Excellent friendly service and wonderful food. The Best duck ever.

Anniversary celebrations were the reason for our visit and Red Onion and it didn’t disappoint. The food and our server were amazing. Can’t wait to visit again.

Great food but rude service from a female server. The couple next to us felt the same and actually spoke to us about it. Food was practically thrown at us without any eye contact or pleasantry. Later a male server started work and he was lovely. Friendly and efficient. We asked to pay the bill and were met with the female server again with stony silence and a card machine thrust in front of us. Not a word spoken!! Don’t think we will be back!

Great service and food as always. My friend had a beef and black pudding dish she said it was the best beef dish she has ever tasted.

Asked for dessert menu then waited about 20mins no one came back for order. Paid bill and left.

A first visit here. I am coeliac and my daughter is lactose intolerant. Husband is a "muggle". We all enjoyed our starters and main courses. The food was delicious and so fresh with really great flavour combinations. Too much for us to fit in a dessert but they all looked amazing. Highly recommend.

Was so excited to be back as even during lockdown and they were serving takeout I was shielding so couldn’t partake However it was well worth the wait as the food was amazing as usual. Can’t wait to go back.

Lovely atmosphere and food. French onion soup had a hint of heat. Sea bass Caesar salad was well presented and a nice New Zealand wine. Will be back 😊

Very pleased with visit to Red Onion. The food was excellent. Also the plastic screens for social distancing remained in place. Although no longer necessary, reassuring just the same.

Have been before and this visit not nearly as good as last time as restaurant so quiet this time and service nowhere near as good, as one of the waitresses very offhand.

I ordered vegetable soup - a thick orangey concoction arrived which was very spicy. I couldn't finish it. There were shards of something which might have been melba toast - no butter. The fish for my course was off. I was very disappointed as I had read great reviews of this restaurant. I wasted £29 on the Itison voucher. We later saw one of the chefs in the adjacent alleyway smoking very unusual tobacco. That might account for the poor food.

Friendly and helpful staff. Food was amazing. This was my first visit but I’ll definitely be back.
