This is the second time I've been to Paesan having initially hesitated because of the Observer review but the service has been extraordinary both times, and the food is simply excellent. I've now had the mussels, the tagliata steak and watched two different dining partners devour the papardelle ragu. Highly recommend the sicillian white (recommended by the waiter) and if you're feeling totally indulgent - a side of french fries cooked in truffle oil with a smear of dolcellate will be the best cheesy chips you've ever eaten.

Friendly service. Great food - from a wide range of tasty options. Handy location at the entrance to Exmouth Market. Enjoyed our first visit. Will return.

The venue is located on a large corner. The staff were polite & friendly, while the food was excellent. I would defo go back soon.

Delicious meal but we did have to wait nearly an hour for our food. There were 4 of us for an early lunch at 12.30 so I was a little surprised that it took so long as the restaurant wasn't full and we only ordered 4 main courses. But it was very tasty and fresh when it finally arrived. Definitely recommend the restaurant if you have time on your hands and not in a hurry.

Great service from start to finish. Really fresh favourful food. We shared some small plates which were perfect for lunch. A very enjoyable lunch indeed.

Great food, good value for the price, and friendly service too. For the small plates, I would definitely recommend the burrata with aubergine. We'll be back!

Paesan was a great choice for my birthday celebration. The food was simple and delicious as an Italian food should always be. But the biggest highlight of the evening was after dinner when we went downstairs to the basement cocktail bar. Stav B and Alessandro hosted us amazingly well with the most delicious cocktails I have ever tried. Happiness and love all around.

This is a real gem of a restaurant. The underground cocktail bar is funky and has a good happy hour that's worth a pre-dinner visit. The pasta was absolutely delicious and a bargain for the quality. Service was also great. recommended!

Always have really delicious simple food here and tonight's service was extra good. Our waiter got the timing perfect and had just the right balance of making sure we had exactly what we needed without being overly present. Downstairs to Bitters & Rye for cocktails afterwards had a special really well done Hallowe'en twist. 10 out of 10!

Nice atmosphere, lively and vibrant. The food was great, we ended up ordering way too much as the portion sizes are big. Good wine list and fair prices. Would recommend and will definitely be back, maybe even with the kids over lunch!

The mixed antipasti contained just meats with just tiny amounts of veg and olives. Slow service and £20 for it was added to the bill.
