The only slight problem was our table was small - but for an informal get together over a beer and curry this was no problem. I had the lamb madras with nann and it was even better then I remembered from three years ago - still love this place.

This place is everything! The interior is so cool! The food is incredible, the drinks reasonably priced and the service was excellent! We’re visiting for a Star Trek event at the NEC and we felt so welcome by the lassie at the bar (short dark hair, wee legend). Will be back for sure.

Absolutely fantastic. After ten visits the staff knew us by name. Even though we were half an hour early they seated us straight away. Great prompt service, poppadums arrived within two minutes of ordering and the main wasn’t far behind. Mixed Grill was a great portion and excellent quality.

Fantastic food and friendly staff, but the place is a little bit noisy, with televisions with a football match, and busy. Almost before we finish our meal, they were already trying to clean the table, probably for the next customer.

Food eaten : (2 people dining) 1 X plain naan, 1 X large mixed grill 1 X masala fries 1 X Guinness 1 X Mojito Price £34 It was our first time in a desi pub. Traditional pub setting but very well kept establishment. Mixed grill was supposed to do 2-3 people. Retrospectively as I'm extremely greedy I reckon I could have eaten it myself with naan bread and fries as I was still hungry at the end after sharing it with my better half. Food was simple but nicely spiced. The food was all quite moist apart from the lamb chop that was a little cremated. Drinks were good value. I liked the environment you eat in, simple cushioned stools, traditional pub furniture. Toilet was probably the cleanest and nicest I have ever used in a pub! Would definitely come again but I' d order more food!

What a great night we had at the Hen and Chickens, the food was delicious and the portions were very generous. The staff were friendly and helpful and everyone seemed to be having a good time. We will be going there again.

Atmosphere great. Food great and loads of it. No 'chef's recommendations' just great basic tasty curries. Another plus is that it is five minute walk from the metro which was very handy to get to Grand Central.

Nice food but a bit pricey, if you could consider dropping prices.
