Great food as well the service,Mario is very attentive to details ! My wife had a Kannat(Lamb Shank with Veggies & Rice ) and I had Chicken & Lamb Kofte, yummy yummy! Definitely we will be back again soon! Great experience and it's on our door step so we can not complain,can we?

Great restaurant, food and atmosphere excellent. We had an amazing experience and would definitely come back and eat here again. A little gem in Blackheath.

Nice old bank building. I ordered the meat mussaka with rice and salad. The rice waa cooked lovely however the mussaka waa like slop, the meat was non existent. One waitress working in the restaurant who was busy chatting to her friend who came in on this very quiet Wednesday evening did not seem bothered about the customers who were in paying for the food. First and last time I will visit.

Excellent food and service could not fault second time here and did not disappoint. Having been to turkey myself the food is just mouthwatering here just like there...

Surprised that on a Friday night the restaurant was almost empty. Whenever I've been before it's been buzzing. Food as lovely as ever. I had sea bass which was perfect. My friend had a mixed plate of meat and thought it very tasty. It was her birthday and she was looking forward to a Marguerita cocktail. However she couldn't have one as the restaurant had no lime.

Nice food cooked to order at a reasonable price. Friendly staff and served quickly. Choice of lamb, chicken and fish and vegetarian food including skewers.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Meat was delicious Nice little touches with olives, turkish delights and bread given on the table as accompaniments with your meal.

Food was as usual, fantastic. A taste sensation. Unfortunately. Our time here easily marred due to the fact. My son wanted a drink, but was unable to be served, due to looking under age. Although he is 21. Also accompanied by myself his Dad and his mother. This made no difference.. However I left my phone behind and was promptly caught and my phone returned. For that I am Grateful. Whilst my wife and I would be happy to return, that is not the case for my San and his girlfriend.

A very enjoyable meal. This was my eighth visit and it didn't disappoint. The food is always excellent. The staff always attentive. Highly recommended book ahead if going on a Saturday.

Great food and very good service. The portions are larger than I expected too. The baklava is wonderful, as is the whitebait. Will definitely be returning.

It was nice. It was expecting a little more but the food was nice and the atmosphere was good. Will hopefully return to try it again.

I went with a friend mid week, a Wednesday do underdtdndably a bit quiet but even so the food was still the good quality I've come to know at Istanbul.

Brilliant food atmosphere and great service with quality staff. always had a great meal so would highly recommend. try the mezzo cold and hot great.

The Food and service were very Good It was my lack of knowledge for Turkish food and what to order I think I will have to research this and try again.

Restaurant lacks atmosphere and the food wasn't authentic enough for me. The rice was lumpy and meat a little over cooked. Would have been nice to have seen chilli tomato salad on menu. Overall cheap and cheerful though but wouldn't rush back.

Lovely service and friendly staff . Abit more variety would be nice but food was lovely . Prices were a reasonable price also , would recommend a visit.

The usual great food and atmosphere with excellent friendly staff. The only reason I scored a 5 and not a 6 was they had run out of several food choices.

Had a great evening food really good and service efficient. Lovely way to start Mothers day weekend. Would go back like a shot any time. Would happily recommend to anyone.

First time here - excellent food! Chicken wings were a wee bit salty, but lamb was very fresh and tasty. I would highly recommend this spot.

The food was delicious and there wasn't a long wait between dishes either, there was also a great choice of vegetarian options that my girlfriend could choose from. The staff were friendly and accomadating! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others!

The restaurant was so cold and had no atmosphere. The waitress looked miserable and gave no service. The food tasted nice but waited over an hour for it to come which i could have understood as we were a large party, however there were literally no other tables there! The restaurant is soooo overpriced. If i wanted to pay £13-15 for a main course then there are plently more restaurants of better quality that i could go to!

Always great food and great service. I've been a few times now and had a great time on each occasion. The service is always attentive and unrushed. Well done Istanbul

We holiday in turkey every year and love the food and people so was pleased to hear that there was aTurkish restaurant not far away. It was my birthday so I thought We would try the Istanbul. So glad we did as our meals were excellent, staff pleasant and efficient and would not hesitate to recommend. Thank you for a lovely evening.Hope to return again soon.

