Good indian, could have slightly better menu. Also seating upstairs does not have as good atmosphere in my view. Overall I give Nutmeg a 4/6.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, a really nice mix of usual Indian classics and more gourmet dishes with a twist. They also had a Kerlan tasting menu on offer with a flight of wines to pair with the food - which looked tempting. The only negative comment I would make was that we were sat quite close to the door and there was a chilly blast of air as each new customer came and went. Perhaps a thick velvet curtain would do the trick - there is a little lobby between the outside and inside restaurant with a door, but this doesn't seem to do the trick. So to round up, Food delicious, nicely presented, unusual combinations as well as old favourites and excellent, attentive service. I would definitely recommend Nutmeg if you fancy a more upmarket Indian rather than the local curry house, no sitar music and flock wallpaper here, a more sophisticated take on the genre!

Fantastic food, some really unusual dishes on the menu that set Nutmeg apart from your standard Indian restaurant. The squid starter and pork cheek vindaloo from the chef's specialities were highlights for us. The service was great too - friendly and informal but efficient.

Very good food. Smaller area of restaurant not as nice as downstairs but still cosy. Great service and would come back. Some Indian music would have been preferred to generic Xmas songs.

We had an excellent overall experience at Nutmeg. We were greeted warmly, seated comfortably and served attentively. Of more importance, the food was delicious and varied, although, and rightly so, the menu is not extensive. But that means that what there is is freshly prepared and beautifully cooked

We were so impressed with all the food. I’d say it was the best Indian meal I ever had. The service was excellent too. I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was my 60th birthday meal so many thanks for a very memorable meal. Just wished I lived up here and could make it one of my regular haunts.

After what was our third visit to Nutmeg yet again we experienced absolutely delicious food, amazing service and overall fantastic ambience. The chicken tikka starter was perfection, Nutmeg also prides itself on having an extensive drinks menu and exclusive cocktails. Easily one of the best Indian restaurants in Bristol, highly recommended.

Beautifully cooked authentic Indian food, friendly helpful staff. Regularly changing menus allows those of us who like many dishes to always find something new. Certainly one of the best, if not the best, Indian restaurant in Bristol.

Once again delish food and service. Last night was my fifth time and i get involved with facebook and other Nutmeg social media. Its busy, bustle and buzz. There was a birthday celebration last night. The whole place joined in the sing song. Just great. Just to be clear... No 1 is food taste and quality. The indian down the road 3 doors was deserted. Nutmeg was full of happy diners. Keep up the good work and happy first birthday Nutmeg.

This was a supper with friends who we hadn't seen for some time. One of the party was in a wheel chair. The restaurant staff were brilliant. They helped with getting the wheel chair into the restaurant and then with transferring the chair at the table. The had an excellent meal; the Goan cod curry, Monkfish curry and prawn curry were all full of delicate flavours. Peshware naans, saffron rice and popadoms were all as they should be. It was a Monday evening but the restaurant was full; a good marker. The staff kindly ordered a taxi with a ramp and again helped with transferrance to the wheel chair and exit from the restaurant. The was a memorable experience both for the Indian cuisine and the extemely competent and kind staff. Highly recommended.
