Excellent food, attentive but not intrusive service and no pressure to leave the table when we chatted over coffee. The set menu is excellent value.

Great food at a reasonable price. Good service and a nice atmosphere. Only minus is that it is a bit noisy in there, but I will recommend it.

While I usually avoid restaurants that cater to the touristy theatre crowd, this one didn't have that feel. The food was fantastic. Good ambience. The servers were attentive and food arrived fairly quickly. Drinks took a little long though.

Excellent food and excellent service. I would highly recommend it. Clean and nice ambiance. Perfect for a pre-theatre meal as it's right in the heart of Covent Garden.

Excellent Service, fast but without compromising on quality. Ideal location for the Duchess Theatre next door. The Staff are attentive and service is with a smile. A great Restaurant, well done

Great service and food to match. Friendly staff who take their time to explain the menu and offer advice on which wine goes best with your order.

Very ordinary food with a long gap between courses. Pasta dish served tepid and seemed to have been stood for too long prior to being brought to the table.

Very quiet when we went in (it was 17:00 on a Monday though). Made to feel very welcome and not uncomfortable despite it being so quiet, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, very interesting menu that lived up to expectations. We ate from the main menu (as we had a discount voucher) but the theatre menu is essentially just a cut down version of the main menu and looks excellent value. A short walk to many theatres so a great location if you're heading that way.

I ordered the set menu which was good value and I really enjoyed the food. It is a very handy location before seeing a show.

The mashed potato was unbelievably watery and the steak was practically alive (asked for medium), over priced for what we got, would not recommend to anyone

Love this place. Every time we go, we are disappointed that its been so long since the last visit. Warm, friendly service, lovely contemporary dining room, great location and the food! Interesting menu with lots to please vegetarians as well as meat lovers. Their pre/post theatre menu is fab value too. Fantastic wine list and the some of the best cocktails around. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

Starter was fine but my main course (risotto) was undercooked and was missing an ingredient (parmesan). I returned my meal. The second version was not much better but at least it contained all the right ingredients. Whilst we were there the people at the adjoining table and the table behind also returned dishes. I would not go back and wouldn't recommend (even for a quick pre-theatre bite). Staff not particularly friendly either.

Food did not match its price. Had the octopus which was ok, but the liver parfait was horrible. Would probably recommend just eating the pasta.

Excellent in all respects, clean, fresh, modern, comfortable, affordable and excellent service. Located close to aldwych theatre area and many varied restaurants. Recommended for business or leisure.

On Valentine's you could only choose the set menu which was 3 courses for £55 a head without drinks. This was not specified when we booked and it was a bit disappointing that the choices were very limited.

Excellent food, wine and service. Will definitely eat here again when in London. The portion size is just right allowing you to enjoy 3 courses and they were sublime.

Small little place in the West end, most convenient for pre-theatre visits and yet not busy at all. Food was great, especially the pasta. Shame about the slow service when delivering dessert and bill but they were more than apologetic.

The food was really good and not the usual Italian style menu. The staff were really nice and friendly too! The ambiance was very chic and lovely! :)

Staff great, food fantastic. The non alcoholic coctails are 'on the button' for the non-drinking guests. Exceptional place for post dinner shows. Will dine there again soon!

Sadly the experience did not live up to the positive reviews I'd read in advance. On arrival we were met by a rather dour man who didn't say hello and briskly led us to our table downstairs which was wedged between the open kitchen service bay and the door leading to the dirty dish area, not a great start. This was followed by a waitress who didn't know the menu and offered no drinks list until prompted to do so. I should say the food was very good but the combination of waiters passing me every 2 minutes combined with the the really high noise volume did little to create a relaxing atmosphere for dinner. The mean was not cheap and did not match the experience we had. There are better restaurants nearby....

Excellent meal - food was superb. The most tender chicken ever. Food all served promptly. Everyone I party was very pleased with their food. Desert was to die for! Service great - our waiter Polish chap was informed on menu, helpful with wine choice and humorous. Definitely would return. Gteat find.

Four of us went after the theatre on a Saturday night. It was quite busy upstairs, but quieter downstairs. The staff were friendly and on the whole the food was good, although my husband was expecting his liver to be thinly sliced when it was two chunky pieces. Wine sold by the glass (150ml) or carafe (500ml) or bottle, with a good choice. I wish more places had a carafe option. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go again.

Très bonne cuisine italienne raffinée dans un cadre agréable. Nous aurions préféré ne pas manger au sous-sol, mais ambiance sympa quand même. Personnel souriant et professionnel.

Good food and a pleasant pre theatre meal. The tortelloni with black truffle was exceptionally good. The wine list was a little underwhelming and over priced.

I chose this place after googling for Italian restaurants near to the Novello Theatre. The food was good, but a little over-priced. The temperature in the restaurant was cold and was made even worse by staff opening the door to a chilled storage room every 5 minutes. We were also the only customers there and it was lunchtime in the Christmas holidays so there was no atmosphere at all - other restaurants in the area were packed. Unfortunately I wouldn't go back there again as there seemed to be better alternatives very close by.

A good selection of dishes, fresh ingredients, staff were friendly but not in your face and had good awareness of allergens. A thoroughly enjoyable pre-theatre experience.

Not busy when I went for lunch on a Monday but it's one of those restaurants which has its own confident atmosphere, so there was no feeling that we were rattling around in a failing eaterie. Very chilled, super friendly staff, excellent food and an interesting wine list at reasonable prices. I started with a fabulous salmon dish (portion could have been bigger) and mustard chicken breast which was amazing. Very nice side dishes - we had mash, fries and kale, which were all beautifully presented and cooked. Too full for puds but they looked very enticing. My friend and I hunkered down for four hours and were rewarded with a couple of ice cold limoncellos on the house. As we left it was getting dark and they were putting tea lights on the table. I was sorry to leave and I will definitely go back!

Quality Italian cuisine. Lovely atmosphere with lighting now down to a warm level and candle light at the table. Friendly smiley staff. Close to theatre land but so much better than most close to the theatres. Had the daily pasta special and have not had such perfect pasta since we were last in Italy. Next visit we will be back to Four to Eight.

Disappointing meal and experience. Sunday evening was quiet and key items on the menu were not available. The staff were pleasant and obliging although one was seen drinking red wine whilst still on duty. Did not feel the meal lived up to previous reviews and was expensive

One of the best meals I had on my visit to London. I had passed by the restaurant earlier in the week and was hoping they would have a table available but they didn't so I thanked them and left. Just after the door closed the owner came out and gave me his card and that was the tipping point. I was so pleased that he did that it was easy to make reservations and have a delightful meal before the theatre.

The 3 course pre-theatre menu was just what we needed - interesting, well executed and sufficiently varied to please all four of us. It was also well balanced so that we weren't too stuffed to sit comfortably through the show afterwards. Lovely staff.

Nice little restaurant with absolutely amazing food. The service felt a little slow hence the marking of 5 but it was a lunchtime. I would definitely go again and highly recommend them.

Wonderful fresh, beautifully prepared and presented food. We ate from the pre-theatre menu. The stracciatella salad starter was delicious as was my salmon main course, and companion's gnocchi and then pineapple-based dessert. The house red wine was excellent value. Particular compliments on the coffee - best I've tasted outside Italy! Very pleasant stripped-back, immaculately clean environment, quick and "non-invasive" service and blessedly restrained background noise. Will be back!

Fantastic food, friendly service and great atmosphere...one of the nicest pre- and post-theatre restaurants near Covent Garden. Reasonably priced as well. I would definitely recommend