Friendly family oriented atmosphere. Expansive menu,but we tried the sharing platter for 2 which was delicious and plentiful. Also had the Baklava and at the waiters recommendation Apple tea was surprisingly refreshing. Will definitely visit again. Thank you.

Great food and service. Went for the first time New Year's Eve and was very impressed. Wasn't disappointed on my return visit. Well worth trying.

Excellent food, great ambiance, welcoming staff and value for money What more could you want in restaurant? Our first visit and definitely not our last!

I booked our table for a Saturday night through Quandoo which was effortless and the web site was easy to use. The feel of the restaurant was good especially with the open kitchen. We ordered drinks, starter and a main within a few minutes of sitting down. The drinks came fairly quickly as did the starter but we waited over an hour from the end of the starter to when the mains turned up which in my opinion was a bit to long. The quality of the food was ok but due to the wait this made my first visit to Istanbul a little disappointing.

Reservation was ok, table waiting for when we got there. We ordered and that's when problems started we waited over 1 hr and still no starters then after complaining a few times staters turned up but they were not all ours orders had got mixed up somewhere. Eventually after 1.15hrs we got the starters. Then we had to wait another 45mins for the main and again they got them mixed up. Several people that came in after us were served before us, never got an explanation as to what went wrong. On the positive side when we did get the food it was excellent, all very nice and tasty. Waiter did eventually apologise and gave us a bottle of wine but they really need to have a look at what happened in order to prevent s reoccurrence.

The food was good & the staff very friendly but we waited quite a while for our food. We went on New Years Eve & it was busy. I would go again.

This restaurant has the best food iv had in a long time , the staff are very friendly and welcoming, we didn't have to wait long for our starters , it was lovely well presented and very tasty will definitely be going back

The food was absolutely excellent. There is a great choice of food and drink on the menu. The Turkish Efes beer was fantastic too. The service was really good and we had a fantastic night. I would recommend it to anyone.

we have been to the restaurant before and asked friends to join us this time, everything was first class the food was amazing and us and our friends really enjoyed it, cant fault this restaurant at all.

This restaurant had a great atmosphere, the smell as you walked in was delicious! The staff were really friendly and the food was amazing. Some lovely touches with the complimentary items before and after the meal. Will be visiting again soon.

Food was nice, portions reasonable. Service was good. Nothing to fault really. We visited early on a Saturday evening, it was clearly busy by the time we left.

Third visit here as usual food and service was brilliant waiter who served us was lovely and very helpful cant wait to go again in the very near future

Lovely food, the staff were pleasant. Drinks a bit pricey £3.50 for Turkish beer £2 for a bottle of Perrier. We would return again though

Starter was very good, main meals were not ie, meat chewy and tough and the Saute Chicken didn't have much taste. Service was okay ie, perfunctory but we never got asked if we wanted dessert. Shame as had hard heard a good report about this place but won't be back!

Food is delicious and such a reasonable price for what you get. Great to have some different cuisine locally! Friendly service and very Highly recommended

Fab food. Set menu for 2 or 4 excellent value, Wine and Turkish beet very good value. Service very good and atmosphere lovely. Definitely go again.

This was my second time here last time not long after it opened .But it was my husbands first time although quite we found service hit and miss with female staff being excellent but the male member hit and miss . The food we ordered was excellent and good value and up to paying would easily come back. But after finishing are meal and drinks we where left waiting to get someone's attention to pay our bill the female waitress had gone on a break , the male waiter was engrossed in a conversation with the only other table in the place and we could have easily walked out without paying. What I would like the restaurant to take is service is paramount and ALL customers matter

The restaurant was in a converted bank, which gives it an unusual ambiance. We were given olives and bread with dips to start which was lovely. The meal was excellent and the service, will be returning soon.

As always the food was excellent, good quality, nicely presented and great value. Love the atmosphere in there with lovely staff that are polite. Well done Istanbul.

In the old Bank Building with high ceiling and traditional lighting added to the friendly efficient service and the food was both excellent and plentiful.
