Lovely food, great service and nice location for a family day out. Definately recommed this restaurant for authentic indian food. Nice place for organising party.
Terrible Service horrible food no resturaunt ambience and very expensive Didn't walk away feeling I had received values for money Arguing waiters is not my idea of a relaxed evening
Great Thali and Beers , enjoyed by all. Good spot for lunch, and very considerate and polite service, would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a high quality indian meal.
Die Lage des Restaurants am Katharinenquai ist wirklich bezaubernd und absolut ruhig mitten in der Großstadt. Das Restaurant ist sehr hübsch ausgestattet und bietet viel Platz.
General service was good and our food arrived very quickly after we ordered. Only thing I would suggest is to make the vindaloo hotter as it wasnt as spicy as I expected!
The food is good. Not amazing but above average and therefore no complaints. The prices are reasonable and a fair reflection of the quality of the food. The location and decor of the restaurant are high points.
Food, decor, location, and service all amazing. Highly recommend! Located close to tower bridge, great place to have dinner, then walk down to get good pictures.
Food very good but service off-hand at times. Server on more than one occasion seemed preoccupied with what was going on at the front of the restaurant instead of taking our order.
Great food, music not too loud, most enjoyable. Liked the menu with excellent descriptions of all the dishes given I'm fairly choosy in what food I eat!
I had a dinner with my friends on Sat 07/10. The service was good but the food had too much salt in it. Lamb shish was overcooked and tasted like boiled meat not cooked in tandoori.
The restaurant has a nice ambiance, the waiters were polite and helpful. The price was not unreasonable. Most importantly, the food was excellent, authentic and spicy!
Good service. Great food excellent company and a wonderful evening . have been here many times always come back because of the location and ambient.
Four brothers enjoyed a reunion in a great location. Very easy to find in St Katherine's Dock just off Tower Bridge Road. Excellent food served attentively in spacious surroundings. Good ambience.
Food was very delicious. Services unfortunately was a bit impersonal we did not felt welcomed. We would go there again because food was really delicious and now we would know what to expect from service.
Excellent super quick service, lovely food, very large quantity for three hungy blokes. Nice chat with the main man about wine. All in all very pleasant. Will book again with my other half next time.
Food good, portions quite large (you might want to avoid that starter). Cocktails badly made (waaaay too much alcohol) and staff indifferent. Serving skills need brushing up e.g. don't hand a hot plate to a guest because you can't be bothered to bend over the table
Deducted 2 points from Maximum. -1 for Tandoori Prawns. They came in their shells. Who does that? -1 for an unfortunate incident involving the Head Waiter/Manager at the end. Some in my crowd were inebriated and obnoxious (but stress: not threatening). Nothing uncommon for an Indian restaurant next to a pub at 11pm on a Saturday.Should be able to handle situation better rather than get involved and encourage/abet making a scene.
A wonderful setting, great service and absolutely delicious food made this a wonderful experience. We ate the non-veg Thali and the selection was fantastic. Definitely recommend Mala.
Good service. Great food full of lovely flavour. Very surprised that on a Friday night it was only half full. We would love to come back
Due to severe traffic congestion we were rally late - in fact we arrived about 20 minutes before they closed. Despite this the staff made us really welcome and served up an excellent meal as usual. We can't thank the Mala enough. One of the party is disabled and wheelchair bound, and the staff co uldnt have helped him mor and, what's more allowed us to park right outside on a disabled parking slot. Well done all of you.
Great food, good portions and very reasonable price. Only think I don't like is the addition of a service charge. Sign of times I suppose.
We had a fantastic evening - the food was great, the service was excellent with a great atmosphere too. A good evening was had by all.
Excellent food. Great size portions in a wonderful environment. We had the thali which tasted amazing. I St Katherine's dock is such a lovely place to eat.
Awesome food. Great ambience. The quality and quantity of food is too good. Good customer service. A place you must visit with your family and friends.
Good food, service could be a bit better. It was my sons birthday dinner. Could have brought out the cake with more enthusiasm. Area was good
Service was bad - had to wait an our between starter and main course. Had to ask waiter and waitress to come over in order to request more drinks. Did not feel valued. Felt forgotten. Very disappointed.
