Since the 1980s La Fiorentina Ristorante has been the flagship of good Italian eating in and around the city centre of Glasgow. With a chestful of awards in tow, this charming restaurant on Paisley Road West has helped lead the city’s restaurant revival, and it remains one of Glasgow’s best loved and most respected Italian eateries. Housed in a gorgeous, typically Glaswegian stone building, La Fiorentina is elegantly adorned to evoke the bustling trattorias of northern Italy. It has the food to match, too. Go straight into their lengthy antipasto menu featuring a few unique creations – the haggis Toscano is an old favourite. Or trust La Fiorentina’s knowledge with the chef’s specials, set business lunch menus or fabulous Sunday roast spread, all featuring beautiful incarnations of Italian classics like tiramisu, penne arrabbiata, minestrone, stonebaked pizza and far too many others to name.
Disappointed. Was supposed to be a special night for a concert. Food was good, as usual, but nothing special about it. No specific music to suit concertgoers. But biggest problem was chaos getting bill. As most people were going to concert most people were getting bill around same time. But no allowance for this so we had to wait, in spite of asking for it 3 times, then had to go to a desk and join a queue. And then we were overcharged, though corrected promptly. Need to staff appropriately if organizing a special night!
Excellent food and service tried the business menu £6.95 + cost of drinks. Service was efficient and food piping hot. Would recommend this restaurant and will be back.
