Our service at the Northumberland Arms matched the food. Excellent. My husband had the steak pie and declared it the best he had tasted. I had the vegetarian option which was also delicious. We love visiting the Arms

The food and atmosphere was excellent again & the waitresses were very nice we were there for my wife’s 60th Birthday and they brought a candle out with the dessert and even offered to sing happy Birthday overall a really nice evening will be back soon

My friend and I had a fantastic experience at The Northumberland Arms. The atmosphere was incredibly warm and inviting from the moment we walked in. As for the food, it was a definite 10/10. You can really taste the quality of the local ingredients. We’ll definitely be back!

Best Sunday lunch by far with really professional and friendly staff

Food was delicious - we were served promptly for our Sunday lunch (within 10 mins of ordering) and it was to die for. They did forget the one dessert ordered on our table but this was quickly rectified. Staff were lovely and attentive to our two dogs bringing treats and water!

Lamb on dinner was 90% fat and very small amount belly pork had no crackling roast potatoes were very pale in colour. Sent food back and left

Unfortunately this was very disappointing a very different experience from our last visit. We waited over an hour for food to arrive and when it did everyone’s food was cold and most including meat roast potatoes and Yorkshire’s were inedible, no one came to ask if everything was ok and when we did complain again no one came to ask us why we won’t be back.

This is the sister restaurant to the Blackbird in Ponteland. It serves just as good food in pleasant surroundings. The conservatory offers views of the river Coquet. Would go again but with a slightly bigger budget :-)

We’re regulars here and love it every time we come. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is inviting and the food is always absolutely delicious. And Valentine’s Day was no exception! We shared the Cote de Boeuf which was beautiful and the sides it came with were cooked perfectly - I’m sure it’ll only be a matter of weeks before we’re back again 🙂

Enjoyed the atmosphere in the bar but my leather arm chair, at a standard size dining table was slightly too low.

The beef Sunday lunch was average , also had cauliflower cheese side which was bone dry , no gravy / boat , sadly there was a table with about 12 LOUD children next to us running riot , no fault of the restaurant , would I go back !! Not in a rush

Sunday Lunch was disappointing; the meat (beef) was of poor quality, the veg was undercooked, and the potatoes were anaemic.

Slightly disappointed by the beetroot starter and the ceasar salad. The ‘prawns on toast’ starter was not as good as expected and I believe overpriced for what it was. The soup however was very tasty.

Lovely food service and ambience. Child friendly too. Will be back.

Fantastic country pub with great surroundings and amazing food. Good choice of craft ales from Anarchy Portion sizes were huge and superb value for money. Little too big as it meant there was no room for Sticky Toffee pudding 😞 Wouldn't hesitate to book The Northumberland Arms again

This was our first visit, we ordered the fish and chips which is normally a good gauge of the quality of the food, I can honestly say this was the best fish and chips we have ever eaten, the fish was soft the batter was light the chips were perfect. The desert was light and flavoursome, the portion sizes were perfect, the staff were amazing friendly and courteous, the time between courses seemed to be precisely timed to not make you feel rushed and to give you time to digest courses. This establishment was recommended to us and we can wholeheartedly recommend it. We plan to return very soon.

Food was lovely when it eventually arrived. Took over an hour to get our food then one of the meals was wrong so my son had to wait even longer to eat. A bit of regular communication would have been nice, even just to let us know they were really busy but no one said a thing. They did deduct the price of my son’s meal off the final bill which was appreciated.

We have eaten at the Northumberland Arms a few times and it has always been amazing. This time it felt like they had taken it to a whole new level!!!

The atmosphere at The Northumberland Arms was very welcoming and the service was excellent. Everyone’s dishes were well presented, well cooked and flavourful and we will definitely stay here again when in the area!

Absolutely amazing Sunday roast at a very busy time of year. Has to be done.
