First time visit (lunch) but it was recommended and the food was good, service was good, - really friendly and did not hassle us at all. No issues at all and would happily go back again.

Would give a 9 out of 10. Point off for very small issues. After main meal ordered a dessert and coffee and tea. Drinks arrived well before the dessert so to me in wrong order. Also a small bit of tablet, mint or shortbread with drinks would have been an added touch. Apart from that all great food and service and will be back and would recommend.

We enjoyed a most delicious meal, with excellent, friendly service. Every dish we tried was exceptional.

Me and my mum dined here last night for the first time, we got shown to our table as soon as we arrived and were served drinks, we had an itison voucher and choose from a great menu choice, i went with the Bang Bang chicken which was delicious and my mum had the Scallops, which she said were the best she had ever eaten, both were big portion sizes. we followed this with the Blade of Beef for me, the beef was melt in the mouth and the black pudding mash was devine, my mum loved the Seabass and said she will be back soon to have this again soon. The chef John chatted to us a few times during our service, he was lovely and chatted to most of his customers. The waiting staff were also very friendly and efficient. All in this was great value for money, we will be back soon with or without a voucher.

Red Onion staff were excellent., as usual. Very attentive. The lunch time 2 course menu is good value for money. It would be good to have some more variety as we eat here quite regularly.

The only thing that stopped this review being amazing was the toilet for disabled. Clearly the store and cloakroom, no paper towels or hand drier and the door was so heavy and hard to close and open especially when on crutches. That said the food is amazing and staff really helpful would definitely go again

Good customer service. Tasty food. Good choice of menu despite Itison deal. The restaurant looked well facing INWARDS though I was staring into a street-side window with dreary venetian blinds. Otherwise a great visit!

Arrived early. The staff quickly cleared our table. Staff very attentive and friendly. Food was excellent. Restaurant was busy and a good atmosphere. Staff even presented us with a free sweet for our anniversary that day. All in all good value. Would definitely go back

We were looking for an elevated culinary experience with gluten free options and found the Red Onion online. We were not sure what to expect and were pleasantly surprised to find a cozy ambiance with extremely welcoming staff. The food was excellent with a large gluten free selection. The monkfish Thai curry and GF sea bass were particularly great! The Red Onion staff work as a seamless team, all engaging and knowledgeable. Amy was wonderful. Thanks Red Onion for a great meal in Glasgow!

Average food, average service..all looks a bit tired and feels like it needs a good clean too. My plate was chipped and dirty. Food uninspiring. So many better places to eat in the city.

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent. 4 of us arrived early - we were shown to a table and offered drinks until our other guests arrived and table was cleared and made available to us. Girls were lovely, polite and friendly but efficient. Food was great- both starters and mains. Not to mention the sweets. Fantastic atmosphere. An individual sort of restaurant, run by a married couple. The food is well cooked and just that bit different from other more standardised places. Pleasant young ladies serving. Highly recommended.

The food was fantastic, proper grown up food of quality and quantity - we’ll definitely be back. Oh, and not to forget, the staff were lovely and very attentive. 10/10.
