Excellent menu, with good variety, and super staff. Both the food and service is superior to anywhere else in the city centre of Glasgow - try it
Service was good, food was excellent. Only downside was being charged for 2 bottles of wine instead of 2 glasses. We realized and bill was changed, no problem.
Lovely place . Been before. Seating arrangements meant I had to be given my plate over as I was sitting at a closed end. The plate was rather hot so I was handed it in two napkins. I don't know why restaurants have these seating arrangements . Risky when there's scalding liquids involved. But a lovely meal in lovely surroundings .pleasant staff.
Took 25 guests to Red Onion. Excellent food, wine and service. All guests were very impressed as was I. Jo Taylor Tour Manager Captain's Choice
Utterly fabulous!!!! Tremendous food, spectacular value for money! Couldn't believe I was eating lobster on a Monday night!!! Menu, service and atmosphere were first class, thank you John Quigley!!
Great service & the pre-theatre meal represents great value. The French Onion soup is to die for! They also serve the best beer in Glasgow... St Mungo,
This was my second visit for lunch in two weeks. The menu was varied from my first visit and the food served was delicious. It was great value for money.
Really nice meal and very friendly I have food intolerances and they were able to change up the meal so it met my needs Will go back again
Fantastic service and tasty food. Great value for money and made to feel very welcome. Will certainly return and would recommend Red Onion to anyone. DJ.
Excellent service and surroundings, this was my second visit to Red Onion as a birthday celebration. Good choice of dishes on the set dinner menu and reasonably priced wine list too.
The Service and food were both really good Best course was main of pork loin. Very enjoyable. Will definitely be back for a return visit
Excellent in every way. Menu had great choices, best duck my husband has ever eaten. He also loved the single malt afterwards. Staff were attentive but not overbearing. There was plenty of space and we had a nice table in the window.
The food was fantastic. Full of flavour and beautifully cooked. The place was really busy but we were served in a timely manner. Not cheap but it is worth the money!
Great gluten free dining experience, fantastic choice and knowledge staff. Gluten free done properly. Not a box ticking exercise. Very good pre theatre gluten free menu also available. Will definitely be back.
Red Onion is one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. The food and service are always excellent and the atmosphere is always welcoming while still feeling special.
Very good service the food was excellent the Main course portions could do with being a little larger but starter and desert was fine all round very good but has potential to be excellent coming back in december
Delicious food, great service and nice atmosphere. We booked the graduation set menu for each one of us, and it was easy to pick and mix between the vegan/gluten free/regular menus (as we had a number of dietary restrictions such as gluten free and lactose free requirements).
Lovely food, great atmosphere & good value for money with the pre theatre menu. Wide range of Gluten Free choices aswell. Staff were very friendly.
Great menu, wide variety of food & excellent quality. Good value for money. John Quigley himself always makes you feel welcome. Will definitely be back.
As always, good food and great service. Staff knowledegable regarding gluten intolerance. City centre location, keen pricing. no further comments to add, thankyou L .
Excellent service; staff were very attendive. The food was even better; portion size was just right for midday. Will defo be back and have highly recommended this restaurant to all my office colleagues.
The food was excellent and the whole party enjoyed their meal. We had the lunch menu which had a good vatiety of options. Will definitely be returning soon. I will recommend to family and friends.
Good food with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. You are well looked after. Good city centre location with easy evening parking and handy for the theatre's
Great service and excellent food. I asked for a quiet seat due to a hearing impairment, one of the staff studied audiology so I got the perfect seat.
What a fantastic restaurant! Service was friendly and the food was out of this world. Fresh bread with houmous whilst looking over the menu, Bang bang chicken salad was incredibly fresh and the Innis and Gunn beef melted in the mouth... so, so full but still managed to have the amazing vanilla cheesecake - sublime. We will be back!
Visited the restaurant for the first time for lunch with a friend. Excellent choice of dishes on the lunch menu. The meal was delicious and the service was good. I'm taking my wife next week to sample the food.
Fantastic service - could get used to being called "Mam"! Reasonable choice of food on set menu. Each dish was pretty tasty. Overall a lovely meal out.
