Lilu Restaurant

Great experience highly recommend this restaurant. i had duck for main and was perfect! The only problem we had was our table wasnt ready for another 15 minutes therefore had to have another drink somewhere else as they do not have any seats near the bar.

We had an amazing evening at Lilu Restaurant, we ordered the Thali-Lu and it was incredible. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and we're already looking forward to going back.

The food was excellent. I loved the modern approach and the use of asian spices on meat and fish without it being a curry. I had the sea bass which was beautifuly flavoured with spice. The staff were attentive and friendly and we had a great night thanks!

Brilliant experience from start to finish with a friendly atmosphere as soon as you walked in. It’s a brilliant take on a curry and everything is explained to you about what you are about to eat. Really friendly staff. It’s not the cheapest curry but well worth it

Excellent 3 course menu. All courses were very tasty, beautifully balanced and spiced. The Mumbai chat combinations had a lovely taste. The Bharwan mirch was light and balanced seasoning. The gajar halwa is one mum would enjoy! All the ingredients for Michelin star potential.

Really nice small cosy restaurant. The food was lovely and the service was on point. Slightly overpriced though, but would still definitely recommend the restaurant.

Best Indian food I've ever had. There is a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very helpful. My only criticism is that it can be quite crowded due to there not being much space.

A first class dining experience, food was tasty and well presented. I'd recommend the lamb As far as Indian restaurants go in Leicester, this has to be top of your list. Great service Will be back

Food was excellent, table was 25 minutes late being ready even though I booked in. advance as my wife’s birthday. We then got stuck behind a large party as table running late - so added approx 45 minutes to the night. For the lateness of everything, they did over us a free round of drinks.

Great place. Food was delicious. Owner is awesome. The appetizers were beyond compare. Loved the kebabs and shrimp was perfectly cooked. The mains were yummy too

Excellent food and service. Best Indian in Leicester. I I would recommend this place highly. Shall revisit soon. Plenty of parking st highcross or nearby.

The food was great with a brilliant atmosphere. All the staff were very attentive and it was priced exceedinly well for the quality. I will definitely be going back for seconds!!

Our meal was the highlight of our visit to Leicester. Lilu lived up to its excellent reputation with excellent food, drink and service. Definitely a must to visit again.

I was looking online for the best Restaurants in Leicester and came across this place. The reviews were second to none, and I concur with everything that was said about it. The food was immaculate as well as the service. The staff were very attentive and the service of food flowed at a great pace throughout the night. Will definitely be going back again. This is not your typical Indian Restaurant. You won't be disappointed one bit!

Very nice food good service but seating a little cramped. Some off the flavours different to a usual Indian meal which made for pleasant eating. Food was cooked well. Would go back again. Cost was £180 for 4 people, that included 2 bottles wine and a couple pints of beer.

Food was fab as always, busiest I have seen the restaurant, delighted to see word getting around about how great this place is And trade picking up.

23rd September - 2 diners. Achieving & maintaining consistently high standards every time, is the challenge of any establishment & whilst Lilu has an enviable reputation, which was the reason for our visit, it failed to meet our expectations. As regular explorers in search of the "best Curry in England" we expected better on all fronts. Maybe we set our sights too high? Having dined locally in Asha's we were expecting a similar experience. With only 4 other dimers in the restaurant at 6:30, it is unforgivable that we had to return one main course as it was barely warm & when a waitress emptied a Carafe of Wine or Water (not sure) into the lap of another diner, it sort of set the tone for the evening. I guess it was just an off night, the food was good, but not in the same class of Asha's, the ambience was OK & personally our service was excellent. Two courses & a bottle of wine ran into 3 figures, its not cheap. Would we visit again, most probably not, but I'm sure the army of regulars will keep earning Lilu's rave reviews.

This was he best Indian meal we have ever had. Special dishes, superbly cooked (the lamb was so tender it almost melted in the mouth) and great service that was able to give a lot of information about the food.

Great staff who were able to clearly explain the menu. Very accommodating. Music in the background would have enhanced the experience. Nice decor and smart plates and glasses!

A relaxed place to share creative, beautifully presented ,delicious food either as a couple , a family or a group of friends. Highly recommend . It has never disappointed.

On par with Michelin Indian restaurants we've visited. Great staff and fantastic food. Particularly enjoyed the soft shell crab and a very beautiful mamasita cocktail!

Excellent food, very enjoyable and different. I especially love the soft shell crab starter. The staff are very attentive and helpful. If you want a different Indian food experience this is the place to go.

This is special Indian food of such high quality. Very interesting menu choices and the service was excellent too. Highly recommended. Book ahead for a Friday or Saturday evening.

Top service. Outstanding menu. Brilliant house wine. Nice cosy tables with outstanding presentation. Food was out of this world. Gorgeous flavours. House special butter chicken was very nice. And lamb chops no words can describe how the melt in your mouth. Definitely going back again 5***** taste

This is the second time I have been to Lilu and as before the food was excellent, very well cooked with lovely subtle flavours and portion sizes which don't leave you feeling like you can't walk! The service was attentive but not 'in your face'. Its a bit of a hidden gem which I don't want to shout about too much, just in case I can't get a table next time I want to visit!

Lovely food, good presentation but missing small touches like hot towels at the end of a meal and mints at the end of the meal as well. We were celebrating my husbands birthday and had mentioned this before hand but they did not even acknowledged it.

This is not your usual Indian restaurant, if Carlsberg was to do Indian restaurants this is how it would be mythically done !!! Seriously, our host was excellent in engaging in a friendly unpatronising manner with his customers. The food is top notch and so inventive. The combination of flavours, presentation and range of dishes is a gastronomic delight. We were totally satisfied. Will return on our next visit to Leicester without hesitation.

The food was fantastic, the mix grill for one was a very good option as I got to try a little of everything. Service is excellent too. It is a little more expensive than usual but overall, fantastic and would go back again.

Never had Indian food like it. It was different from starters through to the mains on every front. The flavours and tastes were superb as was the presentation. The menu was small but everything on it sounded yummy. The service we received was excellent. I can honestly say that I will be using this Restaurant again and will tell my friends to go.

I had read it was a halal restaurant .. it wasn't, you have to pre order your halal meat if you want to go there.. so we ended up going to handmade burger.
