Kayal - Leicester

We went to Kayal for our annual team Christmas lunch, and as usual thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. Thank you

First time visit certainly won't be the last excellent food.

We booked our work Christmas 'Do at Kayal. The starter and main was great, but the 3 courses (plated starter / various curries on the table / ice cream dessert took over 4 hours. There was hours of waiting around and drinks ordered never came. I did complain and service charge was removed but we missed our booked activity because of the time delays. Was a little steep at £31pp but expected at Christmas.

If you want Indian food like you've never had before head to Kayal! Along with friendly, efficient service is an absolute must to try!

The staff were all friendly and efficient. Food recommendations made worked very well. We were given an extra small portion of curry that was really tasty. All meals were flavoursome with heat that built but never over powered.

Great service and food, and good value. Would recommend it.

Weird food and snotty atmosphere. Judgy waiter being weird as my card didn't go through insisted on me trying another then it asked for the pin number to that but I had the pin to the first card and had to look up the pin for the, second card on my phone and unfreeze my card and all the time the men in the other table sat whatching like it was some sort of entertainment. Not for us!

Unbelievably brilliant food... especially the tilapia and the aubergine curry. Delightful service as well

Our overall experience was excellent as usual. My one comment would be that we were a table of 5 sat at what was a table for four and could have done with a little more room. My only complaint is about the booking process - I booked on line 10 days or so in advance and got no co0nfirmation of booking until the morning of the booking. As I was going away until the date of the booking, I called Kayal directly and made a booking over the phone. I got an email from Quandoo on the morning of the booking confirming. Poor communications.

Kayal were very accommodating to our expanded party of 12. Service was prompt and professional. We were well looked after and food was absolutely delicious.

Food was great but could have been a little hotter, food was just warm.

My sister's first visit. For me, just glad to try the crab curry again. (I note it is now described as a "messy" experience on the menu! Very much worth it though.

Great meal and great service in a lovely atmospheric restaurant. A lovely surprise and a very unusual menu. The food was absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you love authentic cooking.

We booked a table for a university reunion. We were quickly seated and service was generally good. The food on the other hand was special. Really different to the standard Indian restaurant and very tasty. We would definitely dine here again!

The food is always incredible and the service is wonderful- the staff really go above and beyond and are so lovely. I wanted to tip vis the card machine but was disappointed that this doesn’t go directly to staff, so I will bring cash next time, as it is them who deserves a tip for all their hard work.

Received a warm welcome on arrival and shown straight to our table. Service was timely and friendly; there was even a magician who was incredibly entertaining. The food was simply amazing; it was hot, tasty and had a wonderful fragrance.

As always Kayal delivered again - great evening, amazing food

The food here is fabulous and I can’t believe I’ve left it so long before going back. Particular highlights are the paper dosa, the fish curry and the appam. It’s all to die for!!

Lovely food, very friendly staff. Caters well for meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians. Try the seafood biryani - recommended.

As always, the food at Kayal was superb, the atmosphere was warm and easy and the staff were just lovely … friendly, professional and gently efficient. Fabulous evening for five good friends reuniting. Thank you!
