The best kind of Italian restaurants are family-run Italian restaurants and Nico’s in the heart of Derby is just that. Just off the bustle of Friar Gate on Brick Street, here you’ll find hearty Italian fare prepared by experienced head chef, David Stannard, as well as a few Mexican-inspired dishes, too. We know that sounds like a bit of an odd combination to build a menu around but trust us, at Nico’s, it works. We’d suggest starting with a seafood platter to share then moving onto a hearty calzone or the spicy salmon pasta. Worth the trip from wherever you are in Derby, Nico’s is a real winner.

Beautiful food! Starter, main (with a pizza to share) and dessert. Big portions so delicious, cant wait to come again.
Very nice visit, food a little bit different.very nice polite ,pleasant young waiter.only real dislike was the olives very very salty and black one mushy.
Gr,eat food and well presented. It’s said outside it was the best steak in derby and they weren’t wrong!
