Delicious Sunday roast again. Never fails to impress. Shame we live so far away!
Pleasant friendly staff. Excellent meals...so good we've booked for tomorrow evening as well!
Lovely service, lovely table, excellent lunch and cosy fire - thank you!
Lovely pub, with a nice atmosphere. The staff were very attentive, extremely friendly and welcoming. Sunday lunch was delicious, my pork belly was very tasty and he portion size of the meal was generous. We both had a delicious sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I would come back here again.
Wow! Every single dish (3 adults and two kids - had starters mains with few sides and pudding) was absolutely delicious. Brilliant birthday meal for my wife and we are already planning when to come back. The black pudding scotch egg was just perfect - the prawns were spot on, the creamy bacon cabbage side was worth the trip alone and the meat platter and the veg on the plate - amazing - was ALL so tasty. Your kitchen nailed it !!
Fantastic pub and fantastic food. Lovely place, very warm and welcoming. Staff were great and food was outstanding. Probably the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever had!!
Superb staff food and venue but seating in main bar was a little noisy but this isn’t something the restaurant can control
Really enjoyed our meal good all round definitely come back
Lovely food friendly staff will be back thankyou lovely accommodation
Exceptional service and food! Really nice atmosphere and furnishings. Family friendly too
fabulous place to eat, food and staff are amazing, lovely atmosphere
Food outstanding. Staff wonderful and attentive. We will be back.
We arrived to find the restaurant very busy with a big party of people, but were immediately taken to a lovely table in a discreet corner of the restaurant. Considering how many people were there, the service was attentive, atmosphere warm and inviting, and food and drinks delightful. We really couldn't have asked for more either from the service provided by cheerful and caring staff, and piping hot, delicious food which couldn't be faulted. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning very soon!
Lovely lunch today at Northumberland Arms served as always with smiles and welcoming hospitality. Highly recommend
Heard good reviews online and decided to try! Glad we did, lovely pub, friendly service and the food was delicious! I had the steak which was really flavourful and my husband the burger, he found it a little bit overcooked but enjoyed it anyway! Would definitely return!
This is probably our 6 visit in 2 years . Been with our family 3 times (10 of us in total. Always excellent service and food BUT today’s beef was cooked how we like our beef medium to medium rare. What we ( wife and I would say is that the beef was not as nice as previously we’ve had - it was tougher than normal, but more chewy than the melt in your mouth beef had before.
Excellent food & service. Thanks for a lovely time. Lin
service was a bit slow before and after taking our order but food was exceptional.
Lovel food, well presented and staff are terrific and friendly. Well Done.
Amazing restaurant. Food and service was fantastic. Will definitely be back!
Food lovely and staff were very friendly. Parking not great.
Good value and atmosphere. The service was pleasant but it was quite slow.
. Nicely cooked food in a warm and welcoming atmosphere
We had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with lots of vegetables. Everything was fine apart from the beef which was really tough, difficult to cut and even more difficult to chew. Unfortunately we will not be eating here again.
Great service and awesome food. Definitely return to experience again! Thanks you
Lovely meal, good service and nice surroundings. Reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Second meal at the Northumberland Arms, this time joined by my parents and their dog. Beautiful meal and a great time had by all, hosted by a friendly service team. Will definitely be back for more!
The food was delicious and service excellent. The interior is clean comfortable and pleasing on the eye. Location beautiful!
Excellent staff … attentive and efficient. Starter very good - black pud scotch eggs Lamb slow roast dinner - veg and Yorkshire pud excellent, lamb not quite as expected being a bit thin and fatty. Roast potatoes too …. obviously reheated so were rather hard. Hopefully constructive comments. We’d definitely come back.
It was Another lovely meal, we will be back for sure
Lovely setting with a pleasing menu and food that is expertly cooked. Menu highlights are the Sharing Platters which are a great option for 2 if you only want a modest lunch. The batter on the haddock was the best I have ever tasted, as were the chips to go with. You will be treated royally by your host, Trevor.
A cosy atmosphere and comfortable surroundings. Good service and very good food. I am gluten free and there was a reasonable choice of main meals. Met with friends and we weren’t rushed. Value for money. Dog friendly..
Love the cosiness of the pub and the location. Service is always good.
Always welcomed by staff. Friendly atmosphere. Never have a complaint about food or staff
Table was ready for us on arrival. Staff welcoming and food was very tasty.
Food tasty and bar area is warm and welcoming. Will definitely be back
Nice food and good hospitality. One of our regular venues
We had a very nice meal, the service was very good and the ambience very good also. Price represented good value so what more can I say.
We had Fantastic food and the atmosphere was great .
The food and the service was good. Look forward to visiting again
We were staying in the area for New Year so after looking at the reviews booked for the 9 of us. The welcome from staff was warm and we promptly got seated. The menu was limited which was disapointed as there was no mention of this on the website. We had the selection of breads ro share. This took 30 minutes to come out to the table. We then waited a further hour after we had finished our starter for the mains to come out. This is ridiculous and it wasn't untill my husband went and said something we had been left in the conservatory with no interaction from the staff at all during this time. There was no apology just i will go and see. However the food was exceptional although a little pricey, but everyone enjoyed the food. I would definitely go back if the services was improved.
Great food and service, very dog friendly. Booked again for Sunday.
Lovely dog friendly restaurant Food was amazing Service was excellent
Food excellent would’ve been better in the main bar rather than conservatory
We love The Northumberland Arms because of its traditional and cosy ambience. We live about 50 mins drive away and experienced the Christmas Fayre menu last year and had no hesitation in booking again this year. We have also stayed a few times. I had booked the meal well in advance online. When we arrived, we had to wait a short while for a table to be set which I found unusual as we had booked. The whole pub was, I would say, half full overall. Our table was booked for 7:45pm and once we had ordered our meal (no starters), this did not arrive for a further 50 mins which I felt was poor. The restaurant was by this time only about a third full. The food was nice, plate hot etc, sprouts were a bit over-cooked. Dessert was delicious. Nice food and menu - just a shame about the wait. Staff were all lovely.
The food was amazing, service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely.
Not the first time we’ve been here, and definitely not the last. Lovely ambience and staff very friendly. Food is brilliant too.
Fabulous food and staff were extremely efficient and friendly 😍
Beautiful surroundings, great food and service. Would highly recommend 😊
As always, the food was excellent! The welcome and the service were wonderful too with young attentive staff. Also a genuine welcome for our little dog.
