As usual, the food was delicious! The service was attentive and friendly.

Lovely warm cosy atmosphere and the food beautifully presented. The crab starter and the halibut main course was exceptional.

Very welcoming pub with relaxed atmosphere. Room check-in straight forward. Eshot Castle room - absolutely stunning space! Sweet welcome pack for the dog. Evening meal was superb; cannot recommend the food enough. Good breakfast with very friendly staff throughout the stay. Well worth a stay.

The food was very good but the service was inexplicably slow. I am all for waiting for freshly prepared ingredients and meals cooked from scratch but my friend and I had only ordered the light snack - a fish finger bun and steak bun each with fries. It was lunchtime. The pub was busy- ish but not at capacity by any stretch. We just felt we had to wait at least twice as long as you would expect even if food was being cooked from fresh. The point being the last time I was at the pub it was the same. It was evening, I was in a party of 5. Again pub busy enough but not a long way from full. We all ordered fish n chips so simple order and the food took an extraordinary length of time to come to the table. Good job the food is good when it arrives because otherwise I would not return to the place or recommend it.

Lovely time all round and children well catered for. Food could have been out to the table a bit quicker but the children managed to wait well.

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch here yesterday. Plenty of meat. Beautifully cooked veg. We ordered extra sides which were equally as yummy! Shame we don’t live locally!!

We love a Sunday visit to the Northumberland Arms to finish off our trip to the area. The food is amazing and the staff are all so friendly. I especially look forward to the huge portion of Sticky Toffee Pudding 🙂

I ordered the lamb pie which was one of the nicest I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked with amazing rosemary chips and carrots. My wife had the potato and cauliflower pie which was equally impressive. We have recently moved to the area and will definitely be back. The young staff were very good and deserve a mention.Thanks.

Trevor is such a genuinely lovely gentleman that when he greets you on arrival, you just know that he's going to ensure that everything is ok. And it was! Perfect, as I've come to expect, no matter who I take as my guests nor when I take them. It was a celebratory lunch for Evelyn who had turned 89 the day before, so we started with a glass of Prosecco!. We had the fish fingers and they were truly amazing! The batter was light and crisp, and the fish inside was so moist and in huge flakes. They were accompanied by a dressed side salad and skinny fries, with two dips. We both thoroughly enjoyed them. We had icecream for dessert - with a candle in it for Evelyn, a lovely touch - which was really creamy, followed by coffee. The service was of the highest quality from Trevor, who continually checked that everything was fine and who engaged in light conversation with us, so we felt really at home! Unreservedly recommended and I look forward to my next visit!

Lovely meal would highly recommend the steak 🥩 we had with peppercorn sauce,handcut chips ,Mac n cheese & cavalo Nero - solid 10/10 and I’m the fussiest person around ! If I had to sum it up with one word I’d say AMAZING! 😋

Booked this after seeing previous reviews and it definitely did not disappoint. Amazing food, but I would particularly recommend the cheese dessert. So pretty. Not your average cheese board, but instead a thing of beauty!

We were a group of 4 people. The atmosphere is lovely in the pub, very intimate and cosy. Our food was delicious as usual. I recommend the fish and chips. We got large, but my eyes were bigger than my belly and I couldn't eat it all.
