I was disappointed to see a 10% service charge added to the bill, and even more so to be asked—in front of my guest—whether I wanted it removed. In the UK, tipping is discretionary and should be left to the customer’s initiative, not prompted in this way. I also found this situation uncomfortable and inappropriate in a customer setting. Given your pricing, I would expect staff to be compensated without placing customers in that position. I hope you can review this practice going forward.

First time going. It was absolutely delicious. Every bite, service was great, food was amazing. Loved it, lovely place!

Overall a good Sunday lunch, however as it was a fixed menu and it was obvious that courses were pre prepared. The starter was tasty but only just warm and came out within minutes of us sitting down. The main was lovely, however the potatoes were way over cooked and as such were just brittle crispy cubes with no soft centre - again an issue caused by too much pre prep. The meat and carrots were delicious, however, the filled Yorkshire would have been amazing but was way too sweet...needs toning down a bit in that respect. Dessert was lovely, a great adaptation on a normal sticky toffee pudding. Staff were great, however, as usual (have been here multiple times) the lady manger (mother I think), was quite abrupt and over bearing, comes across with an attitude that you should feel privileged and grateful to be there. Having said a that I would always eat there again the food is good.

Overall experience was excellent and lived up to recommendations from friends. Good food and friendly staa.

We had a lovely birthday celebration at Jack O'Bryan. They accomodated our allergies and there was a lot of gluten free food to choose from. The steak was cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef, and the staff was very nice.

Wonderful food as always at Jack ‘O’ Bryan’s. The small plates menu for lunch offers great variety and value for money, and food that is not available anywhere else in Dunfermline.

Fantastic food. We personally found the menu confusing and could hear other people asking the same questions! They need to separate the sides from the mains. It wasn't clear which was which! Then it would be super. We were not asked if we were enjoying our meal despite it being quiet! Despite that we would still revisit. 👍

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal tonight. Never not enjoyed our meals here. Tonight had black pudding starter and chicken bourbon main, hubby had lamb starter and cod piri piri. One of the best places in Dunfermline, we will be there again.

Visited for a meal for two with my wife, great staff welcome and introduction to the menu choices including specials for the day. Drink and food order taken efficiently, drinks and then courses appeared in good order at a relaxing pace. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by both of us, all in all, a very enjoyable dining experience!

Great restaurant. Generally good service and lovely food and wine for a reasonable price. Not keen on our table beside the entrance to the toilets but otherwise the meal was very good.
