Istanbul Turkish Restaurant

Istanbul serves lovely fresh tasting food. The kitchen is open and clean. We enjoyed watching cook the food. The staff were very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Can't fault it, the staff was pleasant, the restaurant was clean and the food was plentiful, we had the sharing platter for 4 £40 But it lacked the wow factor

Istanbul Turkish Restaurant was really tasty, The building is beautiful and staff are really welcoming. Food is unashamedly authentic turkish, can't stay away from this place.

A pleasant change from the usual humdrum of curry houses and "pretend" Mediterranean restaurants (non-Mediterranean owners and chefs cooking pasta, fish and steaks) - this is traditional in every sense. Lovely setting, clean, attentive staff, lovely food, good pricing. Cant fault it on any level. A pleasure.

We didn't think the staff were very friendly , looked a bit miserable when we arrived . starter of meatballs wasn't very warm , thought main dishes could have had a bit more on the plate . we ordered more bread and didn't get it . Managed to get a smile from the manager upon leaving :( No belly dancer either

Quite simply amazing tasty food, lively and lovely suroundings, service very attentive would go there again nice change for a night out total price reasonable

Good location in Blackheath. It was a quiet Saturday night, food was great. Everything is cooked fresh and you can see it being done which is good. Price for this sort of meal and drinks is on par with any restaurant of this sort. Would recommend for anyone wanting to try this sort of food.

After reading various positive reviews I was a little disappointed. Booked table via Quandoo but name was not listed when arrived. Upon being seated we did not get any sauces with the supplied bread whilst other tables did? Service varied depending on who attended table to fulfil request as certain staff appeared to be in training. Overall was not impressed with service however food was tasty

The food was excellent and the service brilliant, friendly staff, lovely place to visit whatever the occasion..this was my third visit and would recommend it highly.

First visit, great service and good food, good value for money. Will definitely be going back more than once, highly recommended, makes a nice change from the usual pub grub or curry options out there.

Never eaten in a Turkish restaurant before so wasn't sure what to expect but from the moment we arrived till we departed we were made to feel welcome. The food was fantastic with generous portions, staff friendly and helpful. It may have been our first visit but certainly won't be the last.

Istanbul is definitely worth a visit. The building is amazing and the staff are friendly. I visit Turkey a lot and wondered if the food would be similar, well just beautiful. Typical turkish open kitchen so you can watch your food been cooked, I will definitely be back. Food and presentation outstanding, thanks for a lovely evening Istanbul.

Lovely night , great food and staff very friendly , they can't do enough for you . Definitely will go again , it's a must .

Delicious food and very friendly staff, made conversation with us whilst waiting for food and gave me a complimentary birthday cocktail and two places of desert on the house. Would love to go back!

What can I say apart from .... Fantastic! The service was the best I've encountered in a very very long time. The food was beautiful.

This was our first visit to the Istanbul. We booked early at 6.00 as we had two children in our party. We were the first diners in but it soon filled up. We were warmly greeted and seated. The menu is extensive so we found it hard to make our choices. There is a children's menu too. The food was excellent, well cooked and delicious, and the portions, including the children's, were generous. The staff were attentive however we did have to wait a quite a while between the starter and main course but that wasn't a problem as we weren't in any hurry. I will recommend the Istanbul to family and friends and we will definitely return.

Great food, great service, great people I will be coming back here soon. As a a suggestion, go for the meze mixed platter, it's a mix of loads of different stuff.

Have never eaten at a Turkish restaurant before, but was made to feel very welcome & the staff helped us with dishes that we were unsure of, the food was excellent !!! Would definately recommend & am definately going back !!!!.

We always have a great time when we use Istanbul and last night was no different. Don't take it from me try it for yourself.
