. Made a wonderful evening for our birthdays Highly recommended to anyone wishing to either have a celebration or just have a nice meal
Great local food and excellent service. Were able to accommodate gluten free for one of our party. Great choice available on both main and lunchtime menu
The four bells never lets me down. The food and staff are excellent and as always the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. I always recommend to family and friends. Thank you for a lovely evening
We have been to the four bells many times and this time we took a group of friends. We all had an excellent evening enjoying the atmosphere and of course the great food. This place never disappoints and we can't wait to return.
We met our son & his family for a birthday meal this evening. The three different steaks were tried, also two vegetarian meals and the fish & chips. All the meals were excellent and we would certainly come back!
Fantastic food, gorgeous pub, excellent garden for children! Service was very friendly. The chicken with Brie and bacon sauce is to die for! 100% recommended.
We had a wonderful time at the Four Bells, as always. Food was fantastic, ambience great. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back soon.

Delicious food which was presented well. Really good choice of food on the lunch menu. Staff were friendly too. We will definitely visit again soon.
