Named after the world-famous opera house in Milan, La Scala is certainly one of the most renowned Italian restaurants in Westhoughton and, indeed, Bolton. Not surprisingly, the focus is on authentic food that is complemented every step of the way by an extensive selection of wines. To be found on Chorley Road – not far from Westhoughton train station – sitting in in La Scala you’ll be surrounded, but not overwhelmed by Roman columns and interesting ceiling murals. The a la carte menu boasts a long list of antipasti, perfectly cooked pasta, risotto and plenty of pizzas. Of course, there are also prime meats, the fillet of beef with Madeira wine sauce and pate being our pick of them all. Bolton loves La Scala, and you will, too. Reserve a table now.
Lovely food, great atmosphere. Fab place for families and couples alike. Large choice of food. More veg would be nice with the main course. Would go back though.
Great choice of food the early bird menu is definitely good value for money. fast and efficient service. All staff very friendly and polite. would definitely go again.
Went on a Tuesday night with friends seven of us altogether, had a drink in the bar first. Very good service and a nice surprise was the early bird menu was available until 10 pm on a Tuesday, consisting of 3 courses for £14.99 A most enjoyable evening.
We used to go here on a regular basis as it was my wifes favourite restaurant but we moved out of the district and havent been for some 14yrs . As a surprize to my wife for valentines day myself and our two boys booked a table here and wow ,,, it has got even better the food was superb , the staff were superb and we were not dissapointed , we will be back and we do highly recommend you pay a visit here at lascala ,,,,,
This is our favourite restaurant and the food was amazing as usual but the service was non existant. We had to chase up a drink order after it was completely forgotten. Then later my husband had to get up and interrupt the staff chatting to order drinks as nobody had been near our table for some time. The staff were not in the dining area at all but busy doing other things away from the customers. This is not what we normally experience at La Scala and we were really disappointed. We will be going back for our Daughter's birthday celebration and hope that things have seriously improved. If not, sadly, it will be our last visit.
First visit to the restaurant and have to say I was pretty impressed! Lovely welcome and very attentive staff without being too intrusive. We visited in a Thursday evening last minute decision to book and it was a good job that we did as the restaurant was very busy. Food was amazing will definitely return and recommend....Thank you La Scala
Not been to La Scala for quite some time (don't know why) we went on the early diner. Definitely no complaints we were shown to a nice table excellent service from start to end. The food was lovely nothing to much trouble will not leave as long to revisit next time. Thank you for a lovely meal and evening
La Scala has a really good atmosphere with a really good menu. The menu features Pasta's and Pizza's as well as a range of steaks as well as fish and chicken dishes. There really is something for everyone at La Scala. Recommended and overall its good value.
La Scala is a nice family run restaurant in a converted pub. This is the second time eating here. The food was nice enough and hot, the service is good, I 'd probably eat there again as its a nice place for a family meal and close, however being picky and having eaten in a few Italians in and around Manchester, I feel they could improve on the Veg selection, Broccoli, Carrots and Roast spuds is a bit boring to be honest, I'd have preferred something a bit more Mediterranean / imaginative...Maybe other locals prefer the "traditional British veg"? Price wise, I think its a little expensive given the veg that you get with the Carne dishes.... The olives were well below par...seems like they came from a jar from the local Asda, small, over ripe and drowning in juice,...really not very nice. Their Tiramisu however is very, very nice and their choice of coffee is a good, solid and packs a punch and best served black.
This was the first time my wife and I had been for quite a while. We booked online which made things a lot simpler and was pleasantly surprised how efficient it was. On arrival we were shown to our table straight away and ordered from the early bird menu. The meals arrived quickly and were hot. Even though the restaurant got very busy we didn't feel rushed and enjoyed our meal. Overall the experience was very good. Would definitely recommend and will be going again.
