Mala Indian Restaurant

The food was great, the staff are friendly and efficient, the restaurant is set in a wonderful location of St.Kathrines dock, highly recommend the Mala.

Nice restaurant, quite noisy on our visit. Food was OK although some of the portions were huge, our starters were the size of a main course which puts you off the rest of the huge plates. Reasonable quality.

Food excellent but service not so good - was busy but waited a long time to order and waiters were inattentive and we waited ages for drink top up and to pay bill

The location was great! St Katharine docks. The gents toilets were filthy Service slow Restaurant inside unclean food nothing special to brag about. won't Return!!

Waiter forgot our drinks for 30 minutes and we had to wait an hour for our main course as we were given the wrong dishes. The restaurant decor is lovely and we were given free drinks as a compensation for their slow service. The food was nice but the chicken korma my partner had was bland and boring. If service is like this constantly then I would not recommend.

Brilliant food and attentive service. The cod tikka starter was incredible, and was a great night for my dads birthday with the family. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely little Resturant with polite staff and tastey food. I think the starters were better than the main but overall I was quite satisfied with the quality of food.

+Ives - Delicious, Good food -Ives - dated & ordinary cutlery, and so below average presentation, cocktail(LongIslandicetea) too overpriced, served in a beer(cobra)glass which isn't to the standard, bland cocktail, no taste of alcohol at all.

i was there already once over 1 year ago but unfortunately the service as well as the food quality changed. It started with receiving the wrong order, then the waiter coming by taking the plate and literally swopping with our neighbours plate - where it was our food - however both sides started with the food as optically it seemed correct. then also the main dishes were blend - not much taste and one dish was not even close to what it should have been ( which the waiter confirmed us). Also the service was not incredibly great or nice - the restaurant wasn't even close to being fully booked, so there were definitely enough staff ... Unfortunately beside the location, I can't recommend going there.

Great food, wonderful service and good value - can't fault it. It's in a special setting with nice views from the windows. The food was definitely a cut above other Indian Restaurants I have been to.

Wonderful place - excellent food and super service. Really authentic - it was like being back in India! We will be back to enjoy soon!

Wonderful surroundings. Quality food and service with it all being put at a reasonable price for the area. Well worth a visit if you are around st Katherine dock.

We had good food and a good service. Because of the indian accent, sometimes hard to understand the waiters. But we will come back anyway.

Coming from east London and eating in the various Indian restaurants around my home, I was expecting a similar experience here. However, it was much better all round. The restaurant itself is quite large compared to what I'm used too and very pleasantly furnished. No background music at the time, but funnily enough, did not realise this until we had nearly finished eating!!! The staff were very pleasant and on hand but not intrusive, the food was very good, large portions but much more refined than we're used to, Indian fine dining is how I would describe it and then there is the view over St Katherine's dock!! Very good experience and will definitely be visiting again.

Good food and service with an extensive wine list. Nice buzzy atmosphere. Food was spicy and of high quality. Overall price of meal was fait at just under £70 per couple.

The Mala never fails to please, when it comes to quality of service and food. Their meat quality and flavours are always second to none and not forgetting the amazing location (St Katherines Dock) - Great not seeing traffic outside . I booked for a group of 10 - Looking forward to my next visit

Very disappointed with the service. Our starter [poppadums] arrived without onion relish. We were charged £5 as it wasn't included within the dips. We then waited 1 hour for our mains due to a mixed up in the kitchen ! We asked on several occasions why our food was late with no response. Finally I spoke to the manger who told us about the mix up. Compensation was our bottle of wine and poppadums were removed from the bill. We won't be rushing back.

The food is amazing here, & that is why this was not my first visit & wont be my last. See you next time Mala.

The food was tasty, and the presentation was good. The service, whilst friendly and polite, could have been a little more refined - it didn't quite match how well dressed the waiters were (which I thought was excellent). The atmosphere/ambiance was a let down, the music didn't match the surroundings, the lighting was a little too bright, and the sound of the phone ringing (a very unpleasant ringtone) every 10 minutes was awful.

Good food poor service. Asked if we were ready for mains while eating starter, never asked how the food was or more drinks during our meal.

The food was good but not a huge selection of curries. The service was fine and not too slow but the waiters were not very friendly.

Food was tasty but service could be improved - one of the dishes ordered were not placed with the kitchen and we were constantly chased about final orders.

Great food! Highly recommend the mazrani murgh, really tasty with the right amount of fire, staff friendly and attentive and nice surroundings at st Katherine's dock.

Fabulous authentic Indian food served by very nice people in this restaurant! We would recommend a visit to any Indian food lover ! Reasonable prices considering where you are.

Good food Nice ambiance and Faruk was very attentive andgave great service. Highly recommended for its food, service and super location . Good portions as well.

Food excellent but wine list limited due to restocking taking place shortly. We were only charged for the cheaper wine we initially chose rather than the more expensive one we had. Poppadom starter also free of charge. Would revisit.

Overall it was excellent, but sometimes the service was slow. The portion size was generous and the flavours of the dishes were fabulous although I would have preferred them to be a little spicier. Great meal!

Not at all pleased - not even a poppadum had arrived after 45 minutes - even the staff said that they were "having a bad night"!

Delicious food and the staff was very friendly and flexible. We even got a new table when our bog company got even bigger. Perfect place for get togethers.

Having eaten in several Curry Restaurants, I decided to take my Mum to Mala for her birthday and I'm so glad we went there. The place is classy and relaxed and it is most certainly the best curry I have ever eaten. I will be back soon!!

Overpriced and food quality not that great. I had high hopes from the marketing it receives on radio and other peoples reviews but went to dine in with my family and we were disappointed. I have been to much better Indian restaurants in London, the location is the only nice thing as St Katherine Docks is very pretty.

Its an excellent Indian Restaurant. the Location and food is amazing. Specifically Veg/Non Veg Thali is out of the world. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic meal....loved the tapas idea. Great service too. The restaurant is in the beautiful area of St Katherine's Dock. Lovely to walk round and admire all the huge boats. Great evening.

Food was good. Staff can be a bit grumpy. No smiles. Went with my parents and I expected someone to help them get seated, common courtesy to help older ladies with their chair etc. but didn't get that. Was a bit dissappointed.

Always enjoy authentic Indian food here along with the ambience within the restaurant and the location itself. Staff is very pleasant to talk to and never let us down.
