Food was tasty and well presented. Service was quick and attentive. Portions were quite small and nan very thin. Overall good but pricey for portion sizes.

Absolutely delicious from start to finish, the sea bass starter and crab whole meal I had were full of flavour and spice, and everything the rest of my companions had (that I tried) was amazing too. Waitstaff were also lovely and attentive. Highly recommend this wee hidden gem, I will be back!

Party of four all had different starters and mains. Food was excellent and well presented by our friendly and efficient waiter. Surprised it was so quiet as this restaurant lived up to expectations in providing well cooked fresh fish dishes in delicious sauces. Well done.

As usual the food quality was very good although the portions appeared a bit smaller than previous occasions! The service was excellent from a new young waiter. Once again the restaurant was relatively quiet. This is a good place that is definitely worth a try!

Food was just ok, some fish dishes were bland. Ambience is poor and the loo was very dirty. Overall only few dishes were a hit.

Excellent food and attentive service. Disappointed that the soft shelled crab wasn't available but this was due to poor fishing conditions. Surprised that it wasn't busier at 7.30 on a Friday evening.

Hi, we went as a group of six for a pre theatre meal. Enjoyed trying something a little bit different and the food was good. In particular, the Konkan sea bass was grilled perfectly. I realise the restaurant is new so may be beneficial to give a little feedback. Unfortunately the restaurant was cold which was a shame as the meal itself was good. However, staff need to put the heating on prior to opening up. Incidentally when we arrived at 5:30 for our 5:30 booking the doors were locked and the lights were out. Finally, I thought the price was quite expensive compared to alternatives in the area - may be worth considering offering a pre theatre menu?

Excellent food. A very good take in fusion. We ordered lobster and sea bass both were excellent and starter chilli squid was fantastic. Would love to go back

The food was very fresh, full of flavour and very tasty. The Service was excellent. I would certainly visit again. The speciality and focus on seafood makes this a welcome addition to eating out in Edinburgh.

Very good food in this relatively new specialty restaurant. Good variety in the menu together with a good wine and drinks list make for a pleasant and relaxed evening.

The service was quite slow. It was a Friday evening and there were only two very busy waiters serving quite a full restaurant. The food was fine, if a little disappointing. Our squid starters were good and the fish main dishes OK - fillets of fish swimming in curry sauce - nothing special. It just didn't have the 'wow' factor for us.

The flavours of the seafood and sauces were superb, I couldn't recommend it more highly. If you like soft shell crabs and scallops, don't miss it.

Very tasty seafood curries in very but nice modern surroundings. The service could be a bit quicker, given the restaurant was less than half full. On the whole a good experience.

Food was good but service not very great. Last time I went both food and service were excellent, this time did not feel as valued as a customer

Excellent food, if anything the service was a bit rushed and I had to ask for water twice. But hey I'm being picky here. 😀

Excellent food with plenty of choice. Definitely a cut above the average Indian restaurant. Good service too. Appears to have inherited the furnishings from the Italian restaurant which previously was located here, so some of the chairs look rather grubby and worn, but everything else is very clean.

Montana is situated just beside the Kings Theatre so very handy to eat at before shows. Good selection of seafood on the menu. A bit of a wait for the starters.

Service was a little slow as when we arrived there was only one person working to serve several customers, however it was obvious he was trying really hard to please everyone. That said the Food was Fabulous!! And although slow the service was very friendly and helpful. Later a young lady came and asked us about our meal. All done in time for us to get to the theatre. Thank you. We will be back!!

On arrival at 7.00pm we found the restaurant to have two diners having their meal. We were asked if we had booked which we had done, table for two 7.00pm and our booking name. Table for 7 came the reply,no 2 for 7. We were seated in front of the bar, nice decor and very comfortable seats. Our order for food and wine was taken. We shared the Chilli squid starter and it was very good, well cooked and well flavoured and presented. Our wine arrived beforehand after what seemed to be a bit of a struggle to get the cork out. Excellent Portuguese red. After we finished our starter the waiter told me they had no crab for my Konkani crab curry. This was strange as it had been at least twenty minutes since we ordered and there were only four diners in the restaurant. new dish ordered Chicken Chettinadu . Our food arrived, the other dish being Mumbai Masala, lemon rice and a Peshwari nan. Both mains were well cooked and flavoursome but the lemon rice was disappointing flavour missing. The nan was ok but devoid of great flavour and filling. We were asked if we enjoyed our food and said yes but the lemon rice was a bit of a let down. It was taken off our bill. The bar looked a bit sad and the restaurant was not busy although another seven covers had appeared. The wine glasses on the bar gantry all looked like they had been there quite a while and had no sparkle to them and indeed they were very standard not fancy. Overall interesting experience. If the restaurant had been busier they may well have had a problem because there seemed to be two in the kitchen, one behind the bar and one waiter. A seafood restaurant without crab is a first for me. As the evening wore on the aircon was switched to cool an already cool restaurant. We asked along with another two diners that they switch it off and this was done. The starter was generous for one but very suitable for two. Mains just right.

Not one other person in the restaurant when we arrived for lunch at 1.30pm on a Saturday afternoon. Seventeen 5 star reviews on the site all posted by people with Asian sounding names. Bit suspicious! We walked out without eating so cannot comment on the food.

This relatively new Indian restaurant with a focus on fish dishes is excellent. I had the squid followed by soft shell crab and my wife had chicken tikka followed by lamb shank— both were superb. Not too spicy— just right! Definitely worth a try.
