Three friends and I visited Ma Egerton's for a meal prior to a theatre visit. My friend's had never been to Ma's before. They can't wait to revisit Liverpool and eat at Ma's again. They had Scouse, another first for them, a wholesale, delicious and wipe the dish clean meal. I had a Laurel and Hardy pizza which as always was wonderful. All meals, great value for money. The ambience of the pub was amazing and the staff were competent, courteous and professional.

Staff friendly. Good food. Very clean. Lovely real coal fire. Would definitely go again, particularly when going to the theatre. The Empire is only minutes away.

Always now come here when going to the Empire. The homemade Pizzas are great value and the staff are very friendly. Showing your theatre tickets entitles you to a free shot.

Excellent pizzas at a very reasonable price. Only problem was that the pub was very crowded, and although I had booked a table we had to eat in the bar area on a tiny round table that didn't not really have enough space for two pizzas served on large wooden boards.

Great pub atmosphere. Don’t expect a fancy restaurant or wine bar but if you like good pub grub at a fair price you won’t be disappointed. Good to find an authentic place like this still exists in the city centre!

Great atmosphere and the food was absolutely delicious! Homemade pizza at its best. I’ve never tasted such fresh tasty pizza. The chocolate calzone for dessert was a touch of pure genius. We’ll be back!

Delicious pizzas and a good, fun pub quiz despite only being three teams. The land lady even shared her cake with us! Would return again if return to Liverpool.

As soon as we walked through the door of Ma Egertons we received a warm welcome from the landlady. The surroundings were extremely clean and well presented. Our pizza, garlic bread and Prosecco were all of a high quality and extremely tasty; superb value for money. The photos on the wall of celebrities who have visited the pub gave us plenty to look at whilst we were waiting for our food. We will definitely return again.

The pub provided a friendly atmosphere and the staff were helpful. We had a Groupon voucher but even without this, the pub was good value for money. Tasty cocktails and delicious pizza!

The pizza was magnificent and larger than expected. Service excellent and Staff couldn't do enough. Pub/restaurant was smaller than I expected but cosy and so close to the Empire. Well done!

The venue was extremely busy due to a football game. However, the staff were very accommodating and ensured that we found the table (we'd reserved). Indeed, the staff were attentive and the food excellent!

Glad I booked very busy, had to find a chair as someone had taken one of ours, Not the staffs fault, on a plus side the pizza's we eat were lovely and I am not a big pizza lover. Would go again before we watch a show at the empire very convenient place to eat on the door step.

The place was packed. I had the two for one scouse deal. The food was alright, but it was the atmosphere of the pub that made my evening special. A local recommended Ficksons beer which was jolly good.

Pizzas were great and service fab, would definitely go back. A little on the dark side as the pub is only small but we ate outside and watched all the comings and goings including a wedding party as the station is right next door. Overall a lovely experience.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had in Liverpool - far outstrips all the pizza chains and much more reasonably priced. Really lovely little local pub right next to the station. Drinks are fantastic, staff always really friendly. I came for the Monday night quiz which was an absolute hoot - 6 rounds of 5 questions, ideal length (beware though, it never starts or finishes on time so you'll have to be prepared to make a whole night of it). The whole pub got involved in the singing rounds and it was a fantastic atmosphere - would highly recommend.

good location, great staff. Small location so for Theater reservations table booking is strongly recommended and also leave plenty of time to order and eat especially if the place is very busy

Excellent venue with very tasty food - real scouse on a cold February day - the staff could not have been friendlier and with the warm fire in this old style public house we could have stayed there all day
