Lilu Restaurant

The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice and the service was great. We were both looked after very well and it was a nice experience. The food itself was nice, but not the best I’ve ever had and so in terms of value for money it’s not the best. Overall it was a nice experience but the food was just ‘nice’, nothing more nothing less

A lovely meal and overall evening with friendly service. Have visited 3 times now and have enjoyed it every time. Love the tasters before and in between courses. 👍🏼

This was our first visit at this recommended restaurant so we went with a very open mind. We were greeted and made to feel very welcome . The front of house are to be congratulated on how personable they are, taking time to explain the history of the restaurant and their thoughts on food and what makes a good restaurant. We had an excellent meal and our view was that the food here is a true fine dining experience.We will certainly revisit and try other dishes on the menu a new found favourite, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Excellent food, service equally good. Not much more to say, a thoroughly enjoyable evening and will return in future. I booked for a birthday celebration and was not disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful food, fantastic service and a great set menu which makes ordering less complicated. I went for the soft shell crab which was lovely and very different to what I normally have and the lamb cutlets for my main which was devine. Would definitely recommend anyone to go.

Food was excellent. This would have been a top marks review if only little elements of the service hadn't let it down. Service from each individual we encountered was great, but they lacked communication between them so were asked if we wanted drinks by all waiters on duty, even though our order had already been taken. I also asked at the time of ordering my glass of prosecco if they had any flavours they could add, eg peach - I was told I could have pomegranate, which sounded great, but only amounted to a few seeds thrown into my glass - not quite what I was after. Additionally as designated driver for the evening I moved on soft drinks, but the options presented were very limited. Juices offered were orange or apple, only to be told after ordering they didn't have apple. In terms of fizzy drinks I was offered lemonade or ginger beer - I selected ginger beer, to be served a ginger ale - a very different drink! Service was also quite slow, which ordinarily would have been ok, except it was a Tuesday night, and the restaurant wasn't exactly full. However, as stated, the food was excellent and I would return, but perhaps at a weekend for a better ambiance.

I thought the food was fantastic and the staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful, I’m looking forward to talking my family there on this coming Saturday

I feel the experience lacked value for money, the quality of food did not seem to justify the price. However, the presentation of each dish was good.

First rate fine dining Indian restaurant with great service and a good selection of wines. I liked the novel touch of serving red Leicester cheese on the nan bread.

It was our fist visit. We tried crab, prawns, duck and sea bass. Excellent food and service. We will definitely come back to try something new. Highly recommended!

As always, beautiful!!! The duck was the most tender I have ever had and the street food starter was an entertaining delight! It was my partners first visit, he was amazed and hasn’t stopped recommending it since. The welcoming and attentive service made it an experience to be repeated! Soon!

The food was really something, tasty & beautiful. The staff make the experience, friendly without being invasive. I'd say go and check it out because it's well worth the money.

We went not really knowing what to expect but had heard good things. The food was gorgeous, the staff was very pleasant. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommended. (More range of wines by the glass would have been nice)

Food was excellent! Menus was completely different to that of the standard high street Indian restaurant. The service was well above the norm. Well worth a visit.

Heard a lot of good things about Lilu and couldn't wait to eat there. We weren't disappointed, Indian food taken to the next level with a few surprises in between. The Lamb chops were the best I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious. The staff were attentive and very friendly. Can't wait to go back

Great experience highly recommend this restaurant. i had duck for main and was perfect! The only problem we had was our table wasnt ready for another 15 minutes therefore had to have another drink somewhere else as they do not have any seats near the bar.

We had an amazing evening at Lilu Restaurant, we ordered the Thali-Lu and it was incredible. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and we're already looking forward to going back.

The food was excellent. I loved the modern approach and the use of asian spices on meat and fish without it being a curry. I had the sea bass which was beautifuly flavoured with spice. The staff were attentive and friendly and we had a great night thanks!

Brilliant experience from start to finish with a friendly atmosphere as soon as you walked in. It’s a brilliant take on a curry and everything is explained to you about what you are about to eat. Really friendly staff. It’s not the cheapest curry but well worth it

Excellent 3 course menu. All courses were very tasty, beautifully balanced and spiced. The Mumbai chat combinations had a lovely taste. The Bharwan mirch was light and balanced seasoning. The gajar halwa is one mum would enjoy! All the ingredients for Michelin star potential.

Really nice small cosy restaurant. The food was lovely and the service was on point. Slightly overpriced though, but would still definitely recommend the restaurant.

Best Indian food I've ever had. There is a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. My only criticism is that it can be quite crowded due to there not being much space.

Food was excellent, table was 25 minutes late being ready even though I booked in. advance as my wife’s birthday. We then got stuck behind a large party as table running late - so added approx 45 minutes to the night. For the lateness of everything, they did over us a free round of drinks.

Great place. Food was delicious. Owner is awesome. The appetizers were beyond compare. Loved the kebabs and shrimp was perfectly cooked. The mains were yummy too

Our meal was the highlight of our visit to Leicester. Lilu lived up to its excellent reputation with excellent food, drink and service. Definitely a must to visit again.

I was looking online for the best Restaurants in Leicester and came across this place. The reviews were second to none, and I concur with everything that was said about it. The food was immaculate as well as the service. The staff were very attentive and the service of food flowed at a great pace throughout the night. Will definitely be going back again. This is not your typical Indian Restaurant. You won't be disappointed one bit!

Very nice food good service but seating a little cramped. Some off the flavours different to a usual Indian meal which made for pleasant eating. Food was cooked well. Would go back again. Cost was £180 for 4 people, that included 2 bottles wine and a couple pints of beer.
