Lilu Restaurant

Food was fab as always, busiest I have seen the restaurant, delighted to see word getting around about how great this place is And trade picking up.

23rd September - 2 diners. Achieving & maintaining consistently high standards every time, is the challenge of any establishment & whilst Lilu has an enviable reputation, which was the reason for our visit, it failed to meet our expectations. As regular explorers in search of the "best Curry in England" we expected better on all fronts. Maybe we set our sights too high? Having dined locally in Asha's we were expecting a similar experience. With only 4 other dimers in the restaurant at 6:30, it is unforgivable that we had to return one main course as it was barely warm & when a waitress emptied a Carafe of Wine or Water (not sure) into the lap of another diner, it sort of set the tone for the evening. I guess it was just an off night, the food was good, but not in the same class of Asha's, the ambience was OK & personally our service was excellent. Two courses & a bottle of wine ran into 3 figures, its not cheap. Would we visit again, most probably not, but I'm sure the army of regulars will keep earning Lilu's rave reviews.

This was he best Indian meal we have ever had. Special dishes, superbly cooked (the lamb was so tender it almost melted in the mouth) and great service that was able to give a lot of information about the food.

Great staff who were able to clearly explain the menu. Very accommodating. Music in the background would have enhanced the experience. Nice decor and smart plates and glasses!

A relaxed place to share creative, beautifully presented ,delicious food either as a couple , a family or a group of friends. Highly recommend . It has never disappointed.

Excellent food and service from Lilu Cuisine. Although a fine dining restaurant, the portions are very good, and the menu is so unique. A really well run restaurant. Thank you Pratik and the team!

On par with Michelin Indian restaurants we've visited. Great staff and fantastic food. Particularly enjoyed the soft shell crab and a very beautiful mamasita cocktail!

Fantastic food and great service. Left with a doggy bag as couldn't finish my main course with all of the little extras thrown in throughout the evening. Will definitely be returning

Excellent food, very enjoyable and different. I especially love the soft shell crab starter. The staff are very attentive and helpful. If you want a different Indian food experience this is the place to go.

This is special Indian food of such high quality. Very interesting menu choices and the service was excellent too. Highly recommended. Book ahead for a Friday or Saturday evening.

Top service. Outstanding menu. Brilliant house wine. Nice cosy tables with outstanding presentation. Food was out of this world. Gorgeous flavours. House special butter chicken was very nice. And lamb chops no words can describe how the melt in your mouth. Definitely going back again 5***** taste

Great food but ambience let the experience down. Such a shame. Great service and excellent food as long as you don't mind very bright lighting with a noisy crowd!

This is the second time I have been to Lilu and as before the food was excellent, very well cooked with lovely subtle flavours and portion sizes which don't leave you feeling like you can't walk! The service was attentive but not 'in your face'. Its a bit of a hidden gem which I don't want to shout about too much, just in case I can't get a table next time I want to visit!

Lovely food, well priced, great staff, loved it and will be coming back. One of the nicest curries I have had in a long time. Thanks you will be recommending you to all my friends.

Lovely food, good presentation but missing small touches like hot towels at the end of a meal and mints at the end of the meal as well. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and had mentioned this before hand but they did not even acknowledged it.

This is not your usual Indian restaurant, if Carlsberg was to do Indian restaurants this is how it would be mythically done !!! Seriously, our host was excellent in engaging in a friendly unpatronising manner with his customers. The food is top notch and so inventive. The combination of flavours, presentation and range of dishes is a gastronomic delight. We were totally satisfied. Will return on our next visit to Leicester without hesitation.

The food was fantastic, the mix grill for one was a very good option as I got to try a little of everything. Service is excellent too. It is a little more expensive than usual but overall, fantastic and would go back again.

Never had Indian food like it. It was different from starters through to the mains on every front. The flavours and tastes were superb as was the presentation. The menu was small but everything on it sounded yummy. The service we received was excellent. I can honestly say that I will be using this Restaurant again and will tell my friends to go.

I had read it was a halal restaurant .. it wasn't, you have to pre order your halal meat if you want to go there.. so we ended up going to handmade burger.

We had an amazing evening. The food was excellent, the service was warm and attentive and the vibe was vibrant but still chilled - perfect for a saturday night. Would definitely come again.

So glad I found this place! Not only was the food amazing, but the experience was too. It was pretty quiet for a Thursday evening but we were talking to the owner about the restaurant, his passion for good Indian cuisine and how he likes to experiment with flavours. I have to say the food was probably the best Indian food I have eaten in a very long time. I will certainly be spreading the word and definitely coming back!

Service was absolutely fantastic and the food was good too, the cod we ordered was slightly over cooked but other than that everything was great!

Great food and great service. Lots of curry houses in Leicester but it was great to go somewhere different where the quality of food was of such a high standard.

This is the best restaurant in Leicester. The chef is clever and consistent. Front of house is as good. The only problem is in getting a table.

if you have not been then you really need to go. Excellent food with a twist with each course. The staff attentiveness was second to none and made me and my date ( third date actually ) at ease. Food was exceptional. I would strongly recommend this restaurant without a moments hesitation.

Was very good and satisfying would recommend to anyone who likes Indian food! The service was fantastic for someone who doesn't know much about Indian food they help a lot and a tip was defiently deserved 6/6

Food was perfect Service and interior lets it down. Chef was over attentive and needs to decide whether he is front of house or in the kitchen not both!!

An excellent gourmet Indian restaurant- exquisite flavours and unusual dishes! I would definitely recommend! Friendly and attentive staff. Definitely an experience not to be missed.

Amazing food. There is so much care and attention in the preparation of these delicious meals. Staff are friendly. The place is fresh and inviting and the cocktails are just amazing
