As we’ve already established, Konkana is an inventive Indian restaurant in Brunstfield, Edinburgh with a serious focus on seafood and fish. From its central location on Leven Street, Edinburgh locals can avail of all the wonder of the sea served up in spectacular Indian dishes unlike any you’ve ever tasted before. Kick things off with a selection of appetizers to share – we love the Amritsari fish tikka with locally-sourced fish in a gram flour batter with ajwain, spicy herbs, tamarind and mint chutney and the fresh chilli squid served with red cabbage, carrot salad and Thai mayonnaise.

For the main event at Konkana Edinburgh, how about some spicy agni lobster prepared with curry leaves, kokum, lime and cooked with glazed onions? Excellent food, if anything the service was a bit rushed and I had to ask for water twice. But hey I'm being picky here. 😀

Excellent food with plenty of choice. Definitely a cut above the average Indian restaurant. Good service too. Appears to have inherited the furnishings from the Italian restaurant which previously was located here, so some of the chairs look rather grubby and worn, but everything else is very clean.
