Food was puzzling: calamari said it was served with parsley, but it was rocket. Chilli mayo was not v. Chillli'd. My daughter's pineapple juice wasdark brown, not yellow, and tasted odd but freely chamged to apple-ju. The calamari was well- cooked, just the too bland chilli mayo. Mushroom sauce brilliant. .

Good friendly atmosphere and polite staff would probably go again.

Lovely restaurant and staff, we had the set meal for £22.50, Onion Soup and Chicken coq au vin which was beautifully cooked. The restaurant was not busy but we had a table by the window with very comfy chairs.

We booked in advance as it was my birthday as well as Mother's Day. The food was lovely and has been when I visited previously too. Everyone in our party enjoyed it. The service was faster than we expected on a busy day, which we appreciated, and the staff were good at accommodating our needs.

Great restaurant with good step-free access into the building for wheelchair users. Due to the internal layout, it can be a little challenging to manoeuvre around inside, but the venue does have an accessible WC. I’ve visited several times previously, and this has never put me off it’s one of the better places in the area. The food is fantastic quality.

Lovely decor, ambience, friendly staff and the most amazing food including steak, coq au vin, lamb, mushroom soup. All dishes absolutely delicious. We'll be back.

The table for 3/4 was too small and cramped. The food was good.

It was very noisy and I did not get the quiet table I had asked for, but otherwise it was good, and we both enjoyed the food. My husband was rapturous about his cassoulet.

We went for the first time for a small birthday dinner, and it was lovely! Really recommend. Comfortable, warm, not noisy, lovely food, very good value! Especially enjoyed the whitebait, duck with cherries, crème brûlée. Friendly waitstaff gave us exactly the right amount of attention! Will definitely come again!!

Delicious food... I had the chargrilled tuna and it was cooked perfectly - rare, as requested, and there was just the right amount of chilli heat in the white bean/kale stew that accompanied it. It was just a shame about the slow and inattentive service... The wine only arrived after the food, and staff had to be prompted, despite being ordered at the same time... And the dessert also took an eternity to arrive, despite being asked to order it at the start (fixed price menu) and reminding them (twice).after the main course. In summary - loved the food and wine, shame about the service. Staff were nice, just seemed inexperienced/inattentive.

Good size portions and very tasty food. We had whitebait to start and fish stew. We would have preferred not to have the Christmas music, but that maybe just us!

We enjoyed our evening at Melange. I had the duck and sweet potatoes which was very nice. The house red wine I thought was above average for a house wine and it was served at the right temperature. The pear pie to follow was rather a small portion but tasty. The staff are exceptionally friendly but would benefit from more training, on wine for example. Would we come again? Yes.

A memorable Sunday afternoon meal for 4. A wide menu choice and the cooking was careful and very well executed. The room was perhaps slightly empty after 2pm but we welcomed being able to converse at normal volume. Service was first class - knowledgable, attentive but not fussy. Would certainly recommend.
