Great food service a little slow but staff very friendly 🎉 Restuant beautifully decorated and comfortable As it very new in Heaton Moor the owners need to be congratulated on overall effect Will defo be back 👍🎉

This was my 5th visit this year and this place never fails to disappoint. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary and this visit finished a week of celebrations. Food, service was fantastic as expected Thanks to the chefs and service staff at The Istanbul.

Brilliant staff and the food is die for we going nearly every Saturday and couldn't ask for a better service. if you wanna try a different type of food this is the place!!!

Great tasting, freshly prepared food - salad vegetables with proper crunch! Excellent, friendly service without being over-eager and hovering. The portion sizes are good and filling without being wasteful, and overall Istanbul offers superb value for money. Oh, and if you've never tried Turkish wines before you don't know what you have been missing.

we had a lovely meal with friends on Saturday evening, the food was very good and we are looking forward to trying more of the dishes on the menu. The Staff were very friendly too.

Turkish food in Blackheath! It was worth a try. The service was very friendly and efficient . The meals were huge, so if you have a big appetite this is the place for you. If you haven't I'd recommend that you just go for a main. The quality of the was okay, that said we'll try it again due to the variety of dishes to choose from.

Little expensive for the location. Decor and service was very good. The Food just let it down a little for me. Average rating I'm afraid.

We were a party of 8, aged from 5 to 65. The service was excellent. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet they were efficient. Very welcoming. My grand-daughter was fascinated watching the food being cooked. We were not rushed. The menu is very varied - not everything is hot and spicy but that is available for those who want it. The food was superbly cooked and was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone. I will certainly be back when I next visit my daughter or I might sample one of the take aways.

Great meal. Service excellent. Tried the Turkish white wine - very impressed. Mixed hot platter to start was very nicely presented and tasty. Mains were very good too.

The food here is excellent. The staff are lovely but the service is very slow if they are busy. There is a real Turkish atmosphere and the prices are very reasonable

Have eaten here many times but not with a party of 12 before. The food all came out at the same time, was well presented and tasted great. Really good value for money too!

Second time I have visited here, and still impressed by the portion sizes,the waiting staff are very polite and attentive. Will be visiting again with other family members.

I went to this restaurant with my husband and grandchildren, it was very clean an the waiters were extremely polite. The food was just like we have eaten in turkey and very delicious. My only thoughts are do not go on a Sunday afternoon if you want a true Turkish experience, as it was very quiet, although that could have been the weather. I will certainly go again and again. My grandchild children aged 14 & 12 had never experience Turkish food but demolished everything that was put in front of them.

Popular restaurant. Busy with repeat visitors which speaks volumes. Attentive staff and great value for money authentic food. Bit dark for us at night to read the menu, they brought us a tea light but we could have used a torch! We loved it and can't wait to return.

The best Turkish food outside of Turkey....you feel as if you are on holiday.great service...can't wait to return.the mixed hot stater was gorgeous and they bring more flat bread if you ask them.lovely mains and sweets to die for...just go!!

The food was lovely. I had whitebait starter. It was fab. Then we had the sharing platter for 2 for our main. This was really good too. The portion sizes are massive. The staff were lovely.

Excellent food, very good service. Just think the decor could have made more of the old bank and it features. Would recommend for a good meal.

Excellent atmosphere, service and amibiance. The food is the real winner though as it was top notch and ample size. So much so they allowed us to take a doggy bag with us!

Excellent service and the quality of the food was also superb. We had the mezze platter. Wow. Try the turkish beer efes also very good. Would recommend a visit.

Unfortunately, even though we had booked through Quandoo, the restaurant weren't expecting us. They were, however, very accommodating and found two places at the end of a table for eight which was set for a party expected later (an hour and a half after we arrived so we didn't have to rush). The food was very good and served quickly (we only ordered a main but were served a free starter of dips and flat bread). The restaurant was quite busy and became a bit noisy (probably due to the high ceilings - it used to be a bank) but, overall, a pleasant experience.

Good authentic Turkish food very friendly and helpful staff a welcome change from Indian restaurants. Would recommend to friends, will definitely pay another visit in the near future.

This is our 2nd visit. The food is fresh and really tasty. Love how you can see the meat being cooked. The service is also good. We will definitely visit again.

Great restaurant, tasty food and big portions of food. Would definitely recommend trying even if you're not keen on Turkish food! Plus we had complimentary fruit teas at the end of the meal.

Enjoyed our trip, good atmosphere, food cooked fresh, good value, and good food. They do seem to have some turkish wines-but when i ordered a bottle of house red, was told it was turkish, but was in fact italian-would certainly go back again

Fabulous, tasty and healthy food; excellent wine; extremely patient and attentive waiters; pleasant surroundings. We had a super evening! I would recommend The Istanbul without hesitation.

Much improved. I visited this restaurant in the first week of opening and was disappointed with the service and the overall ambience of the place although the food was good. However, my friends and I decided to give the place another visit after hearing recent reviews. I am pleased to say that we had a lovely evening. The food was excellent and the service was very good. Will definitely be returning.

The food was great and the menu offered many options to choose from. We chose the platter for 2 which was really good value for money. The place had a nice feel to it and the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Extensive menu for starters and mains but limited pudding choice (meals are very filling so could not manage a pudding). Food and service are excellent. Restaurant is very clean. Free cup of tea at the end of the meal . Recommend the apple tea. Free piece of Turkish delight each at the end of the meal.

Visited the restaurant mid week with a friend who had not been before. We received the usual high standard of food and service that takes me back there and won my friend over completely as she also plans to return. Well done.

Food was very good - not exceptional, but very good, tasty and plenty of it. A really nice change to Chinese, Indian, pub grub, burgers. Service tonight was great. Absolutely recommend it.

Food was amazing as always. Service was a lot faster then previous visit. Looking forward to my next visit. Little disappointed in desert (tiramisu) as the front was melted and warm and back was freezing. Like it had been put in microwave

Fresh and delicious food. We all enjoyed our visit and I will definitely be coming back and telling everyone to try this hidden gem. The Efes Turkish beer was tasty and we had wonderful meals. My boyfriend is a veggie and he loved it!

We always enjoy our visits to Istanbul, great atmosphere, gorgeous food, quirky building and great value for money. Went with a friend that had not been before and she also was very impressed. Lovely evening as always.
