Been meaning to go here for years and finally got round to it. Great service. Lovely fresh tasty food. One small gripe. Don't mind paying for some yoghurt dip but thought nearly £4 was rather expensive

Tasty traditional Persian foods of which many were cooked on charcoal by authentic chefs. Relaxed style and spacious dining area.

Service a bit average, food was enjoyable though. Unfortunately one third of dessert menu (as only 3 desserts lol) was unavailable. Really handy location for visiting duck and drake pub :)

The restaurant has a nice ambience and the food is great. Portions are quite generous as well and definitely it is a good value for money.

the staff were friendly but I found my veggie meal quite bland & watery & expensive at £9.50.. my friends had meat though & said it was cooked very nicely.

Food was top quality, staff were friendly. The area it is located in isn't great but it really is a diamond in the rough! The food comes in generous portions and I would recommend the mixed grill for main and the safran sharer was a great starter! I'll be dining there again!

Food was good but it is not a great restaurant for family. It is like those cheap restaurants where you sometimes buy takeaway food. However, the food is not cheap.

Safran is a family-run Persian restaurant and the food is lovingly cooked and presented. It is also very reasonably priced, for a real taste of something different. We had the Mixed Grill, but, beware - as this is more than enough food for two. Food is mainly lightly spiced.

Our first visit to this fabulous restaurant. The food was excellent and our waitress quick to respond to our every request. We shall certainly return.

Not the best part of town but who cares with such superb food . Succulent meat ,lovely salad and flatbread -perfect lunch. Kitchen on view and very clean .

Really delicious food! My husband had the mixed grill - the meat was cooked perfectly, so tender. I had the lamb stew which was on the watery side but still very tasty. Service was friendly which is a bonus!

Smart looking restaurant to say it's located in a neglected part of town, Kirkgate Nice food & plenty of it My friends had variety of kebabs & I had a stew type dish all served with piles of saffron rice Service wasnt too bad Waiter was a young lad,just learning the ropes it seemed which is OK,everyone needs to start from somewhere The order was correct when it came so no probs there Will go back again

Amazing food. I had the sultani which was amazing. They serve very large portions. One of the best Persian cuisine's around. Good value for your money.

Great food but service could have been a little friendlier and more attentive. Good portion sizes and food all fresh with authentic taste, would definitely go back!

Had a mixed lamb and chicken kabab which was nice , came with rice and salad. The only thing was it stated in menu it came with yougart. We asked about this thinking it should have come with a yougart sauce. We were told it means the chicken is cooked in yougart! But she said do we want some anyway , and so was brought a dish of herby yougart which it needed! Would have been too dry without a dip for the meat! Nice size portions. It was £14 for kabab meal with a soft drink , so not cheap really for plain environment but nice food.

The food is very good ... dessert persian ice cream is fabulouse ... just as a suggestion for the owner please if you add the photo of foods to the menu then the non-persian customer will be more comfortable to order and see what food they will get on their dish.

Great fresh food. Really good service. Very authentic Would give It 10 out of 10. Do not be put off by appearances. X x x