The overall experience was great. The food was fantastic, the décor, atmosphere was lovely and the staff were friendly and professional. I will be back!!!
Quick friendly service, food delicious as always. Lunch menu is good value for money. Highly recommend to any one considering a lunch or dinner venue.
Great food, great staff and a fabulous time was had by all. Vegan menu was brilliant, as veggies we chose from it and we were not disappointed! Highly recommend John and his staff for a great meal.
Fabulous food, excellent service...what else could you ask for! Always enjoy a visit to the Red Onion as you know the quality of food will be top notch and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly. If looking for a special meal in a lovely atmosphere, you can not go wrong with a visit to the Red Onion.
Speedy, polite service and excellent food - will definitely return! One of our party is a vegan and she was so thrilled at the menu she took a photo to share with others; she couldn't believe the selection available and her chocolate brownie for dessert was the best I've tasted.
Excellent service and a fantastic range of delicious food including vegan and gluten free options! Awesome atmosphere in the restaurant too, we all absolutely loved it!
Had a really lovely graduation dinner with my family. Great value for money with the set menu and everyone really enjoyed their meals! Separate vegan menu was designed similarly to the original and stopped me from feeling left out. Thanks!
Excellent food again, lovely surroundings, staff pleasant, another enjoyable visit to the Red Onion. Choice of an a la Carte or set menu for 2 or 3 courses.
Good service. Nice atmosphere and the food was great. Very quiet at 5.30 pm on a Thursday but was nicely busy by about 7pm. We had a vegetarian with us who really enjoyed the selection available.
Delicious food. Almost definitely the best roast beef dinner I’ve ever had. The bang bang chicken is lovely too. We went for lunch as a family and had a great time.
Food was wonderful, table was too close to a group of young people. We asked to be moved, which they arranged very quickly. The youngsters got their space and so did we. Good night out.
Lovely restaurant staff were very attentive and food was scrummy. Would definitely recommend. My mother is coeliac so opted for the gluten free menu for lunch, will definitely be back.
Excellent service. Staff were efficient without intruding. Can't fault them or the menu. Something fir most people even on st menu. Will definitely be back.
Reasonable choice of food on the 2/3 course lunch menu. It is lovely food at a really good price. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.
Really nice food and service. My family of 6 all enjoyed their meals and would definitely go back. Catered for my vegan diet which was also a plus! Thumbs up from me!
Place is nice, food was good and staff friendly. I think the kids offering is poor. Even half portions of adult food would be better than cheesy pasta or tomato pasta. U make that at he when there is nothing else, I don't expect that in a restaurant. If this improves I would go back with the family. Great place for adults though.
First time at the red onion. Food was excellent and delicious. Waitress service very cheery and helpful. Only downside was where we were seated! Upstairs cand gad to squeeze into the seats. It hasn't put me off coming back and I would certainly recommend it to friends. Regards CAthy
Food was very enjoyable although we felt the smoked haddock fish cake was a bit too crispy on the outside and the well done steak we asked for wasn't. Disappointed we had to wait 25 minutes between starter and main. Overall this was disappointing compared to previous visits.
I've been to red onion many times over the years and i have never had a bad experience. Always excellent food and service. A place i continue to recommend
We had a fantastic evening celebrating Uni graduation. The excellent vegetarian/vegan menu (available in addition to general menu) was superb - it is so difficult to find a high quality restaurant which caters so well for both vegetarian/vegan tastes and non-vegetarians. Ambience also stylish and relaxed. Full marks!
Always a good meal at Red Onion. Use it for lunch and good selection on fixed price menu with much wider selection on main so something for everyone.
we had a lovely time at red onion on30th june for daughters birthday dinner, the food was superp, and staff very friendly and helpfull, its so good to know that both vegan and meat eating family can all get a lovely meal ,and its just a 40 min drive away, we will definatley be back, thankyou all, (the mccalls )
The food was delicious and of excellent quality. The wine was lovely and reasonably priced. The service was excellent and the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable.
