Encompassing an Italian restaurant, pizzeria and Champagne bar in one stunning location in the beating heart of Glasgow’s Merchant City precinct, Mediterraneo is for many diners a one-stop shop when it comes to the colour and flavour of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The excellence that Mediterraneo represents has not gone unnoticed, with the restaurant scooping the People’s Choice prize in the 2014 Scottish Italian Awards. A superlative dining destination in the city centre, found down Ingram Street and close to a number of Glasgow’s landmarks, diners are spoiled for choice.

There are many ways you can approach Mediterraneo’s superb Italian and Mediterranean dining experience, right in the heart of the city centre. Go a la carte with a classic selection of starters, pasta and risotto dishes, main courses and desserts, partake in authentic Neapolitan pizza or sample the restaurant’s specialty pasta parcels (the Russo family’s Glasgow legacy began with grandfather’s Russo’s pasta factory), or the chef’s specialties and chargrilled dishes. If you’re looking to get acquainted with what many would call the Merchant City’s finest Italian restaurant, another option is to go for the fixed-price two-course Chef’s Big Deal menu, served Sunday to Thursday from noon, again on Friday from noon, and Saturday from noon until 5pm.
If you’re out shopping in Merchant City or seeing the sights in and around Glasgow’s city centre during the week, Mediterraneo have laid on some special tea time menus for a great value Italian meal between friends. Upping the ante even further, the ideal pre-theatre or pre-concert dinner can be had by gathering a bunch of friends together to order a number of smaller dishes from the ‘piccolino’ menu before you catch the show – the Scottish Youth Theatre, Jongleurs Comedy Club, City Halls & Old Fruitmarket and the 13th Note are all within walking distance of Mediterraneo’s Ingram Street address. Remember that reservations are essential for this popular Glasgow Italian restaurant, but also that if you join the Amici Club you can enjoy exclusive offers, menus and event invitations both here at Mediterraneo and at proprietors Mariano and Nunzio’s other restaurants – La Fiorentina, Casa Russo, and Volare!
Great service, great food, great atmosphere . My fiancée and I had a very enjoyable time eating and drinking here , the pianist in the background made our night
Excellent value food and great service. central location in city. visited twice during this visit to Glasgow. Can be recommended particularly for pre theatre, with choices available
Went with our friends for lunch last week. Service, food and choice on menu were all excellent. I have been to this restaurant, on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed.
Food was excellent, staff couldn't have been anymore helpful and place had a great atmosphere. Live music was excellent as well. You need to try this place.
This was our first visit and it was absolutely swell. Great food, great atmosphere, very attentive staff whose service was to perfection but who took the time to have a wee chat and make us feel very welcome (that's you Cameron - first class service) and gave us plenty of time for us to sit back and enjoy the meal at our own pace, and to soak in the ambience (and the Peroni!). We'll definitely back for our next 'do' in September. FAB!
Fantastic day. Food was fabulous, as usual. Great service. Fab drinks to choose from. Also, surprise cabaret guest, actor from River City. Mediterraneo was full to bursting with people. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be back again.
Excellent value and choice on the £12.50 two course fixed price menu with desserts coming in at a very reasonable £3.50. Good selection of wines with a keen sommelier on hand to make suggestions. The waiting staff were unobtrusive yet attentive. I will definitely make a point of putting the restaurant on my list of eateries to visit on a regular basis.
A nice meal with very pleasant and helpful staff. We have had many lovely meals in Mediterraneo. The lasagne was tasty but a bit dried out and over cooked. Pasta dishes were good.
This was our third visit to the Mediterraneo and on each occasion the food and service have been excellent. Have recommended this restaurant to several friends.
Food was absolutely amazing and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Really welcoming atmosphere and very lovely place inside. Also the prices are very reasonable and all round my partner and myself had an amazing night out.
I have been several times to this restaurant and would highly recommend it. Service is first class and the food is excellent. I come with my friends and they think the same as me about the restaurant.
Excellent service and food was great. Colin Vincenzo and Christianos were very attentive in a very caring and non intrusive way and I would recommend this restaurant and cocktail bar to anyone who appreciates a good experience.
