Tipton’s Silk Route is a classic buffet restaurant with ambition. Serving dishes from across Europe and Asia and drawing on traditional British dishes from time to time, this is a buffet with a difference. Affordably priced and with plenty of special offers (dine in the week for the best discounts) this is a family favourite on Dudley Port. Buffet restaurant conjures up images of congealing food under hot lamps, but there’s none of that here, instead dishes are prepared fresh each day on site.

Diners at Tipton’s Silk Route are impressed with the open kitchen’s interactive approach to dining. Diners are invited to ask the chefs for a freshly made naan or waffle, or request a specially put together dish with their prefered ingredients. Of course, the kitchen’s repertoire should be enough to keep all but the fussiest diners satisfied. Offering the best of European cuisine (we like the beef stroganoff), Asian (try the duck and plum sauce) and subcontinental classics (gobi aloo and chicken jalfrezi are tasty and surprisingly light options). This is a great family restaurant in Dudley Port, a short drive from Birmingham city centre.
