Really friendly and prompt service, with a nice atmosphere. Good choice of dishes, what we had was perfect. In a really nice location beside the canal. we will eat here again in the future.
The location of this pub is lovely, being situated on the canal and the food is always of an excellent, home made quality. I can recommend the lasagna and cheesy garlic bread!
Fabulous choice on menu lovely food, staff were very friendly and attentive would definitely recommend also have a good choice of cocktails aswell as beers and wines
Used the £9.95 offer of main and a glass of wine and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Freshly cooked food and friendly, efficient service. Will certainly return.
We loved our dinner here. The staff were very friendly & our meals were wonderful. My steak was cooked to perfection. We will be back!
Very enjoyable experience. Staff were so pleasant and cheery, the food we each chose was very good, steaks were cooked to perfection. We shall return very soon
Helpful staff. Food good and not too fancy and prices reasonable given the location. Bit dark and dingy in the corner where were placed, but that is the nature of the character building.
The restaurant is in a pleasant and quiet location next to Gas Street canal basin. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The food was good and reasonably priced.
Lovely staff . Good food and good value. Bottle of wine, two mains and two puds for around 60. Close to NIA too so good.
First trip to Birmingham to visit my daughter at University think it will become a regular place for Sunday lunch, service was very attentive and the food was perfect.
Excellent choice for good pub food served by very efficient and pleasant staff in a location with a difference. Would certainly use again. Definitely recommended.
Had a super time, the staff were friendly, the food delicious and good value, the service was good and it was nice and relaxed; we didn't feel rushed as you do in some places. Highly recommended and would love to come here again when in Brum.
excellent sized portions from starters to puddings, four of us attended on Thursday 10th August at 8pm, not our first time and will definitely return
Had a really nice Sunday afternoon in the Tap & Spile. The table was in a great position, the food was lovely ( my steak cooked to perfection ) and the staff were very very friendly and efficient. And to top the lot the bill was very reasonable. Will definitely be going back.
We enjoyed our meals as we are prior to a visit to the theatre. We noticed on leaving that they had a special for theatre visitors. It's a pity we were not made aware of this.
Lovely little pub on the canal. We had pizza, house wine fine, included in our deal. Staff attentive. Maybe just lacked a bit of atmosphere on a weekday evening even though most tables occupied, but in saying that, would definitely visit again!
Excellent restaurant . Great food . Great place to eat. Very friendly staff. Location couldn't be better, on the waters edge. We go at least twice a month which speaks for its self.
Visited Tap & Spile for Father's Day. As always the food was excellent and the service was friendly. We love it here and are never disappointed.
Lovely canal side setting - good service - very polite staff. Good arrived promptly and was freshly made and good quality Highly recommend and if we are ever at the Barclaycard arena again I will definitely book again
Family run canal side pub with restaurant downstairs. Simple, pub grub type menu but lots of choice. A lot of dishes are home made and were very good. Service was friendly and quick - a bit too quick sometimes! Can get a little noisy of a weekend but to be expected, as it is a pub that serves food rather than purely a restaurant. Over all very enjoyable meal and will return.
The food and service was excellent. The location of the pub was central to all the bars on Board Street. With a view of the canal.
Nice canal side setting, within easy reach of the Barclaycard arena and Symphony hall. Good choice of starters and main courses, also several special dishes available. Service was quick and efficient. Wine list available, together with several 'real ales' on tap.
Very busy place, only two staff on but service was good, food was lovely, very prompt service though we used a voucher and were on a time limit so it served our purpose
Great little find . Lovely friendly staff and gorgeous food .very busy at 5.30 pm on Easter Saturday but will visit again with friends this time
Nice real ale pub with restaurant area downstairs on the canalside level. Nicely decorated and good choice of typical pub grub on the menu plus pizza options. Very friendly owners and staff. Toilets on the restaurant level could do with being a bit tidier, the floor was rather wet. Overall good value for a city centre establishment and will return.
