Excellent food. We were on a slightly smaller table than would have been ideal and there were other larger tables which seemed to be free during the time we were there.
I had a friend staying with me for the week and we just wanted a casual light ‘eat out’. Lilac cottage fitted the bill exactly for us. Charming staff and very helpful. We were dining on a Wednesday evening and good for them, it was extremely busy, but not unpleasantly so, it was a good atmosphere. It did mean we had to wait to eat, which I suppose wouldn’t suit everyone, but it didn’t bother us. We booked for 7.30 and our food arrived about 8.15. The food was excellent and a very varied menu of choice.
Food delicious service hit and miss takes a while to get drinks order and menus. Then some of our order didn’t arrive. If they could get the service as good as the food you would have a perfect restaurant
An excellent addition to Prestbury - and it's proving very very popular. The food and overall ambience is just perfect. Even on a Sunday night. A few of the dishes were no longer available, but still, a great choice. Good selection of wines too. Can't be faulted.
Food was nice, tasty and good choice on menu and specials. The food could have been a little hotter (temperature). We all enjoyed it. Service was fast initially when we arrived as it was quiet, but later it was slower as the restuarant was busy. Maybe they need more serving staff?
