Food and service was exceptional. Definitely worth a visit without a doubt.
Lovely staff. Very attentive and no rushing. Amazing Bhuna. Very reasonably priced
Great service and lovely food. We really enjoyed it. Highly recommended.
Enjoyable evening and great food, lovely surroundings and good service
The food was of an average standard not very authentic and the chicken was hard . The service was poor as the staff just seemed rushed of their feet and processing customers
Food was superbly cooked and tasted delicious. Made to feel very very welcome. Will definitely be going back.
Food ok - service slow and unprofessional - unlikely to return
Warm welcome, great service, good food. So lucky to have this as our local
Amazing food and great service in a very good location, very highly reccomended
Really good food, waitress was a bit clumsy and hard to understand, order was wrong but quickly corrected. Would recommend.
Wow the food was absolutely fantastic, great service. Would thoroughly recommend!!
Beautifully cooked and presented food but unfortunately the restaurant was empty (8pm on a weeknight) when we visited so it lacked the warm atmosphere we had hoped for and all felt a bit "flat". The Member of staff on duty was friendly and attentive but refused to honour the special offer that is advertised on their own website which was disappointing. Quality of food and ingredients is clearly good but old fashioned ideas like charging extra for a tiny chutney tray to go with already expensive poppadoms and starters seems petty. Would we visit again? Maybe due to the excellent quality of main course but only on a weekend or if there was a group of us to create our own atmosphere.
The food is simply fantastic. From the decor to all the staff 10/10. It's a must try place.
Great local indian restaurant but a little pricey compared to other small local restaurants
Very friendly staff, food was beautiful, so so tasty! 👍🏻
Very enjoyable meal. Good choice of dishes. Food was full of flavours, lovely naan bread, good selection of wine, great service. I will revisit with family and friends.
Nice touch that the staff realised that it was our first visit and asked if we had enjoyed our experience - that personal touch is invaluable.
Great food and great service. We had a very enjoyable evening. Onion bhajis are still the best than anywhere else and the curries were full of flavour.
Slow service, wrong order and not the best curry in the world. I I I I I I I I iii ii I ii i
Had a wonderful evening at this gem of a restaurant. Amazing, fresh food. Staff extremely friendly and attentive but discreet. Relaxed, modern atmosphere. Would highly recommend it to anyone!
Great staff, warm and friendly. Not long to wait and also a very interesting menu, not big but different. The prices are very fair and inline with other restaurants.
Beautiful curry. Very tasty & great service. We decided to try it for a change from our normal curry house. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend
Great meal at Janaki on a Saturday evening. Freshly made Nan Breads are the very best, Delicious! Staff are all very friendly and attentive. Well worth a visit.
Friendly attentive staff, good food. Just what we wanted. A very pleasant couple of hours. This was the second time in a month, both excellent experiences.
Good service and great food. 2nd time I’ve visited and I will definitely return. It's nice to have staff who are attentive yet unobtrusive. It was very relaxing.
great meal and all round service every time we visit
After reading some rave reviews online (namely Facebook) we booked a table quite last minute. On our arrival the restaurant was busy with two large groups and several smaller tables. Our table was not ready straight away which was not a problem and we were seated within 5 minutes. We were promptly offered poppadoms which arrived within minutes and then the drinks order was taken. The chutney tray consists of a very runny mango sauce, an ok onion chutney and a mint yoghurt which was very bitter and tasted as if the yoghurt had turned. The drinks arrived in a timely manner but I was rather shocked by the price of a pint of diet coke (£4.50!). Our drinks were served with plastic straws which did not not reach the bottom of the glass. This is something that could be done away with as not only will it help the environment but also save you money. It then took about 20 minutes for our order to be taken. I asked for a lemon rice which was not on the menu but I was told that it was not possible and I could only order off the menu. I have never had this response from any other Indian restaurant even if it is not on the menu. My starter was a plate of fried potatoes with a sprinkle of seasoning on top. Not what I was expecting. My partner had the chicken and mushroom starter which was very underwhelming. We then waited another 30 minutes for our mains. My chicken Karahi was bland and the chicken was very tough to the point that I left most of it. The boiled rice was as expected. The description of the rogan josh said it was served with peppers and sounded very much like a jalfrezi. However, when it arrived it was a rather undescript curry with no peppers and neither a rogan josh nor jalfrezi. The chicken in the rogan josh was also tough however my partner was hungry so just ate it. I am genuinely upset that we did not enjoy our experience and will probably not be returning in the near future. We had read such great reviews and there had been a lot of advertising on Facebook. I completely understand that it was a busy Saturday night and that the restaurant was full on our arrival but there were only 2 waiting staff serving the downstairs area. With regards to the tough chicken, it may be that we just had one or two bad dishes out of all thise severed but a comment was made by the table next to us that the lamb was also tough so maybe it is something that need to be looked into. Overall I could not recommend this restaurant based on our experience from last night.
Great service Great food Great fun had by all. Would definitely go back next time me we are up at the NEC with work. If you are local and you haven’t been here you should!
Great food, pricey for what it is. Location is great as is the decor of the resturant. Would have given a higher score if the food was a little cheaper. We paid £48 for three starters, one main with rice and nan and 2 beers
Went recently for Fathers Day there was 12 of us the food was delicious and the service was excellent I would highly recommend the chicken pakora 😊
Fantastic food and first class friendly service. Every time we go here the staff are lovely and always accommodating with specific requirements/ special dishes. I would highly recommend.
Food is delicious. Service so so ! Hardly see a smile from the manger. I ordered a lime soda it came with half of half pint cost 2.5 £! And costed me 0.5 £ extra for a half thin piece of line. Overpriced for everything.
Lovely food with great service, food all fresh. Looking forward to going back. If like me you are unsure of what to have, the advice I was given was 1st class and spot on . Thank you.
It’s been years since we’ve been to Janaki’s but as it’s so local we thought we would try it again. I’m so glad we did. The food was excellent, prawns perfectly cooked, succulent and juicy, and nice and spicy. We were even given a tour of the kitchen and shown all the fresh ingredients. Kitchen was very clean and neat considering it was mid service. Will definitely return.
Friday 6th April family meal first time at Janaki great welcome, different menu, great food, great service good atmosphere and we will be back very soon.
Lovely as ever - warm, welcoming restaurant serving good food. It doesn't try to be the best, but does very good, very well! To be recommended
Good overall food and service. Interestingly created dishes. Main mixed grill too small and lacking in variety however. Would expect more for the price. Still recommended.
Came here early on a Saturday evening after reading good reviews and was not disappointed - the food and service were both brilliant and we were able to park right outside. Will definitely be back.
As ever a first class curry coupled with excellent service. Take the opportunity to speak to the owner and ask him for any recommendations he goes out of his way to please
Bland food.... first curry I’ve ever had where you can’t actually identify a single spice. Not good, definite wouldn’t recommend. Dozens of better restaurants to chose from in the Solihull area.
