Ate here with a friend on a weekend trip to Belfast. Lovely, cosy ambiance. Food was absolutely excellent...my friend still raving about the calamari! Great veggie menu too. Service was swift and polite. Good value and lovely location. Would recommend.

Items on the drinks menu were not available when we asked for them. The beer was not chilled and the plates and the food was cold when presented

Food excellent, particularly considering it’s valentines night. Great staff who clearly know what they are doing , especially the wee girl from Malin head . Minor issues sorted without fuss.

Unfortunately we were not aware the kitchen was closing and had 8 minutes to order food. Think there were more staff than customer so no atmosphere. Waiter was very pleasant and tried his best.

The restaurant was cold and we had to ask for a heater to be turned towards our table. The board advertising the pre-theatre offer was left on display but we weren’t allowed to avail of it as some of our group weren’t there for 6:30 which was disappointing. The group enjoyed the food for the most part but it was expensive for what we got. I would think again before I’d go back.

This is an excellent restaurant. It never disappoints. Had one of the best steaks I’ve tasted. Beautiful lemon tarte to follow. Service as always first rate, friendly and helpful.

The food was lovely and the staff were great. Initially the service was a little slow getting drinks but after that there were no issues.

This was my second visit to Salt in recent weeks , and I had returned because I really enjoyed my previous visit when I choose my meal off the pre theatre menu, which was great value for money ! This time I had deep fried goats cheese for starters , and lamb for main course , lemon tart for dessert . It was all lovely , even though it was pretty busy as was start of the Christmas party season ! Food arrived relatively quickly . Staff are friendly and attentive , really enjoyed my meal there again !!

Great food, good location but service was poor. We didn't mind at first because it's December and they were busy. However, once we finished our main we were forgotten. We didn't get dessert menus until we asked for them and then no one came back to take our order. Then when we asked for the bill we had the same experience

Delicious food, great service and reasonable prices. Quaint little restaurant with a lovely relaxing atmosphere. We went for dinner for our wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend.

I thought this must be some of the best restaurant food in Belfast and a very pleasant, helpful young woman gave us perfect, welcoming service. I had three courses pre-theatre menu, so very good value indeed for these. (Huge and world class, legendary cheesecake and ice cream desert). My side of sauteed herb potatoes was perfect also, like being in a top French place in the 1970s. My companion ate from the a la carte bistro menu - a great take on chicken supreme, very thick chicken breast and perfectly cooked veg. Good menus and not veering too far from traditional, while up-to-date, this restaurant is a major asset to the city.

The food was lovely, but the pasta dish my friend had was more like a large starter than a main and she still felt hungry after it but she said it was lovely. My sweet potato, chickpea and spinach dhal was delicious and not something I've had before but would be keen to have again. Service was efficient, and we managed to squeeze in desert due to prompt service before heading to the MAC next door for a play.

Tasty food and good service. Staff were friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The restaurant is also situated in a convenient location around cathedral quarter so is close to some nice bars.

I don't usually eat red .eat but ordered thrir rib eye and it was melt in the mouth FABULOUS. My friend said their pasta was the best she'd eaten in years and the rest of our party loved their foid too. Coupled with amazing, warm and attentive staff, our night was glorious. I can't recommend this Belfast gem enough.

Enjoyable meal with friends-good wine choice and reasonably priced-varied menu and the coeliac diners were easily accommodated.Food was tasty and unfussy.waiters were friendly and attentive.

Great atmosphere. Very attentive staff. The food was excellent and we were given time between courses to enjoy. Waitress had great knowledge of the food, wine and beer list. First time there for an evening meal although we’ve been for lunch but will most certainly be back.
