Excellent food and service as always. The best vegan food in Glasgow, made from real ingredients and not the usual processed junk and fake meat. Will be back again...and again!

Lovely meal and great service, would thoroughly recommend so much so that we made another booking for our next trip into town. Good that the chef comes out to engage with the customers

Booked the pre theatre meal. There was a good variety of starters, mains and desserts. My daughter and I had steak and both were cooked exactly as we requested. Service was very efficient and staff friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be returning. Very good value for money.

This was our first time at Red Onion and did not know what to expect. Its an amazing place and well worth walking that little bit further from other restaurants close to the Concert Hall. The service was great, the ambience just right, the food first class and even though it did start to fill up with other diners very quickly the staff remained calm and professional. We look forward to our next visit to Glasgow and will definitely return to Red Onion without hesitation.

Delicious meal beautifully presented by helpful and knowledgable staff. Looking forward to returning to Red Onion. The monkfish Lena was excellent and my husband loved the sea bass. Starters were super top. Did not have dessserts abs in fact we were not offered any - must have read our minds as we did it have enough room left for dessert

Delicious food, relaxing environment and welcoming staff, for our family of 5, with 3 teenagers. We were offered the Pre-Theatre Menu even though it was 7.30pm on a Friday evening. A memorable occasion, hopefully to be repeated in the not too distant future.

Booked a table for the pre-theatre before going to an event at the Hydro . Once again the quality and choice of food was superb and an absolute steal at £16.95 foe three courses .

This was my fifth visit to The Red Onion - previously, once as a work lunchtime outing and three times with my partner and other couples. As always, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. On this occasion we took my partner's parents as part of a Christmas outing to the theatre and they were extremely impressed with the venue and loved their menu choices. It is very refreshing to enjoy good food in such nice surroundings while being looked after by attentive and efficient staff and to be charged a reasonable tariff. We all agreed that dinner for four (2x3 courses and 2x2 courses), including a bottle of wine and soft drinks for under a hundred pounds in a quality, city centre restaurant was impeccable value - and we got parked at the door. Looking forward to our next visit soon.

As always red onion never disappoints. The hardest part of our visit was choosing which options to go for and the enevitable food envy when you see everything arrive. My tip would be visit with someone who likes to share and then you can have a taste of theirs too 😉.

Nice atmosphere; friendly staff and excellent food at a reasonable price. We had travelled through from Edinburgh because of the range of vegan options and were not disappointed.

Great service, great food and great atmosphere. The freshness can be tasted in every bite and wonderfully complemented by the most delightful sauces. The only thing stopping this being a 6 and not exclusive to this restaurant is the need to serve soft drinks in 200ml bottles at a very substantial mark up! Not a major issue and understand staff costs, running costs etc are added to this but ordering 2 in the one go (I like a pint) just double the price to £4+ for 400ml! Great restaurant with a great reputation but draught coke surely wouldn't damage this.

Service was friendly and attentive, food was delicious with so much choice for all tastes including vegan and gluten free in our party, (this alone was a triumph!) and even for midweek the ambience was excellent. Not our first visit and certainly not our last

One of my regular haunts. The standard of food and service from staff is always consistent top class. A fail safe option for a quick lunch with colleagues, a quick pre-theatre with friends or a lingering lunch or dinner as a wee treat. What makes this place special is the owner and chefs willingness to not only accommodate but positively cater four for differing food requirements e.g. Coeliac, vegan and a wide variety of allergies. Delightful!

Good value and tasty food with a good variety of choices on the menu. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The only criticism is that my meal wasn't particularly hot so it was perhaps waiting for the others to be ready.

Great food. The restaurant was busy around 6pm. As they have a pre theatre menu, I would think that this would be the reason why, as the main meals were a little overpriced. Look for good deals with the Red Onion as this is a lovely little restaurant.

Good was good but glasses scratched by dishwasher, black plates which mains were served on we chipped round edges and cheap paper napkins. Also space in booth we were placed at was so tight it was uncomfortable. So good good wasted by lack of attention to detail!

We really enjoyed our meal at the Red Onion. Great choice on the menu. All three courses were all we could have asked for. I normally only ever have two courses, but decided to have three, as did my two friends, and we were glad that we did. The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Great value for money and each of us would be happy to recommend the Red Onion to friends and family and would visit again. Cannot really think of anything negative to say about the food or service. The only criticism would be that the tired toilets let it down. Definately not the same standard as the food.

Very good right up until we had to pay the bill. The staff seemed very disinterested, we had to seek them out to say bye and even then they still seemed to be busy. Even then there was no thank you.

The Red Onion never disappoints, the quality of the food is outstanding and choosing from the fixed price menu makes it a very affordable option for a late lunch or a pre-theatre meal. We have been occasional customers at the Red Onion for several years now and the meal and service are always first class. Quite often chef/owner John Quigley comes round the tables to chat to the diners, a lovely, personal touch. I would recommend the Red Onion to anyone looking for unpretentious, good food and friendly hospitality.

Excellent venue took my sister who lives in London and wishes Red Onion had a place in London as it was so good to be able to eat vegan dishes with meat eating family who also enjoyed their dinner as much as the vegan and veggieeater too

Fabulous food as always! Could have 3 courses of the French Onion soup alone! The Blade of Beef was beautifully tender and the chicken was equally nice. Highly recommended.
