Further Information

Coming from a strong Italian family and growing up in her dad’s Italian restaurant, it’s no surprise that Grade Café Bar’s owner, Sarah, ended up with a restaurant of her own. This Poynton delight was built off a passion for good food created from traditional European cooking methods. Sourcing local produce wherever they can, as well as creating their own unique house coffee blend, sets Grade Café Bar apart from the pack. Complete with a stylish outdoor terrace, Grade Café Bar is set in a refurbished English Manor along Park Lane in the town centre, giving it a quintessentially English feeling, where you can wile the day away sipping on a glass of wine or a delicious gin and tonic from their extensive gin menu.

No detail has been overlooked in regards to the menu, ranging from tapas dishes to share, like the salmon skewers, black pudding bon bons or gambas pil pil, to more substantial dishes including the mouthwatering lamb tagine and chorizo and chickpea stew. Or perhaps pop in for breakfast to begin your day with their tasty French crumpets paired with a fresh cup of espresso or locally produced tea. Book a table today to indulge in Poynton’s best European inspired bistro. Conveniently located in the town centre, there’s no reason why not.

Absolutely wonderful first visit to the Grand Cafe. Had a truly first rate breakfast ...my wife had the crushed avocado & poached egg on sour dough bread and I had the full English; absolutely scrumptious! we wil, be going back very soon!

What a great place. The staff couldn't do enough for us and were lovely with our little ones. The food was excellent too and we didn't wait very long. Refreshing to see good choice for children too. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely meal and great service . I took my wife here for our monthly date night after a recommendation from my brother in law . We had a tapas style evening meal which was really good . A good selection of dishes were on offer and each one that we had was well presented, hot and very tasty . Very busy but service was very good. Server gave good advice on dishes and how many to order . Fantastic gin menu also !!! Would definitely return in the future !

We booked a table for six on a Friday lunchtime. The food was very good and my need for gluten free food was easily dealt with as anything on the menu could be adapted for my needs. That's great and still quite unusual in restaurants. We were made to feel very welcome and drinks came quickly. However, we did wait a long time for our food and conversation was difficult because it was very noisy. I'm afraid we added quite a lot of noisy talking ourselves. It was much quieter at other times when we chose to eat outside.

I went to Grade for the first time a few months ago and discovered gorgeous food, friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and great Gin...I have taken new friends each time I've been back and they all love it as much as me. A great addition to Poynton

Good atmosphere, appealing decor and freshly prepared food which was presented very attractively and thoughtfully. the food was very good quality and taste. Good range of food available for a 'cafe' including hot meals Would visit more regularly if lived near by but will visit again if in the area and would recommend.

Great food. I think everyone had arrived almost at the same time so food a little slow coming to the table and no promptly asked if we wanted a drink. Didn't get the table we had requested either as the other party had booked via the phone. So lesson learnt there! :(

Excellent food, really well cooked and service was very good. Staff were lovely and friendly. Floor underneath table was sticky with perhaps the spillage of a drink,we did dine towards the end of the lunchtime though and I appreciate they had been busy with children as it was mothers day.
