Red Onion

Got there at 7:55 for an 8 o'clock reservation. My wife and left at 8:20 having not even been asked for a drink order. Terrible service.

lovely place with attentive staff. French onion soup was amazing. Steaks so so !! Chips tasted frozen and so Mcdonalds. I had pork which was amazing and the chocolate brownie with icecream was delicious

Good value food and voucher deals are well priced; service first class; would certainly go back and recommend the Red Onion to family and friends

Great choice. Excellent service great food and lovely environment. Can't wait to go back soon. The menu is small but has lots of choices and nothing seems to be to much trouble

This was our first visit to Red Onion. Very happy they had a full Vegan side menu, all the options looked amazing so very difficult to make a decision. Both service and food was over the top - will definitely be back! <3

Excellent food and service. Staff were friendly and attentive . Restaurant is clean and welcoming . The set menu is great value and includes lovely dishes that would suit all tastes at good price

Food and service were excellent. My wife has severe food intolerances and appreciated the gluten and dairy free menu. No need to ask what is in everything or for something to be left out. Will definitely be back.

Very good resturant great meal and service will go back again .Starter's excellent and main coarse followed by cheese board all good .Very busy but thay is a good sign

Food delicious as always. Pre-theatre but it was getting busy. Staff attentive. Only disappointment was we asked for 2 large glasses of wine when we sat down followed by another 2 during the meal and were charged for separate glasses. I would have expected them to suggest we just bought the bottle given there couldn't have been much, if anything, left in it rather than charging for individual glasses - will remember that if I go again.

Food was ok but not great. Rather expensive for what I thought was an average meal. Had heard great things but was quite disappointed. Dessert choice was minimal and so was the portion of vegan choc brownie which was quite dry. Sorry would not recommend.

Very friendly and efficient staff-attentive but not overwhelming. The place has a really nice laid back comfortable ambiance. The Food was lovely. We will definitely be going back.

Pre-theatre menu was excellent value for money and portions were good sized. Staff were very pleasant yet professional. Modern open decor which may not be to everyone's taste.First time visit for us but sure to return!

Attentive staff and very tasty food. A birthday occasion and we were able to bring our own birthday cake which was good due to various food intolerances in our group.

"Simple" food, but so well done. Wife hardly ever has steak, but just loved it. Was only planning to have 2 courses, but def having 3! Staff so friendly as well

Excellent food - the quality is superb. The staff are both friendly and very attentive although the restaurant was as usual busy for early Thursday evening.

Nicely cooked ànd presented food. The service was very quick and the waiters were very courteous I had French onion soup followed by pork then cheese.

Great meal however we got a seat at the front door which was very drafty, waiter was a bit intrusive and asked at least four times if wanted more drinks

Warm friendly reception from waiters, excellent pre theatre menu, amazing food. I especially loved the goats cheese starter and frozen raspberries with hot white chocolate. Mmmm. However toilets could do with revamp.

Fabulous lunch today at Red Onion. As always the food was delicious and the staff professional and attentive. Great atmosphere in the restaurant and the set lunch menu is incredible value. Definitely one of my favourites and would recommend to anyone looking for quality at an affordable price.

We did have a lovely lunch today the food was 1st class. The only bad comment I would say was the waitress didn't smile much and was really too quick taking our order twice we had to keep her at the table to finish what we wanted

A very relaxed atmosphere but with efficient service. A truly delicious meal although a glass of wine was pricey. Would have been better value to have had a bottle.

We visited the Red Onion last week and all enjoyed delicious freshly cooked meals. We had three courses from the pre- theatre menu which was amazing value for money. The staff were very efficient and friendly too. Five of us in our group and each one of of said that we will definitely return here and are recommending to friends already. A great find in Glasgow!

Excellent Vegan menu which vegetarian daughter loved. On the main set menu, there was something to suit everyone. My steak was excellent, while our other guest enjoyed a very tasty chicken main. Restaurant lovely and light too on a sunny day. Nice ambience.

Thought the restaurant looked great. The food was fantastic and the staff were super friendly. Food was served promptly. Without a doubt I'll be back again in the future!

Always love visiting the Red Onion for a special evening. The vegan options are delicious, even my meat eating friends are envious. Great choice and the food is super yummy! Definitely recommend!

Really excellent meal from the pre-theatre menu: so good (and also convenient for where we were staying) that we booked for the following night too! Nice atmosphere, good service too and value for money.

As ever- food was excellent and the staff were lovely. Nice lunch for Mother's Day with a glass of fizz. Very good value. Always reliable.

Staff were attentive, friendly and efficient. Food was good and brilliant gluten free menu; staff seemed well informed on gf and didn't regard as a problem. They wanted table back within 2 hrs but served us well without feeling rushed. Hope to go back sometime.

Excellent restaurant. Lovely food, great service, very good value and great wine selection. We come back here time after time. And caters brilliantly for decent sized groups too.

We had a great meal at the Red Onion. On our four day visit this was the best restaurant. Very relaxed, not rushed. Throughly enjoyed our evening.
