We visited to celebrate a friend's 60th birthday party. The atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. Staff were excellent without being too overbearing. There were four of us and we all completely cleared our plates...I think that speaks for itself!!!! Would highly recommend!

Voucher from son and daughter in law. Fantastic food. Ist course pate and onion soup, so tasty. Main course, fish cake. Best I have ever tasted. Blade of beef, so tender. Staff were so attentive and helpful. Would definitely come back again

Wonderful food indeed. Flavours and tastes were a joy; all as served with happy and attentive staff. But expensive whisky at £7.50 a measure, when the whisky menu indicated £4.50 !?

Great location The ambiance is delightful. , I highly recommend dining here. The food was delicious ( set menu/ fairly priced for centre of city) and the service was friendly & professional.

Enjoyed my meal, roast dinner, my only complaint is I found my knife blunt, too blunt for the meat and veg

On this visit our table was upstairs. The noise level was quite high and we could hear every word of the conversation the diners at the next table were having. I now feel quite well versed in football and the difficulty on obtaining reasonable accommodation in Germany! That said the food was delicious and the service impeccable and we look forward to visiting again but perhaps next time downstairs.

On the mezzanine level , paint work in the booths really needs a touch up looks dirty due to the marks on the wall . Food was very good and hope to revisit in future.

Perfect visit to celebrate mum’s 85th birthday. Plenty parking around on a Saturday afternoon! Lovely welcoming atmosphere and super attention from friendly staff. Lunch was perfect. Can highly recommend the tempura prawns and duck main! Thank you.

I hadn't been to the Red Onion in quite a few years and had forgotten how good the food was. Staff were very pleasant and offered guidance and recommendations on food and drink.

I have always enjoyed my meals and the atmosphere. Tonight was no exception. One of my favourite restaurants

This was our first visit, but definitely won't be our last! The pre-theatre menu is exceptional value and the quality of the food outstanding. The staff were professional and friendly. A minor issue with how long we had our table booked for was quickly and politely dealt with to our satisfaction without fuss.

Three friends booked to celebrate a birthday. We are fairly regular visitors here, drawn by delicious food, atmosphere and the unfailingly excellent staff. One of us has to eat gluten free and loves having a full menu to choose from. The other gannets just love the selection of starters and mains, and the generously sized portions. It’s a great space, and we especially love the fire, the floral displays and the theatrical curtains at the entrance, all of which add warmth and drama to what could be an intimidating space. Above all, we love the Glaswegian combination of warmth and humour embodied by the staff. It is this which draws us back.

Food tasted lovely, good choice on the menu only comment I would make was that the main course wasn't very hot

Waiters were very attentive & ensured we were happy with our seats & made recommendations on the food, which was very helpful as it all looked amazing. Nice touch that the chef came out a couple of times to make sure everyone was enjoying themselves. We will definitely be back.

John Quigley is an excellent Chef and host. The restaurant was nearly full on a Wednesday night says it all.

Good choice for vegans with a separate menu. Food was all very tasty, particularly the haggis bonbons. Staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a very pleasant evening on our first visit to Glasgow. Only criticism would be that the vegan menu/prices were different to what is showing on the web site - was hoping for a crispy bean cutlet but had a very good burger instead.

Food was nice and staff friendly and attentive. Restaurant cool as there was draft from somewhere. Decor of florals and lights lovely feature, however wasted by big plastic trough sitting near front door with wet floor sign and other bits and pieces stored in there. Trough in view from our table.
