My expectations weren’t great having read various poor reviews however my experience was very different. Very pleasant staff with the waitress providing us with her recommendation when asked. The food was delicious and portion sizes were just right. I’d say the decor needs a bit updating but that didn’t detract from our experience at all.

Great restaurant to visit, the staff are great led by owner John Quigley. A perfect choice menu and wine list which are just the right size for your choices. It’s always worth a return visit !

We visited the Red Onion for a pre theatre meal and thoroughly enjoyed the experience again, we enjoyed the atmosphere and great selection of good food at a very reasonable cost. I can recommend this restaurant and will definitely return again in the future.

Great service and good tasty food at reasonable price. The waiting staff were very efficient and the food was served quickly.

Overall, a wonderful experience. We were greeted with a very warm welcome. Atmosphere was terrific and the food was delicious. It was great being able to talk to the owner/chef , who mixed with all at the end of our meal.

Lunch time on a Monday so not particularly busy. Lovely service and food. Would recommend

Staff very friendly and obliging despite us changing our plans twice

Excellent service and atmosphere. Most of the food was wonderful, though one of the steaks was a little disappointing.

We were a party of six with a range of dietary requests which the staff dealt with effortlessly (or that's what it looked like!) and we all agreed that the food was first class. The restaurant was busy (it was a Saturday evening) but that contributed to an ambience of people enjoying the food and the company. An excellent excellent night out!

Food was nice, setting lovely, but service was awful. It was fine up to a point but a blonde girl who came in towards the end of our meal/beginning of her shift was simply rude. My husband asked me to check the bill as his sight isn't great and on seeing this she came over and announced "is everything alright with the bill" really loudly. We told her it was. She came back with the card reader, we paid, including a tip, and then she practically shouted, just need to make sure this goes through. Really no idea why you'd employ such a rude, nasty young girl and no idea why she has such a chip on her shoulder... It's cool to be kind, not a little b**ch....

We had the itison set menu and the food was just outstanding

Went on Saturday 27th for lunch. Starters were fine however went quickly down hill as the steak frites and the blade of beef were really of poor quality. We won’t be back. This restaurant might have been good at one point. But not anymore. There are far better places to eat in Glasgow.

I have been a few times. Wonderful experience everytime Was a special dinner fir my daughters 30th. Food, service, and food was fantastic. The staff where incredible. Thank you all