Fantastic service matched with very reasonably priced yet absolutely fantastic food. Being next to the canal was great and made for a pleasant trip for my friends child who loved the boats.
The Tap & Spile was super. Good food and great service, this time we took 3 of our friends for the first time, all had nothing but praise for the pub/restaurant.
Great Restaurant food and beer, staff very friendly and excellent service, we will use the Tap and Spile next time we are in Birmingham, looking forward to our next visit.
Thank you Tap and Spile for a really great time on Saturday 18th March 2017. We received a wonderfully warm welcome on arrival. Our table was waiting for us despite us being a little late. The service was lovely and the food was outstanding. My two daughters and I took my Mum for her 80th birthday treat, we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend dining at the Tap and Spile. We will visit again soon.
Great little pub, nice atmosphere, relaxed and reasonable prices not the £6 a pint like All Bar One!! Good location just of the Broad Street strip...food was nice too, not gourmet, but very decent 😁
A very relaxed place for a mid-week lunch. Good choices on the menu and excellent service. We would be happy to return in the future.
We arrived early, but this was not a problem we got a table straight away, the fish & chips were delicious, lovely crispy batter. The waitress was very attentive and the service was excellent. This was not my first visit and I am never disappointed.
Staff were very friendly and attentive, nothing was a problem. Food was tasty and did not take long to come. Would definitely visit again in the future.
Visited the Tap and Spile for the second time having enjoyed it so much the first. They serve really good pub food in a clean and comfy environment. All the staff are cheerful and chatty. They even changed our table so that we could watch the rugby!
Fantastic home made food in a cosy atmosphere just a short walk from the mailbox will definitely go again. The nachos are the best I have ever had!
Absolutely lovely, the food and drinks were beautiful and staff were friendly. over looking the Canal. Lovely atmosphere and the steak wa cooked to perfection. Thank you
Excellent food value for money helpful staff 9 of us dined and there was not 1 complaint from any of us would definately visit again
Was very loud for an hour or so with a stag party, could hardly hear anyone talk . Almost thought about leaving. Pub was empty upstairs so not sure why they weren't asked to go up there. Food was good though and much better once the stag party had left.
Great New Years Eve! We came with a group of seven people and were very satisfied with food and service! Great location by the canal!
The food was good, in a nice location, the staff was friendly and it wasn't too expensive. In my opinion it just lacked atmosphere maybe some background music
the service is lovely, very fast and helpful. The food comes very quickly and is always very hot when it comes out, however most of the seats are by radiators which can become very hot when eating, although if you ask to move and there is a table away from a radiator available the staff will be more than willing to move you
Excellent meal from start to finish. Table was reserved and waiting for us. Staff were really attentive throughout the meal and the food was great. Excellent value for money. Will return.
Grear menu, something for everyone. Food was delicious and well presented. Service was swift and staff friendly. Really quiet but it was a Tuesday. Overall good meal.
Food was delicious. All exactly as ordered, served quickly and with a smile. For a first visit our party of four were very impressed. Will definitely be popping back for another visit if we are in the area again.
Very Friendly people. Good tasty food. Great location by the canal. Keep enjoying meals there each time I go. Look forward to going there again soon.
We found the service and the food really good. The portions were large and I couldn't eat a dessert but my husband had cheesecake and said it was delicious. We would definitely go back again.
Excellent food, friendly staff, didnt have to wait for food, we went for the sunday lunch menu which was 2 courses for £12.95 main meal and dessert, good value for money
Went here with four family members for a meal before a gig at the Barclay Card Arena. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful. Won't be the last time I'll be going there
There were 6 in our group and we all had excellent meals, particularly the salmon and fish and chips main courses. Staff were very attentive. Enjoyed our visit and will go again.
Lovely location friendly staff, good choice of ales & the food was hot & very tastie, will be returning to try more of the menu
