Really enjoyable place to go. The staff are fantastic-knowledgeable, fun, engaging. The food fabulous-interesting and well presented-I like my food major hot, as in temperature and so that was my only fault not quite hot enough for me.

Easy to find as it is beside the Duchess Theatre. Staff welcoming and very knowledgeable about the food and wine. Attentive, food was wonderful, a great experience. Thank you.

Food was great. However, service was a let down. Waited over an hr for very simple items and tbh not that much food. Waiter didn't ask if we wanted any other drinks.

Looking forward to a nice meal, the adventure started the night before when we were contacted to reconfirm our booking. We were then told that we only had the table until 10pm (our booking was for 8.15). This was never mentioned on the confirmation when we made the booking. So we were surprised to be told this the night before we were due to go for our meal. So if you are booking please double check to see how long you have the table for? When we arrived we were shown to our table and ordered our drinks. Our waitress for the evening was very good and attentive. We order our meals and continued with our evening. The starters were both fantastic, this boded well for the main course. For the main I ordered the Cote de Beef steak at £30. Unfortunately when the steak arrived it was very tough and filled with sinew. It was inedible, our waitress noticed I was having difficulty cutting the meat with my steak knife so she brought over the manager to see the issue. The manager was very apologetic and promptly ordered another one for me. Unfortunately the second one was just as bad so I gave it up as a bad job. Again the manager apologised and arranged for this to be taken off the bill. My wife's main course again as the starters was fantastic. The puddings carried on in the same vain as well. It is a shame that the most expensive steak on the menu was substandard. (I have to say that a group of younger diners on the table next to us had the same steak as me, although they did not complain but you could see that they had left it on there plates, one of them actually ended up eating his partners pasta dish) Unfortunately this overshadowed the evening, I was still hungry when I left. It is a shame because the rest off the food was perfect. Just one last note, there were a lot of spare tables around so I don't know why we were told that our table was only ours until 10pm????

Delicious plates. Good selection of wines (a bit too expensive for the quality). Lovely place. On time for the theatre. We will come back for sure.

Four to Eight is a really lovely place to eat whether in the evening or lunch time. I happened upon it in an internet search and it was right next to the theatre we were going to so it was convenient and turned out to be delightful. We are going back to the restaurant - different theatre this time!

Very odd food - undercooked poached egg on no more than 1/2 a asparagus spear; huge ball of buffalo mozzarella in a bowl of milk and a dollop of aubergine; gnocchi on a mushroom slurry; burnt toast.

The corner table we requested had been reserved, and we enjoyed an excellent meal from the varied choices on the imaginative menu. The food was perfectly prepared and attractively served; my guest was particularly impressed by the duck as his main course. The service of was friendly but unobtrusive, and our waitress (who unlike many of her kind politely waited for a break in our conversation before asking for our orders) was able to describe exactly how the duck was cooked. Very impressive and reasonably priced. I will be back.

The start wasn't good. Despite a confirming email and a telephone call from the restaurant, when we arrived there seemed to be no sign of our reservation. The manager was called and the problem resolved. After that we had a great time. The food was delicious and beautifully presented and the service friendly and pleasant. We weren't rushed but had plenty of time for three courses and coffee before we left to go to the theatre. I will eat here again.

Lovely, friendly restaurant. We ate a selection of the small plates which were all equally delicious. They were finished off nicely with a tiramisu martini!

The menu is limited but the food was lovely, very tasty and well presented. Unfortunately the service was dreadful despite the restaurant not being very busy. We were shown to our table and seated straight away but it took almost 20mins for anyone to even take a drinks order and then they expected to leave us longer before we placed our food order! Courses were served promptly but when we had finished our mains we had a further 20-30min wait before being shown the desert menu which wasn't worth the wait. The wait we experienced occurred even despite asking for assistance, our waitress despite being polite did a very good job of avoiding eye contact and ignoring our avid attempts to get her attention.

Service was really attentive but not over powering. Food was amazing, had the special of stone bass. It was delicious, and we'll seasoned. For drinks we had lots of cocktails, can throughly recommend most of them. Will definitely be going back.

Have visited this delightful restaurant a few occasions now and on every visit the food has been wonderful and beautifully presented. When you combine this with the excellent service you receive I can thoroughly recommend a visit. They also do a pre-theatre menu which makes the whole visit even better value.

Very small portions, for the price they charge. Came away hungry, and had to go somewhere else to fill up. Plus, it annoys me highly when service charge is automatically added.

The food was nice and the staff were all very friendly but the service was extremely slow despite there being very few people in the restaurant. They also seated a table of 6 people right next to us making it difficult for us to hear each other, despite the fact that the rest of the restaurant was virtually empty. It was also expensive !

My second visit here and the food remains excellent with a refreshingly different menu....veal chop was particularly delicious. Wine choice was interesting, if a little high end price-wise. Service was exceptional. Looking forward already to my next visit.

The food is very good, particularly for those who like light portions. Everything was tasty and imaginative and cooked by a very good chef. We would have rated 5, but we did have to wait a rather long time for our main course. Great coffee and a nice biscotti (chocolate) offered with it. All in all a nice experience and not too noisy which is a treat in a London restaurant.

We arrived at 5pm before going on to a play. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly throughout even as the restaurant progressively became busier. The menu isn't the longest but we thought what they did, they did very well indeed. The chicken liver brulee was subtle and delicate, the pasta cooked perfectly and calves liver, while looking like a chunky bit of meat, was deliciously tender. The vegetables ordered as sides were cooked perfectly. The bread was warm and tasty and to round off the meal the artisan cheeses were excellent. We very much enjoyed the meal and the restaurant.

Pleasant pre theatre dinner. Went for set two course dinner. Starter pigs heads croquette was OK, albeit a tad fatty, it came with a piccalilli which helped cut through it . Main course calves liver was excellent with lovely mash and pancetta. Wine was fair value for money and service was attentive.

Third visit. Booked as liked it so much before. Food was excellent quality but felt menu too fancy this time. Previously spoilt for choice as to what to choose but not this time. Previously pricey but worth it. This time pricey and wouldn't go again.
