The food is absolutely amazing. The table in my opinion is a little small for 4 people when you get the food and glasses on. One waiter who collected our plates also tipped food from one plate to another at the table! I didn't feel this was appropriate and I hope it's not the norm.

I went to Tapasya on the 1st May with my sisters. The food was amazing and at first the waiting staff couldn't have been more attentive. At about 9pm we ordered some cocktails and then at about 9.45pm we asked for another round but were told that the bar man had gone home. We then asked if we could have another bottle of wine and the waitress was 'not best pleased'. Now I could understand if it was nearly midnight or some other ungodly hour but 9.45pm........seriously?. The waitress stomped off and almost threw the wine into the glasses. For that reason I give them 4. Having lovely staff is part of the experience............lose the attitude missy

Extremely good food - interesting and balanced flavours, quality ingredients, well cooked and well presented. The service was very good and attentive - but unfortunately the first three bottles of wine we chose from the list were all out of stock. The wine we did receive was good. The restaurant was lively and busy - it might be a little noisy for some - and is situated in an interesting, expensively appointed and attractive new building. We'll certainly be going again - we enjoyed it very much.

It was a quiet early Tuesday evening, and we were one of four occupied tables, so the staff were particularly attentive. Food was for the most part wonderful - the red deer in the biryani was a little dry, but everything else was delicious. Quite expensive main courses given that some do not include any rice, but good range of wines for all budgets.

Beautiful starter and main course, Tapasya make the most wonderful sauces. Service could be improved with incorrect drinks orders and a confusion over the bill. Also could do with a better dessert menu; I appreciate it is authentic Indian but nothing to stop additional puddings being available too!

Great location, great looking restaurant and really nice food. Service wasn't the best, first the wrong food got brought out, then took over half an hour for our table to be cleared after dessert. Asked for the bill twice to be ignored and then took over 15 minutes to arrive. Waitresses were not the most polite, just taking plates without saying a word and didn't once ask how the food was. So unfortunately service ruined a nice experience for us.

Excellent food and wonderful atmosphere. It is a shame the service is not up to the same standard. Disappointed not to have been given the full wine list.

Great decor and very busy. The food I had was tasty but the menu is very meat orientated. We would have liked to share some dishes, but they all seemed to be mains.

Staff were rushing not very attentive or friendly. The kitchen lost our order which meant a longer wait for our food. Restaurant was cold. Food was over priced.

Nice food but soiled by. Poor service. We ordered papa sums, starter and main. Long wait then starters but papadums never arrived. Offers them with our starters. Not impressed. Style over substance. Will not return. Prices do not justify the experience.

Looked forward to our first visit having been to the excellent Beverley Road restaurant a few times. Service was very poor, Maitre 'D unwelcoming, walking around not appearing to be doing much and avoiding eye contact when we tried to get his attention. Waitresses were abrupt and unsmiling. We waited an hour to be served our starters, the food was very hit and miss, my liver starter was the best dish, to follow my oxtail was nicely cooked but the sauce was tasteless, the rest of our party of 6 agreed that the food was pretty tasteless. It is a lovely building but I feel it no way lives up to the Tapasya name.

Initially had a table in a walk through area so was quickly moved to a different one which was much better. The restaurant ambience was great, just a little slow service after we had finished eating so much so we're.t a little abandoned as the tables next to us had emptied out. Food was good- hubby loved his crab starter and oxtail main but being vegetarian it was quite limited for me and the dishes I chose weren't to my personal tastes.

Our waitress spoke poor English and knew nothing about the dishes. Other staff good. Food order taken before drinks arrived. Food not bad but pricey. Coffee very average. Not sure i understand the "Gordon Ramsey does Indian" approach. Others may disagree but i wont be wandering far from the Bengal Brasserie in Market Weighton again!

The food tasted good but not to the extent that my wife and I were blown away by it. The starters were tiny, even by fine dining standards!!! On my plate, they served 3 really small scallops surrounded by mustard and two tiny slices of vegetable per scallop. The portion really was embarrassingly tiny. The main courses were slightly better. I had Kind prawn which were a nice size and I had three of them surrounded by a spicy sauce. A ordered a separate side dish of rice, otherwise I would have had to stop off somewhere else to have a proper lunch. My wife's experience was similar. In general the pricey menu (only the A La Carte menu available on Mother's Day) did not deliver a fulfilling experience. On a more positive note, the surrounding were very modern and the waiters/waitresses did a reasonable job, except for the fact they failed to notice that we had a 3 year old baby - they put a wine glass in front of her after we ordered our drinks and no one offered a high chair (later we found out that they do have those!!). If you want value for money fine dining, I would go somewhere else in the future.

Really enjoyable evening. Good food and reasonably priced. What I would call a posh Indian restaurant, as not your usual choice of curry, but was really nice. Good service.

A beautiful interior overlooking the marina which was bathed in sun so we asked to be seated in the window. The thalli luncheon menu suited us for a light lunch and it was delicious and nicely presented with a glass of wine for £12.95 so good value too. Service is about right, being prompt, attentive but not hovering and the washroom, although small, is very nicely decorated. Overall an enjoyable experience which we will certainly repeat.

Enjoyed the Meal and Service.Lovely setting,my only comment which is why I didn,t rate at 6. .When I order a bottle of wine I expect it to be in an ice bucket by my table. The problem is that all wine is placed in a common ice bucket, and served by the waiter which means you have to wait for him to serve. This leads to the wrong bottle being brought to the table and one which has been served to others as we pointed out to the waiter. I hope the next time I dine there this is sorted.

A lovely atmosphere with very attentive staff in a great setting. The food was well presented and on the whole very flavourful. My starter was a bit bland and boring and portions smaller than I recall them being at the Beverley road restaurant

Excellent service delivered throughout our meal. Food was really good, nice varied menu. My main should have had rack of lamb with lamb shank. Rack not available due to high demand so more than enough lamb shank substituted. Overall a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be back for other things from the menu

Food really very good, just a few lack of care and attention to detail issues. I'll definitely go back though. And like what they're trying to achieve.
