Good food & good variety of cocktails and excellent service

Lovely meal. Really good service but felt hurried to leave despite the restaurant being quite quiet and there being no need to get the table back. Server arrived with the bill before we’d finished our drinks. Felt rushed

Food was lovely and staff friendly however it was very cold inside despite us highlighting this we were told there was no issue. This made us leave and seek another venue. Music was pretty loud for a Sunday afternoon.

We were a group of 7 having lunch. The service was superb, waiting staff were attentive and very pleasant. Most of us ate from the lunch menu which offered a good choice and at less than £9 for 2 courses was excellent value. The food was really nice too. I have been here several times and have never had a bad experience. Would highly recommend.

Had gone for a quiet drink and meal and didn’t realise there would be a DJ playing loud music. Meal was good and staff were excellent. Might just stick to lunch there

On the whole food was really nice I was just dissapointed with haggis bonbons which were not what I thought- I thought the sauce would be in small jug at side , not Bon bobs swimming in sauce! But reallly enjoyed the rest thank you

Overall we enjoyed a very good experience other than one bar man who had a very bad attitude and manner about him. When I complained about a very flat beer I was greeted with attitude and contempt which I found very disappointing but other than that isolated incident all other staff, service and food were excellent. One bad apple phrase springs to mind but it could be the difference between someone recommending your name or not.

Had a marvellous Sunday lunch. I real find and we will be going back.

It was a rainy day and we arrived early and were greeted with a smile. Our table was ready but when we saw it wasn’t very happy as it was in an awkward spot next to stairs where a large very noisy crowd were seated and the other side was the corridor to the the main bar. Waitress said the noisy table would be leaving soon but we asked for another table which our waitress quickly found for us. Wine ordered , relaxed ,food ordered. My starter was fine but friends salmon starter was huge plate which didn’t look very appetising and could have been presented better just saying.My main course was lovely but again friend s steak sent back as asked for it to be done Medium but had arrived Rare. Anyway same steak brought back to table cooked as ordered and all well. Service was good and we left happy. Oh one other small point not much room between tables which is a bit awkward squeezing past risking knocking drinks over. .

Had a lovely afternoon staff vey pleasant and good very good, but come on Grand Cru Management get something done about those toilets let’s the place down.

Good selection of beer - good menu - pity its frozen chips but the fish was excellent.

Visited during busy Edinburgh Fringe. Excellent value for money using Big Deal Voucher. Great atmosphere and friendly service. Will go again.
