The atmosphere was warm, bright and welcoming. The food was excellent. John and staff were on top form.

We really enjoyed our small pre-Xmas gettogether for lunch. The food was delicious and the service was generally excellent, although the bar was slow to produce our drinks orders.

As I am Coeliac, I really appreciate the breadth of choice in the Gluten Free menu. I have confidence the kitchen procedures are in place to avoid cross-contamination. This is the best menu I have ever had in the 10 years since diagnosis. The waitress was also Coeliac which increased my level of confidence. Wow!

Usually come to Glasgow each year for Xmas shopping and try to visit Red Onion when we can. As usual, everything was great and it was nice to the restaurant all decked out with their Xmas decorations, very unexpected and a lovely surprise. Thank you

Overall food and service were excellent. One very small complaint as I like my food piping hot and disappointingly the otherwise delicious French onion soup was only just warm ☹️ My first visit and look forward to returning and hopefully the soup will be hot 🤞

The service was impeccable! So attentive, yet not overbearing. The servers gave good advice and suggestions. The fish cake was a little too strong for me, but that is my taste, not quality. My husband had the same and enjoyed it very much. As a disabled person and an ambulatory wheelchair user, the doorway is flat (for Glasgow and all it's slopes 😜) but would have been too narrow for my chair to get through, thankfully we managed to get parked right outside, so I didn't need it. There were toilets on the ground level, although I never used them, but the server made me aware of them right away. Terrific service! I enjoyed this restaurant very much and would return again.

Lovely meal with a nice atmosphere, staff very friendly and efficient. The food was really lovely . First time in The Red Onion , won’t be the last.

My experience as an Itison customer. Starter was pleasant, my main was a steak and fries at a small supplement, no veg other than Rocket garnish?. Small rib eye? Was quite tough and the steak knive was blunt so it was difficult and disappointing. Great expectations deflated.

Food was ok, basic fare but we were disappointed the menus and wall beside us were dirty. I don't think we are too picky this was quite bad. The staff were great, very attentive and food came quickly. We were going to the theatre and got checked out very quickly which was appreciated

The food was very very good but the table beside us - we had lunch - was very loud infact they were obnoxious. We could not hear each other at all . So not the fault of the restaurant just rude diners.

We had a delicious pre theatre dinner here-The Bang Bang Chicken followed by Steakl & Frites. The food was abso;utely delicious and the staff could not have been nicer. The chef/owner came out for a chat too. I would highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back!
