Good food though smallish portions. Reasonable value for London. Staff very friendly and attentive. Barman does great cocktails. Nice surroundings and not overcrowded. Would go again.

Lovely restaurant, quiet and intimate for a relaxed dinner and conversation. Prices are good and the staff is brilliant. The only downside is the food - considering this is a restaurant, I'm afraid this is an important point. I understand having burger and fish&chips in the menu, as the restaurant is connected to a hotel that might have foreigners wanting to try some traditional dishes. However, the other options weren't special at all... I ordered a chicken that sounded great on the menu, but was surprised by a fried chicken kiev in a wooden board with chips in a tin. My partner chose a cheese & broccoli pie and also received a blant dish that looked like it was frozen - and in the same wooden board. It's all very confusing. Both the food and the presentation simply don't go with the place - the restaurant looks cosy and classy, the food looks (and tastes) as it was brought from the pub in the corner. The exception was the desserts, that were really nice. Wine was also good. It wasn't a bad experience at all, just not what I was expecting. I might go back and give it another try eventually, but not anytime soon.