Our table was, as requested, at a window. The service was efficient, friendly and unobtrusive. We had the table d'hote menu and were happy with the choices we had made. A pleasant experience on a wet day.
When booking I didn't have a choice of menu and when seated was only given the a la carte menu. Had to ask for the lunch menu (2 courses for £6.95 and you can add a dessert for £3). Garlic bread and bruschetta toast slightly burnt but overall food was tasty.
Very good service, excellent food, great menu. Have been on numerous times to this restaurant and I am never disappointed. The service is always very quick and the staff very friendly. Highly recommend.
We arrived half an hour early snd were taken to our table immediately. Food and service was amazing and staff were so helpful. Couldn't have asked for more. Will definitely be back.
Was our anniversary so wanted to book somewhere nice for me my wife and three daughters and I got it right Great food wonderfull staff great time wife happy so thanks
The Food fantastic and as usual the staff were so friendly! Always greeted with a welcome on arrival and always excellent customer service! Used groupon voucher too great value for money!
Perfect lunch!...Mediterraneao has a friendly atmosphere...the staff give great service...the food is fab and served very quickly...not a drop if food left on our plates...look forward to my next visit.
Excellent service, very attentive staff. Good choice of menu and a very high standard of food. Would highly recommend the Meditteraneo and look forward to returning in the near future.
8 of us enjoyed an excellent "shoppers' lunch". We had a very nice round table by the window. The staff were attentive and very pleasant and the food was very good, large portions and hot.
The restaurant had a very nice ambiance. The staff were helpful and friendly. The food was really good value for money and very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back.
Great value for money , good selection of food and friendly service Central Glasgow location Can be busy, so would advise making a reservation. Good reasonably priced cocktail list
Had a lovely lunch with 6 of my friends yesterday food lovely service excellent happy to recommend for all age groups will be back to try the evening menue
Both the service and food was excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they look after you well. Will be going back for more team lunches I'm sure.

Can't ever fault this restaurant it's in my top 3 places to eat food is good service and the staff really make the place amazing value for money
Warm welcome from staff. Escorted to my seat. Food was very good as was the service. Great atmosphere. Will certainly return. Nobody rushed us which is very good.
Really nice food and great value. Menu also changes weekly so lots of variety. Very busy and great atmosphere and obviously a very popular place to eat.
Excellent food pleasant and prompt service friendly atmosphere would definitely go back again Very busy but staff still had time to pay us attention and all our requests were promptly carried out
Great food and great service. I've never had a bad experience in this restaurant and the food is second to none. The Braveheart pizza was a perfect mix of Scotland and Italy
Another amazing meal staff wonderful and the Peroni is the best pint of beer to be had! Chef always makes my meal to perfection top class
Haven't been for ages and have to say hasn't lost its shine once again amazing food and the cheesecake is to die for worth every £
Always good food and beer the service is fantastic too good value for money also one of my top restaurants in Glasgow can't recommend it enough
Booked a table for 8 to celebrate my daughters graduation, we were given a lovely round table at the window. The food and service were really good, will definitely go again.
Good service but wasnt too busy as we we seated for 12 noon... only disappointment was waited a good while for the main course after the starter... and I had Pollo Milanese for main which was disappointing tasteless
Wonderful food, ambience, décor, location and particularly friendly staff. I'll be back and already recommended to friends in the pub. Well done, keep it up!
The food is excellent and the service is second to none. The overall experience in the restaurant was first class , everyone should try it.
Food was fine but where I was seated I had a constant stream of waiting staff and customers walking behind me, also tables either side were close so it was not a very relaxing experience.
I felt the food wasn't that ( main course ) great very plain and not much taste and for the presentation wasn't easy to eat as it was on a slim board apart from that the venue is great and staff very nice
a bit of confusion about the booking as it appeared that we had vouchers which we did not, good relaxing atmosphere, service and food excellent
Always busy and always good value and service. Menu changes every week so you never get fed up. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone
Lunch was fine but not outstanding. I was disappointed with my main course in that it was not of the usual quality Might just have been a off day.
Excellent service and food, wide choice on menu , delicious will definitely recommend to others