The best Indian restaurant in London! Delicious food and great service, always the perfect meal in such a lovely area. Great atmosphere to enjoy a post-dinner glass of wine
Good food, excellent service and brilliant location. Easy to make the booking. Good selection and varied menu. Had a really good night. Thank you so much
Smelled great. Options were terrible. I left without dining. The restaurant lacks options for a glass of wine with no flexibility. Variety choices are limited to chefs choice and not consumer choice.
Atrocious service. The place is unlike any fine dining that it claims to be. More like a fast food chain with staff hovering over and rushing you through your meal.
A great night with lovely food, after the table issue was sorted out. You can't put 5 people on a table for 4! Would recommend.
Incompetent waiter who argued our order and tolled his eyes at us despite the fact that we pointed to what we wanted 3 times and he still said "the thali?"! Wrong food came and the manager intervened! What happened to the customer service?!
Overall good experience. Very classy venue and surroundings. Food was ok to good. Though the service felt a little detached maybe. Even walked out without any acknowledgement from staff. Would I do it again ? Yeah I would.
Beautiful location in St.Catherine's dock. Spacious interior with room for large groups although my visit this time was as a couple. Menu has new dishes to try that we haven't had in other Indian restaurants. Food was absolutely delicious! Good service and will definitely return.
Waiters were really harassed, and service was alternately rushed and really slow. Food itself was fine, with enormous helpings. Would possibly go back, but not when busy....
The food was quite good. But the service was a little slow and can be improved. Its a very nice location so definitely worh a visit
Really lovely atmosphere and good food. We all had fish and the Sea Bass was fab. Little expensive, but will be visiting again. Nice to experience something a little different
Nice environment overlooking St Katherine's dock with plenty of space around the tables. The food was excellent with all the usual standards and some delicious recommended dishes that I hadn't seen before.
It has been +15 years since I first ate at Mala. At that time, I learned to love Indian food. 15 years and many Indian restaurants later all over the world, it was amazing to find that Mala was still the best Indian food I have ever enjoyed. It will be a mandatory stop on every future London trip
Food was lovely and tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Sadly we had a couple of hiccups with all main meal dishes being served except the rice, which meant we couldn't start eating. Had to chase twice for the rice. :( Also felt rushed with starter arriving whilst only just eating into poppadoms. In an out in an hour. :(
Great service and excellent food. A fantastic location on St Katherine's dock with a view of the yaughts. Diverse menu. I would highly recommend a visit
Was a lovely lunch. Although booked for 12:30 We arrived 25 minutes early which was not a problem. A good dining experience. My only small critism was the small selection on the menu for lunch but it was all very tasty, pleasing to the eye as well as the palate and served in nice surroundings. Will go back sometime on the future buy no rush
I been here quite a few times.. and food is awesome even though the quantities are less but it's worth paying for that delicious food.
The Service was good and the staff were friendly but the food was Only average. St Katherine's Dock is a pleasant location and the restaurant was quite busy.
The food was excellent! The service however left much to be desired. Our waiter was less than friendly and absent. We were left unattended far longer than necessary.
Such a great restaurant and the location is second to none in the city! I can't remember eating Indian food as good. Service was good too.
Nice restaurant. Good food. Could have been hotter when arrived on table. Service was very attentive overall good experience. However authentic Punjabi cooking. Only complaint was we couldn't finish our meal and asked for it to be packed to take away. They put the daal and chicken dish in the same pot which if I was vegetarian or with someone vegetarian would have been appalling. It was late when we left however no excuses. Doubt if I would go back as the food does not beat my favourite and the end of the night as below left me with a bit of a niggle
The restaurant décor was nice, friendly staff and food was good as well. Would recommend one should visit Mala. The New Year atmosphere was good and the DJ music was good as well. Very nice location.
Nice restaurant but quite expensive when you compare it with the quality of the food The service is very nice but we didn't really enjoy our food.
Excellent food and service with the best location in London. Try the maharajah platter and the Dall makani full of mouth watering flavours will definitely be back.
