The service was impeccable. The starters were good. We were disappointed with the steak. It was grissly and we were offered not to be charged for this but as we prepaid we were not given a refund, only a glass of wine. There was a hair found in my wife's icecream. Despite being informed on reservation one of the guests was gluten free and it is advertised in the restaurant, this was not accommodated for. We were only told what she couldn't have which meant some of the parts of the courses were missing and no gluten free bread was offered.

2nd time to this restaurant. Excellent food and great value for money. However, the service this time wasn't quite up to the 1st time. Still, it's worth a try for the tasty food.

Traditional French bistro menu. Good food and very attentive service. We had the set menu (three courses, plus a glass of cremant, for £38) on a Friday evening in September 2016. There was plenty of choice with each course and the food was delicious. Very good value for money. Maeve

The food was fantastic, the restaurant had a good atmosphere (it felt like we were in Paris!) and great service. Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, we had a perfect evening, thanks!

Great food. Very busy. Good atmosphere. Avoid sitting at the front of the restaurant as cars outside turning into the road shine their headlights which constantly affected one of our guests.

We had a very pleasant visit. It was our first time there, we shall certainly return. The restaurant layout and ambience is very good, the service was the best we have received outside Italy, the food was delicious. Full marks.

Love coming to this restaurant. Have been back after 7 years! The food is consistently good. The restaurant was a little quieter on this occasion but our dinner was booked for later in the night.

A lovely little French restaurant in the heart of west London: pleasant, intimate ambience; friendly, professional service; and most importantly, a reasonably priced 'prix fixe' menu with some delicious highlights, including the smoked haddock and apricot tarte tatin. Worth opting for this menu rather than ordering à la carte, though, which is far pricier and possibly slightly less good value.

Food good Good value and ambiance Service professional but impersonal The French classics were delicious and well presented. A good wine list. Not sure that we would hurry to return though.

The service was excellent as ever. Sadly several of the dishes on the a la carte menu were unavailable. My husband was given the wrong dessert but he was allowed to keep it while they prepared the correct one.

We had a beautiful meal with lovely staff, overlooking the green. It was a really special evening for our wedding anniversary. I recommend the chateaubriand.

The food and wine here are excellent; we had cheese soufflé as a starter, followed by lemon sole, and then crème brulée, with some delightful Meursault. The service here was first class, with a very helpful and discreet young waiter looking after us, and the restaurant manager making sure everything was to our satisfaction. Very high recommendation from us.

Very quiet on a Thursday evening but still enjoyed it. Very nice steak, tasty starters. Friendly and attentive staff. The menu offers a wide choice.

Excellent service and food. A little punchy on price but you get what you pay for. The chateaubriand was well worth the wait and the chocolate mousse was to die for.

Lovely little restaurant in Chiswick serving delicious food and great service. This was our 4th visit and it never disappoints, especially the Apricot Tarte Tatin.

We enjoyed our evening at Le Vacherin. It serves quality French food - nothing particularly extravagant, but reliably tasty. The service is relatively stuffy/traditional, but not unpleasantly so. It often offers special menu deals and holds special events regularly.

Excellent food in a lovely quiet restaurant with attentive but respectful service. The tomato veloute was delicious, as were the sea bass and steak. We were too full for dessert, but the menu looked great. Good value for an excellent meal.

Authentic bistro with polished, friendly service. Prices reflect the quality. Residents of W4 are fortunate to have such a consistent and renowned local restaurant! Quite quiet on our recent midweek visit although it is peak holiday season....be sure to sign up for discount loyalty card. I am an occasional visitor and will continue to frequent when possible. Recommended.

My wife had lamb and wasn't asked how she wanted it cooked so she assumed medium. It arrived nearly raw and she didn't eat much of it and the waiter cleared the plates away without even asking if she didn't like it. We had to pour our own wine and water and even though the restaurant was quiet we hardly saw the staff. Not worth the money and won't be going back

A lovely restaurant in a nice location and with very attentive waiters. The only drawback was that it was a very warm evening and there is no air conditioning.

We had a very pleasant evening at Le Vacherin. The staff are always very welcoming and efficient. The menu is excellent and the food is delicious. We find that the portion sizes are just right. Wines are reasonably priced too. This is a favourite restaurant and we will return soon.

I haven't been here for ages but was really pleased to go back. Excellent prix fixe menu (although I had to ask for it, having seen it on the website). Great choice, well executed, v pleasant service and good wine. Also, v nice view onto South Parade Green.

We have never had a bad meal yet. Lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and we are always happy to return As elderly people, we do suffer from the noise levels when the restaurant is busy, but perhaps this is more to do with us?

Service was very good, professional and knowledgeable. The food was excellent, quality ingredients and perfectly prepared. Finally the restaurant was a lovely setting, tastefully decorated and provided a cosy and pleasant atmosphere. I would recommend trying the Chateaubriand steak - simply delicious!

Very high quality food and service again on my return visit to Le Vacherin. Table layout is rather too 'cosy' (close together with other diners' conversations overheard to the point of) and the price was at the top of the acceptable range for the location and ambience.

Meagre portions and very little wine supplied - there was supposed to be wine with each course to a set menu (Loire dinner) but we only got tiny quantities of each wine. About the amount of a double shot of spirits, ordered in a bar, ie: 40 - 50 ml. They were obviously keen to keep as much of the allocated wine back for staff drinks later! They were disorganised when we arrived (on time) and moved us to different seats after we went away to give them space and time to get ready. Service was unfriendly and without any warmth. The actual food (what there was of it) was lovely, as were the wines. If they were more generous we would give them another chance.
