There’s a strong neighbourhood feel to Mulberry St Bar/Bistro, but the menu is more like a trip around the world than a saunter down the road in Glasgow. One of the coolest spots in southside Glasgow, Mulberry St Bar/Bistro is one part bar and one part restaurant, so boasts a mouth-watering food menu alongside an inspired and carefully curated drinks list. Whether for lunch, dinner or drinks, it’s impossible to imagine somebody not finding something they’ll love on the long, international menu, so Mulberry St Bar/Bistro is ideal for groups. Please note, however, that it is not on Mulberry St but rather Pollokshaws Road, right by Queen’s Park in the heart of the Southside.
With cosy booths, leather-topped stools and stylish wooden panels, Glasgow’s Mulberry St Bar/Bistro nails the balance between rustic charm and modern elegance. The beer selection is incredibly impressive, with quality European ales, local brews and an ever-changing selection of special draughts on tap, though the food is what really shoots Mulberry St Bar/Bistro above other Southside establishments, covering everything international from sizzling Mexican fajitas to classic cod and chips to Thai yellow curry.
Try for example, their homage to Glasgow in the form of Stornoway black pudding and poached egg on a bed of spinach topped with hollandaise to begin, before a main of Mulberry salmon and smoked haddock fishcakes with chips and salad, king prawn spaghetti with chilli, basil and lemon notes or Mulberry St Bar/Bistro’s signature steamed mussels with white wine and garlic cream tomato and sweet chilli, Thai sauce that will truly blow you away. You’ll find Mulberry St Bar/Bistro along Pollokshaws Road in Southside. Bookings are essential.
Good service, good food, with a variety of specials to choose from as well as the main menu. The food and drink was reasonably priced and well presented. The house merlot was excellent.
Great food and with a very varied menu. Nice coffee too. The service was fab and the ambiance is lovely. Will defo go back. Thanks.
Great food, great service. Never been disappointed any time I've been and I would totally recommend Mulberry Street. And the adjoining bar does great gin and tonics!
Dinner was really lovely at Mulberry St last night. It was very busy with a great atmosphere but despite being fully booked the service was still friendly and efficient. Our food was fantastic and despite having some unusual dietary requirements/limitations everything possible was done to accommodate us. In terms of value for money we thought it was super. Our table was rather near the door but as there wasn't another available we had no option but to sit there but the manager gave us complimentary coffee and tablet which was a nice touch and really not needed as we were still perfectly happy to eat there anyway. We are sure to return here soon. :)
Spur of the moment decision to eat out and what a good decision it was. Booked online and travelled by train to Queens Park from where it's a five minute walk to Mulberry St. This was our first visit but certainly not our last. Great wee bistro and bar. Stuart and his team of friendly helpful staff serving generous portions of delicious food get full marks from us. Tasty starters of mini fishcakes with spicy dip, bread and olives set our appetites going. The citrus chive and sea bass risotto was amazing and the lamb tagine was melt in the mouth, subtly spiced and very moreish. The menu was extensive, varied and it difficult to choose just one meal each! Desserts looked delicious too but we were full so settled for a liqueur coffee and a regular coffee, before finishing our evening with a relaxed drink in the bar. Would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area.
Quite delicious food at Mulberry Street. I had mentioned some particularly unusual dietary requests in my booking and received a call from the manager and was asked to chat with the chef to discuss my choices. You will not find many places these days that will give this level of service to customers. The food was superb and I could relax and enjoy it because I was confident it contained only ingredients I can have. Amazing little restaurant with attentive staff. Will be back next time I am in town. 😀
My mussels smelt a little odd so I mentioned this to the waiting staff. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and apologetic. He replaced my dish with an alternative and deducted the price of our drinks (and the mussels) off our bill. This is the third time I've eaten here and wouldn't hesitate to go back. The food and atmosphere is first class. The mussels were just a blip and the situation was dealt with swiftly and without any awkwardness. Can highly recommend
Quandoo reservation easy and efficient. We had not been to this restaurant for a couple of years but so glad we went back. Comfortable and cosy surroundings, staff especially manager/owner very welcoming. Food was excellent and menu offered a very varied choice. Had drink in bar next door and was able to bring it into restaurant which was good. Extremely good value for money and recommend a visit.
Brilliant place to eat and drink. Good selection in the menu and the chefs are excellent, food is delicious and reasonably priced. Stuart and his staff are lovely, friendly and professional. There is also a lounge area which is cosy and comfortable. We have been many times and will keep going back to Mulberry St.
Go to Mulberry St on a regular basis, mostly for food and drink but sometimes just for drinks with friends. It's a brilliant place to go, food is amazing and the staff and service are first class. We don't stay local but look forward to going as we always have a great night out.
