From start to finish we had an amazing time food and wine superb and complimented each other. The sweets were to die for. Had a great lunch. Thank you Red onion

Having made an error in my booking (booked for 2 instead of 5) the assistant quickly found a solution to accommodate us within the fully booked restaurant. Drinks were quickly ordered and arrived sharply. Our food order was then taken and again within a short period of time they were serving them. The staff are attentive, friendly and overall on the ball. The food is of the highest quality and presented wonderfully. I highly recommend this restaurant, definitely one of the best in Glasgow.

We booked our next lunch in Glasgow at Red Onion on 6th April during our lunch, today.

Food and service were good. The restaurant is looking a bit tired and could do with some refresh.

Once again a great meal with amazing flavours. Served by friendly and helpful staff.

As everytime we have been there the food was amazing. We all enjoyed ourselves. The staff were so friendly and the service perfect. Can't wait till our next visit.

Need to sort out service. Same last time we went but gave it another go as food is good (albeit same menu, variation would be good). Staff need to be assigned to a table. Being asked by several staff members within seconds of each other for drinks / food order just ruins whole dining experience - overbearing and rushed service. Didn’t even have jackets off before we were being asked to order. Glasses being cleared before drinks fully finished at table. Table behind also refused drinks with 25 mins still to go on booking- far from relaxed and welcoming. Won’t be back.

My visit was marred by the presence of unsightly and not very clean perspex screens between tables. There was in fact a build up of dust between the panel and the bench backs.

Lovely space, good service and great food on a very reasonably priced fixed price menu. Good wine choice by the glass or carafe.

An extremely enjoyable lunch. Very good selection on all courses. Excellent drinks list with loads of non alcoholic choices. More than we’ve ever seen. Nice to see 125 ml glasses of wine available too. Extremely efficient, friendly service. Chef, patron, John Quigley taking the time to cruise and smooze his appreciative customers. What’s not to like!

Food was ok - was the verdict at our table. Would we return ? Maybe not .

Friendly staff, good atmosphere and lovely fire helped make a great lunch with old friends. Plenty good food washed down with ample wine. We will be back!

Lovely food, had scallops n chorizo. Mains Beef with Black Pudding, sublime, hubby had Rib-eye Steak with peppercorn sauce, with fries, loved it! Nice bottle Sauvingon. We finished with lattes. Really enjoyed.

Unfortunately not impressed with the food. Main of sea bass served on a large heap of ice cold lettuce on a cold plate so very quickly too cold. Rib eye steak very tough, plate filled up with chips and salad. The cheese plate was the best dish of the evening. Staff very friendly- no problems there

Visiting for the second time and using an itison voucher we found the menu excellent and the staff delightful. We will return.

It was (as always) perfect! The staff were so lovely and friendly esp to our daughter. Every waitress took their time to speak to her and made her feel welcome. We love visiting Red Onion and with me being coeliac it’s a place I trust with gf foods. The food is delicious! We always leave trying to plan our next visit. We have been for years and it’s lovely we can bring our 8 year old daughter with us now too. The best there is and we will always be back. It’s such an amazing restaurant. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Sadly I myself didn’t manage to go due to a last minute health issue, but my three friends were delighted with everything. We would definitely go again!

Requiring a gluten-free diet, this restaurant is amazing. Extensive GF menu and if you have the Sunday roast you get everything including yorkshire puddings and cauliflower cheese. Usually if I eat out for Sunday lunch you get half of what everyone else does as they just leave things off, at the Red Onion you don’t miss out at all. Just shows what can be done with a little thought and effort.

Delicious well presented food, excellent value. Staff so lovely & friendly. Chef chatted to us after our meal which was a really nice gesture. Loved it ❤️

Lovely place shite food reminded me of eating at a cafe in the 80s. Steak had more fat than care to mention

The food was amazing. We even got a personal visit from the chef/owner to our table which I thought was a great personal touch. Couldn’t fault it. Food, ambience, service. Perfect.
